Wererat's were in Planescape: Torment, and have their http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wererat. Compare that to the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WereBear and decide which one seems more ferocious.

Then perhaps both of you should go scour Morrowind for werebears?

I saw werebears in Morrowind. But it was in a mod that added all were creatures to Morrowind. It was pretty cool all the were creatures have different stats and benefits.
But I would rather see spears in than werebears in Skyrim.

If I'm not wrong, they're confirmed for Skyrim. After being in Fallout 3, I doubt that they won't be in Skyrim.

yeh they are confirmed for Skyrim, but I am saying the last 2 games didn't follow lore because they were not in
well there were some in Oblivion, inside the nightmothers crypt are some skeletons of children

and isn't it wereBoars? not wereBears?

Werewolves are terrifying ferocious creatures. Imagine how terrifying and ferocious a werebear would be.
Wolves scary
Bears [CENSORED] scary...
Werewolves have been done to death in so many movies and books etc as well as in the Bloodmoon expansion pack. Werebears are a far more unusual and a first for Elder Scrolls, a new look at werecreatures.

I disagree. If there must be werecreatures, which I'm all for. Then add both werebears and werewolves. Werebears are not as common as werewolves which are seen everywhere. I think werewolves are much better than their oversized and slower counterparts.

This thread is about werebears. You complain when your werewolf & vampire thread gets off-topic, so please keep the discussion to werebears.
Yep, I will never understand the hype for werebears or wereboars, I don't like to be slow and i like to attack when I can, and with the person who said they have more defense over werewolves pff, its all how you PLAY, I would hardly get hit as a werewolf in MW.....

Have you ever seen a bear move? They are FAR from slow (2.24 on). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pd7yTRnYzg That is where they get their hype from.

That joke gave me cancer.

But on topic,i've come to expect werebears and werewolves. Both would be cool, and werebears have grown on me. It's not as goofy as you might think.

If there is only one type of were-creature, it should be were-bears. most common in skyrim. HOWEVER; there should – if they can do it – also be were-wolves, most common in all of Tamriel. Further, there should be were-boars on the high-rock border and were-lions on the cyrodiil border

This. This is exactly my sentiments on this matter.

From what Todd was saying in the interview, I got the impression that they were exploring more possibilites than just Vampires and Werewolves, since they've done Werewolves before I wouldn't be suprised if they included Were-Bears.

They would also be very suitable, who remembers Beorn in the Hobbit who transforms into a bear?

I found the Spear of Bitter Mercy in Morrowind. So there's what "lore" is worth at Bethesda.

Nice!
