I [NUMMIT] hope so! And unlike werewolves, who are fast, stealthy, and powerful, these guys will be slower and not very stealthy, but have more defense than werewolves.

Lore mentions a "Spear of Bitter Mercy," and good luck finding a spear. At all. So there's what "lore" is worth at Bethesda.

I hope there are three types of were-creatures.

Were wolves, Were Bears, and Were Boars.

I found the Spear of Bitter Mercy in Morrowind. So there's what "lore" is worth at Bethesda.

Also I rather want werebears than werewolves, a book in Daggerfall states that in Skyrim werebears are more common...

That's why I don't like to post here, I don't know crap about lore lol.

Still, I'd like them, regardless. Doesn't mean they should be in.

If anything Werebears should take priority over Werewolves. Only furries like wolves :bolt:

au contraire there is a spear of bitter mercy you could get it in morrrowind by doing the sheogorath daedric quest (im guessin he stole it from hircine to give to you as your reward at the last moment)

Then perhaps both of you should go scour Morrowind for werebears?

I like my reason for why spears aren't going to be in Skyrim.

I disagree. If there must be werecreatures, which I'm all for. Then add both werebears and werewolves. Werebears are not as common as werewolves which are seen everywhere. I think werewolves are much better than their oversized and slower counterparts.

According to unofficial sources, this time we'll have werechipmunks, wereturtles (teenage, mutant ones) and wererabbits.

Seriously, though, a generic lycanthropy/"transformation into animal" system would open incredible possibilities for modders.

I think what most are missing here is that spears are confirmed out, in spite of lore or any kind of sense of consistency with the previous games, Morrowind included. On topic? I'm all for Werebears, but I very seriously doubt we will see them.

Im all for werebears, but if there are teenage mutant ninj...oh, sorry, I mean teenage mutant wereturtles, I might have a heart attack. Anyway, seriously, I do hope there are at least werewolves.

I really hope that there are both werewolves and werebears :)

As far as spears are concerned, I hope there are statues throughout the game with "heros of old" holding spears.... just to taunt us :P

Yep, I will never understand the hype for werebears or wereboars, I don't like to be slow and i like to attack when I can, and with the person who said they have more defense over werewolves pff, its all how you PLAY, I would hardly get hit as a werewolf in MW.....

If I'm not wrong, they're confirmed for Skyrim. After being in Fallout 3, I doubt that they won't be in Skyrim.

I want weresharks, and whowolf, and whenwolfs, and whywolfs, and wereweres!!!

Anyway, werebears would be nice as enemies, and it would be fun if you could transform in one. But I can survive without wereboars...
