Werebear Secret Confirmation? You decide.

Post » Fri Oct 14, 2011 9:45 pm

I personally believe Skyrim will contain BOTH werewolf & werebear, because of the following sources.

The first link is the lore of the werewolf and includes the werebear as well.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:On_Lycanthropy

The second link is a picture of the player encountering a bear of some sort.

BETHESDA IS CONFIRMING THROUGH IMAGE NOT WORD!

The bears eyes look a certain amber or red.

The claws are unnaturally HUGE and also lack fur.

There is a mane on the bears back, maybe the hair from original form?

Also the image is obviously at night, but there is DEFINITELY a pale light shining bright, maybe full moon?

Please reply and give feed back.

P.S. Apologies the image link should work now.

403-error. Would be cool if they added it in though.

Since the image in question isn't currently viewable could you tell us if it's the concept art with the bear standing over a dead mammoth?

Edit: Hm.. since you say it's at night, probably not.

It's possible. Or it could just be a different type of bear to fit the lore of Skyrim.

Ah, that screenshot. Erm... don't know. Doesn't look too different from a regular bear to me.

You've got a point with the five-fingers thing, but otherwise it looks like a pretty passable regular bear to me.

Also the lack of fur on the paws, last time i checked, bears have fur covering their paws.

Well I think bethesda would take a real bear as a model and would never accidently add another finger,

Agreed, Bethesda even admits to being sticklers for the small details.

looks kind if fishy to me. But also wouldn't werebear's stand on 2 feet? But the hands look interesting to me.

I think people need to just forget about Were-creatures to avoid possible disappointment. The more you look for them, and convince yourself that they're in, the more you're setting yourself up to have your dreams crushed. If they are in, then awesome, you'll be in for a nice surprise, but if they aren't (which is just as likely), then all you have to blame for your inevitable discouragement is yourself. And besides, the constant were-threads are getting old. In my opinion, all the picture proves is that the bears in Skyrim are beastly, just like every other Skyrimian creature.

Sigh. Bears have 5 toes, just like humans have 5 fingers. Grizzly bears even have a mane of hair on the back. Your entire argument for proof of a werebear boils down to you having an image of a bear that looks like a bear. Besides, that bear model is obviously similar to this http://images.wikia.com/fallout/images/2/2e/Yao_guai.png from Fallout 3, which, spoiler alert, were just bears, not people turned into bears.

I hope if werebears are in they certainly do not look that lame. It is just a bear. They made bears with those kinds of claws in Fallout 3. Yao Guai? Identical paws.

EDIT-LMFAO looks like someone beat me to it with the exact same Image to boot!!

people are really starting to lose their minds since skyrim is getting so close...

first that upside down skyrim map looking like a khajiit, now we have people thinking a normal bear is actually a werebear.

last i checked, bears have five toes/fingers/claws/whatever you wanna call them... its not out of the ordinary.

i know its rough with skyrim being less than a month away, guys... but come on, really?

Next thread idea. Why dragons are actually flying crocodiles not Dragons. Did you see the way the jawline looks...

Sorry OP don't mean this in any sort of insulting way. I can understand the need to make connections you want to be there.

It's either a werebear, or a really scraggly, scruffy normal bear.
