Werewolf: Black Death

Post » Tue Jul 27, 2010 7:04 pm

I saw it as him having been in his house recently, and was instantly suspicious of you when you dismissed it off-hand :P

Sigh. If only I had been able to let slip this little detail. Then maybe people would have listened to me.

You find the freshly filled grave of Dennis (Cecil). Sighing at the stupidity of advlts to make you do extra work, you start to dig his body up. Once he is out you cut his head off using a sharp stone you found.

He opens his eyes and looks very confused.

"What happened to you?" You demand.
"Err, what?" He replies, still confused.
"You died. Wolves slit your throat."
"They did? Oh wow, they did. Being dead is confusing you know, I'm sure I should have a body somewhere here, I bet this is the governments faul-"
"Shut up and tell me what happened," You say before muttering: "Stupid advlts."
"Oh, I don't remember very well, it seems so long ago. He was very nice and we were talking and we went outside and then I remember feeling my neck hurt and I looked down and I was bleeding. But the cut seemed to be not so smooth, I can't remember what did it. Then I fell over and I saw a wolf stomping and punching the ground pretty violently. And then I woke up here."
"Ok, you're still a stupid advlt but you're quite useful so I'll keep you around for a bit. You can stay under my pillow."

You roughly shove his head into your bundle of hay before lying down for a bit. Sometimes, advlts can be alright.

Alas.

Yeah, that book kind of screwed us wolves, lol. Honestly, I don't think it would have been quite so bad, if the matchmaker wasn't allowed to reveal who they matched together. I think that was the real killer, to be honest. I can understand allowing people to share their role, but in the case of the matchmaker, they should not be allowed to tell who they matched together. If that hadn't happened, it would have been considerably easier to convince people not to vote for George, and thus, by extension, myself.

I was almost crying when I was converted to a wolf, the innocents had been doing so good all game(even myself, having made the first solid case against Web Sterre near the end of Day 2, then having it actually used on day 3), I knew I was doomed to be on the losing side. Then after they ignored Cooper for so long, I was almost starting to believe we had a chance, till that book and the matchmaker, rofl.

Over-all, a fun game, and a performance I can be happy with, I was much more active with the exception of Sunday and part of monday.

What no kudos for preventing Webster's execution. The Earl is slighted. Anyway I loved the setting for this game, Wererabbit was awesome! The store mechanic was decent wish it could be used more than once. I'm curious what did the wolf store have and they use anything. This game reminds me of Werewolf: Talent Island, I didn't play but I read the thread I think there was an abundance of evidence like in that game, which similarly to this one had low innocent executions. My own performance was disappointing I saw some of the cases but didn't act or vote. So meh! Hope you host again soon Fighter's.

Well, my thoughts on the game aren't too detailed, because I don't have that much to say about it. I liked the evidence and writing, but I hate English village settings as a rule so I try not to let it cloud my judgement. The evidence was good, a little esoteric at times, and I have to laugh at how my mistake ended up putting us on the winning path. Overall, there was nothing bad about the game I can think of but nothing much stood out to make me think ''awesome''. Though I did quite enjoy the shop mechanic.

I was Fighters' guinea pig for the store. I think the wolves could choose between a garrote, gunpowder, a horse roller (which they picked), and (not sure if he actually added this) a crystal ball. I think the garrote would be used as a murder weapon, the gunpowder could sabotage a search by blowing it up, the horse roller could hide evidence of where the wolves were, and the crystal ball could give clues about roles.

This game went better than expected (;)). The evidence was ok for the first two days. I don't think we would have had as good of a chance if Oranos hadn't role revealed, which led to us killing Kinguin instead of him. After I died I didn't pay as close attention to the evidence, but I think you put the evidence too light on FoF and too heavy for Woolly for my murder. I look forward to your next game.

Good job innocents. Well done.

First time dying early, but the game was still all the fun to watch...

I believe I accidentally wrote "Shirt", the curse word, rather than "shirt". Therefore, this censored tag popped up in my profile...

Well done Fighters. Nice job.

I enjoyed the game for my first time in one. I found the write ups each day actually enjoyable to read and also to look for the clues given through them.. I do think that the game was in favour of the innocents towards the end there with the book. Anyway thanks for hosting Fighters. I now look forward to the next game.

edit: Oh yeah I loved the Wererabbit. Great way to kill off sloths

Probably hugely hypocritical for somebody who didn't ever actually make a correct case against a wolf, but I though the evidence was too easy, and too little in amount. I'm all for more evidence against wolves so that they have to work for it, but the problem as I see it is that for the most part the innocents didn't have to do anything either - evidence mostly came in the form of clear-cut murder evidence (day one) or vague character actions and search evidence (day five) that I found incredibly difficult to work with. Changing the wolves may have been an idea to consider - Woolly and Fate must have been [censored] profiles to work with.

Mostly I was frustrated at myself much more than you, so this was a little unfair. I think it was a good game which I enjoyed, and thanks a whole bunch for hosting. :)

WHY ARE BANG'S CHILDREN NOT IN MY STOMACH?

This game, the unfortunate combination of having a bad profile, and my sister killing our internet on the day I died meant I couldn't enjoy the game that long. I must admit, I was a bit annoyed with the guy running around with the wolves evidence. Even if you didn't intend it to be evidence like that, it's still annoying.

Over all, I thought the game was good - you just need to balance your evidence more. Thanks for hosting, Fighters.

Fun game , I actually made lists of people who I suspected. We won, even though I thought the double was a bad idea at first . At least my vote helped against Tom though. Also, fighters I love the ending for me .....Morrowind style.

EDIT: wow dumb thing I said before.

Yay! That was a fun first game, and I didn't see anything wrong with it. I'm sorry I didn't contribute much to the cases or anything, I was kind of paranoid of killing the wrong people. I'll probably get used to it. I look forward to playing some more games!

My first victory in werewolf. :D

The evidence was pretty wild in this game. It seamed that on the early days it was pretty easy. However near the end it was pretty even and I think we gat a bit lucky today. For your first time as the host the game was really well done.
I'm also sorry for the lack of activity the last 3 days, minecraft and Reach are addictive games.

Glad I didn't sign up, since I would have just been another inactive innocent. Or worse, a dead wolf :P

I probably won't be able to sign up for a while with classes starting and getting progressively harder. :(

Good game guys.

I should have seen my inactivity coming though. Due to the time zones, by the time I got home there were already 4 pages full and everyone had seemed to make up their mind.

I'll try to be more active next time and not join if I know I'll be too busy to play.

I'm glad everyone/nearly everyone enjoyed the game.

I'm also going to join the calls for a new host. My 24 hours is up, we're looking for proposals and the like now! C'mon everyone :P

Edit: To reinforce this, last summer we had 10 games, this summer we're on 8 (and we've only had 9 games all year!)

I might host in October to celebrate New Vegas's release, but that's a massive might. All my exams are in November so...

I strongly considered converting you, but you were close to slothing at that point, so I didn't.

BFME was thinking about hosting, I believe, and while he should probably have more experience, if there's an opening I could talk to him. I'm open to co-hosting with someone, too, but beware that you're going to be subject to Woolly's House of Strange Ideas.

Thing is, though, there isn't much of a game without activity. Anyone interested in a game on a three-day cycle? Two and a half days of posting, half a day to get the writeup together between two hosts? I don't know -- could we keep interest up that way?

I might be able to play a game sometime soon, but I'm fulling expect another absurdly busy uni schedule starting next week so it's unlikely.

I have no problem with BFME hosting. He's proven he knows what's happening in his few games and I don't him making a below par game. Same applies to most of the noobs this year. We've had 4/9 innocent victories and another 2 games have had potential for innocent victories which is a lot better than previously and I don't think it's the more experienced of us who are making the difference.

And I'm confused by this. You're suggesting 1 day in game is the equivalent of 3 IRL? Which I'm not sure will work. It'll mean for the active players that the game is too stagnant and the nonactive players will just have lots of lots of posts by the active players to read  The double day this game killed activity to an extent as in the first 20 hours of the next day the thread was abysmal but it picked up late day.

Edit: I can guarantee I'll be active for any game starting in the next 2 weeks. If first year of Uni is as easy as some people make it out to be then I'll be active all year ;)

I'll ask him. Doubt he has time.

That is what i was suggesting, yes. I wonder if there's some way to split the difference, like in a co-host situation host #2 writes up a search every day but there's only a kill (from host #1) every other/every third. I dunno, just interested in how people would feel about it. On the one hand, it would make me more likely to sign up if I didn't have to play every day. On the other hand, I might simply forget that there's a game on...

Daily PMs, biweekly writeups? Hmm.
