Werewolf: Black Death

Day 7

The innocents decided to execute George Delaine (AKA_Thunder) and Tom Cooper (Woolly). First it was Cooper who faced the noose, he went up fighting and snarling but eventually he was hanging. The innocents stared. He converted. One down. Then they took George Delaine up. He hung. The innocents stared. He didn’t convert. Then they saw Reginald Wax (Starwulf) crying at the bottom of the stairs. “WHY DOES EVERYONE I LOVE DIE?” he shrieked “WHY NOT ME?” Feline Felon’s dagger obliged to this task and Reginald’s body fell to the floor.

And then turned into a wolves body.

Overjoyed by their triumph the innocents wooped and shrieked with joy. Charles Howe (Webster) and Feline Felon embraced while Felix Fiction (Undone) looked on rather jealously. The celebrations went on well into the night, and even the wererabbit joined them for a drink or two before disappearing into the night.

After the trauma of the last few days the remaining innocents initially struggled to adjust to normal life. Feline and Charles took up residence in Charles’ manor and hired back in servants and the like. Salty Bob (Crazy Monkey) decided to give pirating one last chance and became a renowned captain of the seven seas. Bruce Tasman (Wyatt) moved away to the city and raked in a fortune running a Tavern there (A town commonly regarded as a Death Town wasn’t ideal for custom). Steve Jenkins (Ewoklord) decided to stay in Eyam and study what else he could find of the werewolves. Earl Rendon Howe carried onto visit the Earl of Derby and gained a large chunk of land in compensation for the Werewolf crisis he was stuck in. Old Man Dan (Suffca) and Oliver Sykes (KPnuts) kept on farming in Eyam and making a fine living out of it after the loss of the Nulls (it turns out Jeff and Sarah (BigBang) had been sabotaging there crops). Hugh J. Clutz (TeeHee) continued to clumsily make an array of clothes but always shipped cloth in from Manchester from then on. Terrence (Teferi) moved to America and spent the rest of his days there, enjoying the plentiful land he owned.

Alistair Harland (MysteriousDrD) was ejected from the Brotherhood of Fighters after it was decided that only the most noble, heroic and good looking men could join and he spent the rest of his life forever trying to perfect his flawed body. D the Mysterious (Donkey Cavity) moved to somewhere with a higher population of old woman and spent his time drinking and chatting them up. Charles Wellington (Snowkel) gave up shoe shining in favour of a more suitable and profitable career.

Felix Fiction (Undone) gave up being an angel after Eyam, the stress of saving Charles Howe caused him to age 5 years. And make him much more attractive to the ladies. He stayed on as a butcher and his sausage speciality was well known around town. Lord William Cavendish (Northwind) carried on with his retirement and still hasn’t learnt to read. Adam West (Umbra) very nearly choked to death on his last day in Eyam but also left to the city, he became a comedian who was also the bouncer at his gigs. Caius Cosades (Fishy) got called back to the capital city and had to abandon his shop, pipe and everything else in Eyam, never to return.

Eyam was never the same afterwards though. The population was shrunk to a tenth of its original size. The remaining villagers built the town up again but few people came back, the stigma of a death town loomed over it for many years to come. Some say that in the long, dark nights of winter, when the moon is at it’s fullest you can still hear a howl and some strange footprints are still found around there, but the mystery is, why are they rabbits footprints?

Awards

Get A Room – Webster and Oranos, for being so open about their bonding and getting away with it. Also congratulations for these 2 for successfully (fluking) the double on the last day

I’M NOT A [censored] WOLF – Woolly for surviving 6 days despite being mentioned as a suspect on every single day. Eventually his time came but it was about 3 days later than it should’ve been.

Back From The Dead – Cecil had a strong involvement in the game despite dying on day 1. He and Xetirox made a fearful Gravedigger team that plagued the wolves through the first 4 days.

Saviour – Undone for saving Webster (and Oranos). This came days after he produced my biggest facepalm of the game

After receiving his role:

Awesome, I can't actually remember ever having been an angel before :P Each night I'll protect all the innocents and none of the wolves, ok?

Day One:

Woolly will be protected tonight.

But congratulations, nevertheless.

Best Newbie – Kpnuts had a fine game. Consistently voting for wolves and searching regularly in the right places.

Survivors – Mysterious Dr D, Fishy, Wyatt, TeeHee, KPnuts, Webster, Donkey Cavity, Snowkel, Northwind, Undone, Hircine, Suffca, Umbra, Teferi, MrCrazy Monkey, Oranos and Ewoklord.

Great game. I think the added roles tilted the scales in the innocents favor. Im thinking the gravedigger had a lot to do with this.

Woot!

I wasn't sure how to play as an angel. I went for under the radar with mixed results. I actually protected Woolly twice :P I was a really bad angel, I kept falling asleep on my watch.

That was so you didn't watch Woolly walk out of the room as a wolf and then I had to keep it up so you didn't get suspicious....

Evidence list:

Day 1

FoF listens in on talk of dead bodies with slit throats – foreshadowing for later
Kinguin leads Jeff outside by using his polite manners and nice attitude.
Lurking in the shadows FoF slits his throat using knife.
Woolly growls at digger and then lobs the body at him but it falls short – angry and ambitious.
Kinguin stumbles over body as they leave due to being engaged in his own thoughts.
Wolves go south – base in the mine.

Day 2

A deceiving FateorFatality suggests the other 2 make the kill tonight but he satisfys his bloodlust by killing Farm animals at Teferi’s Farm hence the moo’s from the south west.
Kinguin gets Cecil talking so they go out for a walk.
Kinguin doesn’t trust Woolly to help him make the kill. Woolly is angry and throws a tantrum hence the crushed ground.
Kinguin slits Cecils throat with his rusty dagger (ragged cuts) as he is good under pressure.
Wolves go and join FoF at Teferi’s Farm.
Paper – Kinguin or FoF
Trail in woods – FoF deceiving innocents by taking a strange route back.

Day 3

FoF deceives Bang into coming out of her room by pretending to be her husband’s ghost.
Woolly beats Sarah to death.
Wolves base in the Church hence footsteps north.

Day 4

Woolly has a clumsily made barrel despite being “good with his hands”, it’s thrown to one side indicating anger.
No meat in Woolly’s kitchen. Wolves enjoy meat.
Woolly looks around the group, choosing convert.
Starwulf excuses himself after the wererabbit attack. He was converted.
Oranos and Webster talk – bonded
Xetirox smells foul – he’s the gravedigger and has dug up the terrible smelling Cecil.

Day 5

Starwulf and Woolly don’t get on at cricket – foreshadowing of later disagreement
Growl by Woolly because Woolly is angry and Starwulf was “late to work”
Starwulf is confident, approaches a half awake Xetirox and handles responsibility well so the kill is clean and kills quickly.
Oranos cheers on Webster at cricket – they’re bonded.

Day 6

No meat in the Church, wolves like meat.
Wallowing with Werewolves – meant to represent that the wolves like meat. The innocents took this to mean that a wolf was bonded which was completely coincidental.
Broken chair – angry Woolly
One wolf comes in alone – confident Starwulf
Growling wolf, charges in – Woolly in rage blackout
Dragged away – Starwulf handles responsibility well

I was the worst Arch Wolf ever... Of all time. This makes me 0-2 in my first two games, which isn't a great start.

Fun game for the two days I played in although I was uncomfortable in the arch wolf role and really didn't do as well as I wanted to.

Congratulations to the innocents.

Lies, neither of your targets were protected and you only got killed because Oranos role revealed. Also, I didn't win until my 4th game :P You've got plenty of time.

The innocents played a good game, but the fact that I outran my probable death by three days when my probable death was so early in the game and both of my compatriots had already fallen doesn't make the balance in this game look too good. If anyone had gone to the trouble of organizing a double with me and FoF, the game would have been over before it started. I almost did it for the giggles, but decided against.

Later, the clue about the wolf-human match, though it wasn't intentional, utterly ruined any chance of escape. I don't think team wolf ever really had a shot. Still, not a bad first outing, Fighters. Come back anytime.

On another note, as hilarious as it's been, can we stop aping other players in our profiles? It's bloody confusing.

Good luck!

Fighters' Thoughts on the Game:

Overall, I’m not disappointed with how the game went, but I think it could’ve gone better. In terms of evidence I was pleased with the game balance the day before yesterday but the way the innocents interpreted the book evidence completely unbalanced the game. It was my fault for not seeing that they’d take the evidence that way, and for that I apologise to Starwulf, AKA_Thunder and Woolly. Early on I struggled to make the evidence against FateorFatality and Woolly apply to the rest of the group. This is shown by the fact only 1 innocent was executed all game which is one of the lowest numbers I’ve ever seen. I enjoyed trying to mix up my evidence, even though 90% of it was murder or search evidence (personality and possession) which should’ve been lower.

I was pleased the way that the locational evidence worked and that gave each day a slight bit more than just “search the room with the most suspects and work out who to kill” pattern. It also gave the wolves something else to do by distracting the innocents from the real places.

I didn’t enjoy hosting until I actually did the Day 1 write-up. Checking profiles, making a map, updating the player list, who’d sent me PM’s and whose profile was good was a pain. Role PM’s weren’t very fun either but I did enjoy the evidence giving and the write-ups.

I’ll admit that my organisation svcked. I sent AKA_Thunder2 Beast From The Middle East’s role PM instead of the angel one due to copy and pasting errors. I forgot the profiles on day 1 and I regularly forgot to update the dead list and stuff but I’ll make a checksheet for each day next time.

The shop mechanic was fairly unfulfilled due to the hasty end of the game but I felt it did its job of keeping you guys occupied over the double day, so it wasn’t so bad. I was quite pleased with some of the end day dramas as well. We had 3 days which were fairly close and that always makes it much more fun.

So thanks for playing everyone, apart from the Day 6 morning, you were active and generally played well. I hope you all enjoyed playing as much as I did hosting!

It only got confusing when people actually started using names very similar to forum profiles (coughDCcough) :P Either way, I agree. I had fun doing it for a game but that was enough.

Anyway, watch this space for my thoughts on the game later.

Just filler. It was ready to eat before you all got stuck in the Village Hall and he obviously didn't go back to eat it. I failed by not having any sign of it going rotten or anything.

Edit: And what Xetirox said below.

Unlike Woolly, who ate all of his meat, Mrcrazy had a balanced diet, indicating innocence. That was how I saw it, anyway.
