Werewolf form

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 7:07 pm

I'm having difficulty with this form. Meaning, I'm playing a dual wielding light armor character (Nord level 22) and wearing Exquisite Elven weapons and armor and everything I do in beast form is much much weaker than in my human form. I get a lot more damage from attacks. Stronger enemies kill me in 2 hits while in human form they have to hit me more often. My attacks are a tad bit faster than my dual wielding, but seem to do similar or less damage.

Can't seem to find any pros to this form and it basically svcks, because everytime I use it I die. Am I doing something wrong or is beast form actually this useless?

Owns at lower levels, but once you get great equipment it becomes useless

i mainly use it to fast travel without the fast travel !>! but i rarely use this for combat but yah i think the only advantage is the stamina reg to make lots of power attack to drop them to the ground and keep doing dmg without getting any hits in you

*spoiler* there are quest to boost this form but meh :P

hopes this helps

The wolf "shouts", the sprint (and corresponding power attack), and the standing power attack that knocks giants on their asses.

I agree with the above. Always start out with a roar (Fear).

On my master difficulty playthroughs I find werewolf form almost necessary. Its true that they loose power, but being able to stun lock someone (or even groups of people) that can kill you in one shot is more valuable than anything

werewolf form is more about skill than brute force (which is wierd, vampires seem to be more about skill imo)

I find that beast form is best used in humanoid dungeons whether you are low or high leveled.
Especially vampire or filled mage dungeons, where you can kill them in one or two hits usually.
That and the fact that you'll basically have a horde of free health potions lying about on the floor.

But yes for tactics, I suggest sprinting to your target, use fear on them and just swipe at them as they run away.
Remember to fear / retreat and feed upon earlier corpses if targets burn through your health too fast.
So yeah, be smart with it and you'll find the form very useful if you're having any sort of trouble with enemies.

I don't think I've tried the power attacks then because I haven't noticed the stun/knock down thing. It was noted that their attacks would be fast so I focused on that. Bleh the controls are so unresponsive in this game, half the time when I'm holding down the mouse button the power attack doesn't initiate anyway. I'll have to give the shout/power attack a swing. I don't think the werewolf should be weaker than my human form, I'm still at the beginning of the game.

Thanks for the advice.

This is the damage you do as a werewolf, and at certain levels.

1-10 20 damage
11-15 25 damage
15-20 30 damage
21-25 45 damage
26-30 50 damage
31-35 55 damage
26-40 60 damage
41-45 70 damage
45+ 80 damage

One of my favorite topics! Oohhh some tips?

Hide behind walls and roar. the roar effect is a radius and you can fear people through doors, bars, around corners before they even get line of sight on you. Nothing scarrier then a werewolf roaring when you can't see it. Anticipation of being ripped apart, how delightful.

Power Attack. Sprint and power attack can tear someone up pretty good. The moving in any direction with a single button power attack does a clawed upper cut that can send someone flying into a wall and the standing still power attacks haev rather often cut-scene like attacks where you just maul them or bite their throat, they dont always kill the target but unlike feeding, nobody else attacks you till the animation finishes..

Dont feed on corpses while there is still people around. Fear them first or they will stab you while you eat their friend.

If you had weak hps before being a werewolf, your still going to be a slightly weak werewolf, you have no armor and its all about hps, fear and speed. If you really want to clear out a dungeon as a werewolf you got to find that merciless pit in your stomach and find joy in ambushing mages and just ripping their faces off and clickflickflicfkliclkficlkflicclkfi till the room is covered in blood, because the best defense is biting their throat out.

Beware of the undead, most can't be feared and the ones with bows, espiecally Deathlords, they will sometimes one shot you.

Yeah, you need to use power attacks and sprint attacks as werewolf otherwise you'll get crushed against anything that isn't low level.

The two above things make it very very good.

The power attack will do a 100% knockback, which is great for crowd control once you get past level 25 and your fear stops working. Not much damage, but they'll be down for about 10 seconds or so.. plenty of time to get hits in.

The sprinting attack works like the above, except it does a ton of damage and will one hit kill many weaker enemies. It will always knock down too, even on giants. It is a little trickier to pull off because you need to be sprinting in order to do the attack.

When "healing", use roar cancelling. AKA as soon as you start feeding and you get your health, roar to cancel the animation. This makes it so you can "heal" by feeding in the middle of a battle without dieing.

Whenever you aren't doing any of the above, constantly be moving. You are the fastest thing in the game as a werewolf, so use it to your advantage.

Now after all that... it's probably still easier to just wipe the floor clean with an uber gear player against the same enemies. But it won't be as cool :P And werewolf form is excellent for travelling distances, much better than a horse.
