Werewolf: Pirates of the Caribbean

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:12 pm

Hello and welcome to Werewolf: Pirates of the Caribbean and the Curse of the Black Pearl Werewolf. I, Fighters, shall be your host. The last game played was http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1163345-werewolf-brain-damage-day-one/

Werewolf is a murder mystery where your objective is to kill the other team. The 2 teams, werewolves and innocents, have different ways to achieve this objective.

Every day lasts for 22 hours from 6pm GMT to 4pm GMT. Each night the arch-wolf will PM me a target to kill. I will use the wolves’ profiles to leave evidence against them on the write-up and it will be the innocent’s job to hunt them down and execute them. During the day it is the wolves’ job to mislead the innocents and stay alive for as long as possible. Everyone has one execution vote. In order to find more evidence the innocents can search 2 locations a night. Everyone has one search vote. Everyone has one PM that they can send through me, each day.

To assist the innocents there are various roles:

Sneak – Starting on day 2, the sneak will PM me with a target. In the evening he will search that person and be told their role. This happens on Day 2, 4, 6, etc

Angel – Each day the angel will pick 1 target to protect. If the wolves choose to attack the same target, the angel will block the kill or conversion.

Masons – Masons are a pair of friends who can talk freely. However, they will not be notified if the other is converted and they will appear as wolves to the sneak. I will decide how many pairs there are based on game size.

Matchmaker – True love often occurs in the strangest places. Every third night (Starting on day 2) the Matchmaker will bond 2 players together. They will know each others role and have free PMing. If one dies, the heart break will surely kill the other. Likewise, if one is converted the other will follow into evil.

There are 2 evil roles: Arch Wolf and Wolf. The Arch-Wolf is the boss of the wolves and will make the final call on who to kill or convert by PMing me each night. The wolves will succeed the Arch when they die. All wolves can freely PM.

I've lurked in on a couple of these games, seems like fun and I think I know how to play. I'll try it.

Name: Ian McConnor
Age: 31
Build: Fairly average, about 6' tall and around 170 pounds. Not really muscular, but has a decent amount of strength.
General Physical Description: Shoulder length loose black hair, brown eyes, clean shaven. Wears a white shirt with brown vest and brown canvas slacks, as well as brown leather shoes.
Occupation on Board: Armory chief
Relationship to the Captain: Acquainted, however not close. They really only socialize when outfitting for battle or training.
Possessions: Long saber, dagger, straight razor, pouch of chess pieces, and a flask of rum.
Personality: Ian is a very sociable person, and is generally well regarded on the ship. He is fairly jovial and enjoys joking with the other members. However, he is very competitive and will almost always accept a challenge in a field that he he well rehearsed in.
Hobbies: Ian's hobbies consist of what he does as his job. In his spare time he hones his skills with his blades. At night he often drinks with the crew, though also enjoys playing chess with the few other members who know the game.
History: Raised in a port by well-meaning parents, Ian worked at his father's rum distillery from a young age. As McConnor grew older, he found out that his father had a bad history with one of the pirate gangs. His father had once been a member and had left, wishing to lead a much calmer life with a family. Soon after McConnor's 20th birthday, the pirate gang invaded the port with the intention of killing the father, however the son indebted himself to the crew with the condition that they never bothered his family again. He soon came to enjoy life on the ship, and demonstrated excellent ability with a musket. However, soon after joining the crew he had a poor mishap with a rifle. and after that point refused to use firearms. McConnor also proved himself to be skilled with a blade, and after only a few months of training (and gaining the ability to easily best any of the crew members), he gained the position of the armory chief and was placed in charge of all weapons.

I think that's ok, let me know if anything needs changing.

I'm confused about one thing. You say everyone has "One PM that they can send, through you". What do you mean by that? One PM a day they can send to another player, or One PM they can make throughout the entire game? Beyond that, as long as my internet allows, I'm in!

Name: Amos Blackly
Age: 39
Build: Amos is a scrawny man, about 5'9 and 130lbs. Not very muscular whatsoever, he is however very nimble and has extremely good eye-sight
Occupation on Board: Crow's Nest Look-out
Relationship to the Captain: Long time friend from child-hood, Amos followed the Captain to the sea without even having to be asked, mainly because he realized that without the captain, he would be condemned to a life of mediocrity.
Possessions: Sharp Knife + whetstone, Garrote, Looking glass(Not sure what it's called, the handheld singular eye Binocular object), Flint, Pocketful of copper coins
Personality: Amos is, despite appearances, anything but cowardly. He will jump into any fight at the drop of a hat. Ferociousness has often been contributed to him, as well as tempermental, quick-thinking and ruthless
Hobbies: Wenching, entering throwing contests(Amos is an excellent marksman with a dagger), drinking & smoking, and enjoying the occasional book.
History: Amos met the captain at an early age due to getting into a fight with him. Upon being defeated, Amos swore fealty to the captain forever. As they grew up, their bond continued to strengthen throughout numerous conflicts, first with rival gangs in their village, then with the Constabulary, and then finally, with other pirates. Amos cut all ties with his family when he murdered his abusive father before setting out to sea, and torching the house he lived in growing up.

Yes - one PM a day.

Reserving is allowed. However, everyone should be snappish on the Character Sheet submission. Chop, chop!

It's not meant to be difficult to get a single. Executions drive the game, 20% is the standard figure.

I EM SO IN! XD

Name: Jessica "Jess" "Sir" Donally
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Build: A somewhat Slender build and about 5'3 in platformed heel boots 5' without.
General Physical Description: She wraps her chest and, as such, is often mistaken for a man, even by those who know her. Stronger than she appears she's been known to take bigger and "stronger" men by surprise, leaving them dumbfounded when they find their face smashed into wooden planks with her threatening them with the removal of cretian male parts.
Eyes: Green
Hair: Ginger/short
Clothes: Typical of the period plus a blood stained British officer's jacket
Defining features: A snakehead-shaped scar on her forhead
Occupation on Board: First Mate(don't be fooled. Try any [blank] with her and you'll find yourself overboard, strapped to a barrel with a few holes in it)
Relationship to the Captain: Sometimes at odds with his decisions but never the less she follows orders, generally after several harsh/rude remarks that he seems all too happy to ignore
Possessions: Flintlock Pistol, Silver Dagger scavenged from a Spanish Conquistador, Swashbuckler's Sword, Eye patch(for seeing above and below decks, very handy with such a drastic change in light)
Personality: The Irish are well known for their either kind or short attitudes. She has the latter. coupled with her commanding voice and her position on the ship she takes pride in the torturing of British prisoners. When not involved in command or conquer of others she keeps to herself, humming childhood lullabies
Hobbies: A set of Emerald, Ruby, and Spphire marbles found in her portion of the loot. They are always on her and she feels they give her luck.
History: There's not much to tell. Her parents were good-hearted Irish who took in a dying man. When the British entered town her parents were arrested, tried(by tribunal), and hanged for treason for aiding a pirate. After that Jess took an interest in anything that gave her the chance to annoy or torture British officials, giving her the toughness necessary for piracy. Adopting the "snake" as her symbol, she claims to be one of the snakes removed from the Emerald Isles by Saint Patrick.

(BTW FB, you DO realize there's gonna be a lot of .... male couples here, right?) :P

I HAD to get that job in before someone else nabbed it XD

Appears in a puff of foul-smelling, sulfurous smoke. Muha... MUHAHAHAHAHAH!

Name: Robert Blake (Kudos to you if you get the historical reference. In fact, if you don't, I will be highly disappointed in you.)
Age: 23
Build: Tall, broad-shouldered, but light in build.
General Physical Description: With long, flowing black hair hanging down to his shoulder blades and a strong, broad face, Robert is easily memorable. Though his eyes are a simple brown, and his build is unassuming - standing at a little over 5'8 tall - he still manages to carry a striking figure, as he tends to wear clothing that belies his frame in favor of gallantry. Taking advantage of his broader shoulders despite his less than impressive build, he usually wears a gleaming silver briastplate over a fine cream-colored coat, topped off with a brilliant red sash that crosses from his right shoulder to his left hip. Though he also usually wears a resplendent, short reddish cape, he lost this part of his outfit in his battle with the pirates, to the cutlass of the particularly spirited First Mate.

Occupation on Board: Captive
Relationship to the Captain: Hated enemy
Possessions: He has somehow managed to recover his masterfully crafted rapier, though how since it was apparently lost on his ship - now lying at the bottom of the sea - is up for debate. As well, he has the rope with which he was tied, a few scattered bits of leftover food, and a cannon ball that he picked up off deck.

Personality: Robert Blake is arrogant, but in a reserved fashion. Though he looks down on everyone surrounding him - any of the pirates in particular, considering them little but scum - he still retains an air of forced politeness about him, even when insulting them directly. He makes absolutely certain to make as little fuss and as little mess as possible in anything that he endeavors to do, considering perfection and only perfection to be the appropriate outcome. Harbors an intense grudge towards the first mate of the pirates, who was the one to defeat him in single combat prior to his warship getting sent to the bottom.

Hobbies: Robert Blake LIVES his job, and his hobbies - Sport fencing, metallurgy, and astronomy mostly - reflect this. However, he does have one secret hobby that he refuses to let come to light... He enjoys sewing. He even has a particular talent for it, give the man a needle and a few bolts of cloth, and he can crate some wonderful pieces.

History: Robert Blake was one of the more feared admirals on the sea during the mid 17th century, and for good reason. His flagship, the Victoire - ironically named in French instead of English - was nothing less than a 80-gun First Rate ship-of-the-line, a feared sight to any pirate ship to be certain. Unfortunately, Robert's overconfidence about his ship's power - imposing and incredible though it was - would prove to be the Victoire's downfall. Boarded by the Howling Corsair in a daring night operation, Blake's soldiers were overwhelmed and Blake himself taken prisoner after being defeated by the First Mate. Taken aboard the Corsair, along with several of his men, it is thought that they are to be ransomed off when they reach Port Royale.

Name: Trafalgar Law
Age: 20
Build: Tall and scrawny.
General Physical Description: is a lean and muscular man who wears what appears to be a combination of a white-plumed cocked hat with a light orange symbol on his head and a mask over his eyes. Underneath this headgear, Law's hair is reddish brown, with brush-like sideburns. He wears armor on his relatively thin legs and arms consisting of knee-high boots and gloves that go up past his elbows, respectively. The openings to both the gloves and the boots are also secured by the armor, which is rounded for the gloves and a sharp maple leaf pattern for the boots at the front of his knees. On the rest of his body he wears leather pants and a leather shirt. A belt with a large ornately designed circular belt buckle secures his pants. He also wears a black cape, which, from the inside, is crimson-colored, with a white fur lining around the neck(from his days as a navy captain.)
Occupation on Board: Second Mate
Relationship to the Captain: Amicable
Possessions: A saber brought along from his days as a navy man, bottle of spiced rum, an orange, and a jeweled necklace.
Personality: displays a stern, dead-serious disposition most of the time while in the presence of others but in truth he is an extremely laid-back character. He is also, observant and patient and appears to be a pirate who avoids needless violence, especially if he knows that it would cause too much attention.
Hobbies: A Budding Astrologer, Pillaging, Drinking, and Sleeping.
History: A former navy captain for the English fleet. He deserted a promising career to see how the other side lived.

I'm not sure if I'll be coherant enough to join. Sick, but if I'm able to make a profile tomorrow I'll try to get it in. I mean I'm sure I'll be fine by the time the game starts, but not creating a horrible character is somewhat challenging right now.

Name: John Cabbot
Age: 13
Build: Short and wiry, but strong for his size.
General Physical Description: Green eyes set in a weathered face. A mop of brown hair. Wears a brown breeches and a white and blue striped shirt with a red kerchief tied 'round his neck.
Occupation on Board: Cabin Boy/Powder Monkey
Relationship to the Captain: John loathes the captain, and is always looking for a way to escape.
Possessions: A fishknife, a bag of shells and small coin, a small pewter cup, and a battered old bible (KJV)
Personality: John has a quick wit and is a fast learner. Although a very social lad by inclination, John despises the crew and holds himself aloof. Although he hates his life, he has a strong work ethic, and never shirks his duties aboard the Howling Corsair.
Hobbies: John spends much of his free time reading or making carvings out of wood or shells. Whenever he gets a chance to leave the ship, he tries to explore as much as he can.
History: John's father was the captain of a merchant vessel, the Bonny Swan. He took John to sea with him when he was eleven. On their first voyage, the Howling Corsair boarded the Swan, and John's father was killed. John was dragged off by the pirates and made cabin boy by Captain Bellamy, who took a liking to the lad. He has spent the last to years with the pirates.
