Neither are fun. Lycanthropy is a great way to throw a fight by turning into a dumb animal that gets destroyed by any legitimate enemy. I thought at first it would be like Dark Messiah oMaM's Demon Form, where you could switch between your normal form and demon form in a snap for the utility (plus it was damn entertaining to do), but it's a once-a-day power that takes an entire anime-transformation-sequence to enter, and is third-person only. Vampires are just pointless.
And yes, for the record, I'm still a bit salty that Bethesda lied to us about Werewolves. I was so excited to hear that they weren't going to be in Skyrim, but they lied and not only put them in, but forced you to be one for an entire quest line if you wanted to complete it.
If I had to pick one, it'd be Lycanthropy, because you actually do have to pick one, which is dumb. What the Companions questline should have has is an option for "You people are all pathetic scum that rely on your Lycanthropy as a crutch to make up for your lack of warrior skills. You've lost sight of what the Companions were about, and none of you deserve a place in Sovngarde when I kill you" dialogue option, which leads to the PC killing the pathetic, corrupt members of the Companions, then re-founding the entire order and restoring it to its former honor and glory.
It was fun killing the remaining Companions to charge the Ebony Blade, though. Cleansing Skyrim of its Werewolf filth while making myself more powerful was great. Farkas got to live though because he saw reason.
Wow very opinionated aren't you?
From what I understand in how far I went in the companions quest line, they HAVE warrior skills and only use their power in great need.
Are you saying it would have been better if instead they made a form that made you (Like the werewolf form) extremely powerful with seemingly NO drawback at all?
The transformation is one of the FEW drawbacks with the werewolf form, the only other ones being the no regenerating health and not being able to get well rested, not to mention in most of the (good) werewolf myths and movies etc, they had a transformation as well, how could you think they would NOT have one here?
