The Hotel uses a computerised check-in system. There is no guestbook.

Hmmmm. it seems that Jason remains the prime suspect.

Dimitri could also be right in his assumptions about Derek. he was in the area of the stabbing. and he did have a knife

Thank you very much!

This also means that Jason's pencil probably wasn't used.

Someone I am currently suspicious of though is Shimz (cecil). He knows how to hide his true feelings because he’s been a bartender for so long, but left his post because it was too hot. He also doesn’t tolerate nonsense, which contradicts that. He has a switchblade (which probably wouldn’t be effective here--skulls are thick). He has a handkerchief. Not definite by any means yet, but it's something.

Both Jason and Derek were in the lobby.

Jason had a pencil, a pencil was used to write the note.

Derek had a knife, which is pretty incriminating.

it could be possible that Derek stole the pencil from Jason to write the note. Jason could have taken Derek's knife, but that would be more difficult.

It seems it has to be one of them.

Don't forget there point against Derek
Derek is a bartender so could have had a napkin on his person at the time
He writes neatly and takes pride in his work, the note was written neatly
He works well under pressure and Jason does not, this goes with the neatly point

The writing is an indicator of stress and the writer's inability to cope with it. Jason couldn't handle the stress of school and dropped out. Plus, he also had a pencil. I vote in favor of his Execution.

Ima Idyotte

No. He probably left it in his locker in the staff changing rooms in the staff area.

I vote to search the staff area.

if the knife is not in Derek's locker, then it is likely Jason stole it from him.

Hmhm..hahahaaa! Decent enough work! Whoever killed the electrician waited 'til just the right moment. Really sloppy in his execution, though. One stab in just the right place would have been enough. The note was a mistake. In his haste he betrays his own fear. I'll hold my vote for now. I want to see just how far he can take this.

One wound at the top of the head is clean and straight and has stopped bleeding. The rest are located lower down the skull, randomly spaced and angled and not as deep as the top one, these are still bleeding.

I find the wound on top of the head kinda odd. Maybe the first blow was on top of the head. So it seems the person didn't really care about a quick and silent death though. But I think we should search the lounge because it seems like the killer was in a hurry maybe they left something behind .

The security system itself is located in the staff area. The controls are in the casino.

The first floor security office. It wouldn't help much anyway, seeing as the lights were out.
