Werewolves are overrated!

Post » Fri Jun 11, 2010 2:48 am

I play it because I can live another life in another world the way I want. Meaning, either being a vampie or a werewolf. What other free-roaming game with swords allow you to play as a werewolf? None. Yet Elder Scrolls delivered that experience in Daggerfall and Morrowind.

But each has it's owns reasons to play and opinions on what makes a good game. Am I correct?

Seems to me you should be playing on PC if your not already and be happy with being able to make the game pretty much want you want it to be.

The minute Tamriel gets vacuum cleaners and portable sunlamps this wont be an issue.Khajiit houses will still use brooms but,the vampire problem takes care of itself pretty much after that.

More serious yes to werewolves, no to werepigs, werebears or wererats. think about it, its the same but with a different and stupider looking body and some different stats.

No one will ever convince me that werevultures and werecrocodiles would not be completely awesome.

It seems like the game will feature neither, when any fan of the series knows that it should include both. I don't know what Todd was thinking.

"What the hell is a wereboar/werebear? can some one tell me and post a link to a pic of one?"

Okay, so you know werewolves, right? Man turns into wolf? Werebear, man turns into bear. Wereboar, man turns into boar. A boar is like a wild pig.

Well, with werewolves you just don't turn into a wolf, you turn into a humanoid/wolf hybrid looking thing. I was just wandering what that would look like with a bear/boar.

I'm rubbish with computers so I can't link anything for you but I'm pretty sure wereboars were in Daggerfall and werebears are, lore wise, said to be common in Skyrim (more common than werewolves I think) though they haven't appeared in any TES game yet. Werebears also appear in Norse sagas (The Saga of King Hrolf Kraki, Bjorn is a bear by day and a man by night; he was cursed by his step mother) and there's Beorn in 'The Hobbit' who's man by day and bear by night.

http://imperial-library.info/~crodo/unsolved/df/wereboar.jpg is a wereboar as seen in Daggerfall. Werebears have never been in an ES game however.

personally I don′t care what you transform into, as long as it actually feels useful to get it, Vampirism in Oblivion was just worthless, since to gain any benefit of it you purposely had to starve yourself of blood and take more and more damage from the sun, something that made everyday stuff hard, since say store only open at day.

Not saying the werewolf curse shouldn′t have flaws, but at least make it attractive to play.

Well, copy the link of the page you wish to post and click on the 'Insert link". But make sure you highlight a word you wish to use as a p-athway to the link.

Correct. Maybe werebears can be added in the game and get significant health decrease when they get close to the Canis Root. Perhaps during the day you must remove these plants for a safe attack at night?

I would correct his quote to say... Anyone who has read http://www.imperial-library.info/content/daggerfall-on-lycanthropy should know it's possible for Werebears and Werewovles to be in Skyrim. But of course if they were going to implement everything in a province it would take forever to make the game.

Bethesda has their priorities. Lycanthropes are on the table and if they feel it fits, works, and makes Skyrim a better overall game they will implement them.

Just as much as svcking human's blood and devouring people as a werewolf pleases me. See, if they are added in the game, you can enjoy killing them while some of us can enjoy playing AS them and hunting the pathetic prey.

So, werebears have a weakness than other than silver?

I have deleted a few posts. We do not know how the game is going to deal with creatures transforming but it doesn't give anyone the right on these forums to attack other members for their opinions and ideas on how it should be dealt with, nor what werecreatures should be in the game.

One thing is for sure - a werebear could appear here and wreak havoc with posting privileges if any more of it goes on - and canis root will have no effect.

IMO werewolves and vampires are awesome (not the twillight kind of course). I wouldn't mind other werecreatures, but werewolves are the coolest
