oh really because I remember playing Morrowind and I'm quite sure I actually went against ole' Hircine showing that I did in fact still have a brain, but then maybe I was just a special case because the PC is always a special case and that is super annoying. Anyway from what book do you draw this conclusion? pretty sure vampirism is just a daedric curse as well and they keep their brains why couldn't a werebear? also if they are filled with the bloodlust to devour prey, well a bear aint prey neither is a wolf if they met they'd be more likely to turn and go after the little deer behind them since THAT is prey.
I actually find myself disagreeing with you completely. Vampires are the result of catching Porphyric Hemophilia (I could have spelled that wrong). Which is a common disease, although given its not "common" in any sense I don't believe its related all that much to the Daedra. They might have started it, but vampire clans were popular and had a semi strong presence on Vvardenfel and possibly other parts of Morrowind. They were very intelligent and executed plans accordingly.
Yes, as the player we had the choice to disobey Hircine, however I think others did as well because I cant recall it at the moment but there were stories of others curing themselves of lycanthropy. Also on a side note although Hircine controlled his wolves and given its possible be might control all of them. You had to be wounded by a werewolf and contract Sanies Lupinus, which is still a disease. So its possible people transformed but just slipped away and he could care less to bother with them. After all what good is a single werewolf to him? But on the other side of the coin if lycanthropy was huge in Skyrim that would mean a abundance of werewolves and he might be involved.
