Werewolves & Vampires

o.0

true, but still why only have one option? Morrowind did werewolves (never got to play morrowind so correct me if im wrong) and Oblivion did vampires. Im sure atleast one will be in, but im really hoping for both.

Morrowind have BOTH vampires (in vanilla morowind you could join one of three different vampire clans) and Werewolves (Bloodmoon).
In both cases they were real curses, rather than blessings, which is the way it should be.

I'm imagining skyrims vampires to be truly monstrous, pale and wrinkled and clammy with long white straggly hair and fingers turned black from the icy water, with mouths full of needle like teeth and hollow gaunt faces with black eyes...or no eyes at all!

Werewolves or werebears I want to be ragged with lots of dense fur and in appearance truly beast like and ferocious looking,

I really want them to capture a harsh but beautiful land that is truly dangerous and deadly, with this reflected in it's monsters

I hope they allow a werewolf to master their form through some unique werewolf quest. That would allow them to control their transformation but with some limitations. These might be that the longer you avoid transforming, the worse off your mind becomes until you finally crack. This might mean that say a werewolf wizard with high intelligence/willpower would last longer than a warrior.

Sounds good. But I think Lycanthropy should be stricly uncontrollable. Unless of course, Hircine's controls you and tells you to go fetch or kill something in exchange for treats(Additional powers)

I'd love for werewolves and vampires to return but the vampires in Oblivion felt tacked on. It'd be great if there was a quest line for becoming a vampire/werewolf and joining a clan/pack. Alos would like to see werebears especially since we're in Skyrim.

Given the snowy nature of Skyrim, I think werewolves are a must. I'm not even that fond of werewolves in general, but c'mon, the snow just begs for it and I'll definitely do it at least once. Werebears would also be nice (lore-wise)

My take on it is that becoming *either one* should grant you 100% immunity to disease, making it so you can't be both at the same time (though you could 'cure' one, then contract the other).

In particular, perhaps a werewolf can contract other diseases, but all the fiction I've ever read about Vampire's indicated they couldn't get sick. Usually they're undead or immortals (in TES, they seem to be more immortal than undead). The notion of a sick immortal is just silly - they could die from the sickness, hehe.

So, maybe a werewolf could get infected with Porphyric Hemophelia (not sure if I got the name right, but you get the idea), but once turned into a vampire, it should obliterate the Werewolf disease. Hey - that could even be the way to get cured of lycanthropy, perhaps the only cure for lycanthropy is to become a Vamp, then get cured of Vampyrism.

In any case, this isn't without precedent - I don't remember if MW Vamps had immunity to disease, but OB Vamp's get that ability when they become a child of the night.

Not including either would be a large hit to the lore, I feel like they have plenty of room to improve from past games and will.

i dont know if its been mentioned in this thread or not, but i remember reading somewhere on here about vampires that live under the frozen lakes in skyrim and reach through the ice to ambush people (maybe someone can clear this up if im wrong). i always found that interesting and hope its in the game, but i would like to see both vampires and wearwolves in skyrim

I agree with most said here, except the Werewolves attacking each other. I think Hircine is the ultimate leader of the Lycanthropes(Obviouslky), but when there is no divine leader, they have an alpha leader like real wolf packs. Where do I get this? Dagerfall had a mission where a vampire had to kill a Wereboar PACK LEADER and steal his tusk as proof. So, they do have packs.

Werecreature packs have never made sense to me. What do they do, live out their human lives for a few weeks and then somehow know where to assemble on the next full moon just so they can run around in a group for one night? Those afflicted with it are often psychotic and their beast forms are even more psychotic, and I've never heard of those with lycanthropy being somehow capable of sensing who else has it. By nature those people are going to be very reclusive and paranoid, and a pack structure would seem to offer no benefit for creatures too large and voracious to hunt something they can all feed on, as opposed to individuals hunting people, and defying their berserker nature to come together and do so. Even if you decide to have them transforming every night, how does that work with their human phase? A group of thirty naked crazy people frolicking through the woods until it's nighttime again?

As long as I got to control myself or atleast not kill any Important NPC than I would be fine with becoming a werewolf, hell even if I couldn't control anything but the time (but damage would still be done) than I would be fine with it unless like another poster said I gained control of my werewolf side by somehow mastering it than i can control what i do and what not, either way i want werewolves in Skyrim and being able to become one again damit!! :flamethrower:

I would love some serious Vampire and Lycan clan quests. Even guilds that could build upon the lore.

I loved being a vampire in Oblivion and would love to be able to be a hybrid or even a lycan for that matter. Course the hybrid should get the best of both worlds and require a very lengthy and difficult quest to obtain.

Maybe uniting the two clans? Maybe having a Vampire Lycan war. Where you could choose one side or the other or both and play through a very lengthy quest line.

Vampires are kind of a given, they've had some presence in every numbered game in the series. Werewolves... are a bit harder to do, and Bethesda doesn't seem to be willing to put the effort in with them more recently (even the Bloodmoon ones were half-baked, and they were the main focal point of the story in that game). I suppose we'll see, though.

EDIT: Rhekarid, werewolves in the TES series aren't psychotic.

I'd like some vampire bloodlines. Secret societies and all that goodness.

Well one good thing could come out of this, The blood matron was "made" in skyrim, So it could be a possible quest for the vampires, If there implemented that is.

Cyrodiil vampires have a secret society, so secret that it's mentioned in two books but the entire clan is never seen in the game. Thats how secret they are :P

Bethesda knows how bad we want werewolves.

And some are psychotic. NPC that are werewolves during the day are named "Gibbering lunatic", "Wandering idiot", "ravening lunatic". And daggerfall Lycanthropy quests suggest that Lycanthropes suffer from mental insatabilities such as RL lore says about werewolves.

Wacky ice vampires grabbing you from under frozen lakes. This is something I would want.

Also, werewolves would be pretty crunk.

From all the possible new/improved things that Bethesda might implement in TESV (mounted combat, more mounts, beast races that are actually beasty etc etc) werewolves are definitely at the top of my list.

As far as I'm aware there is NO game out there that has good werewolf play (as in being the werewolf, not just having them as enemies). Please correct me if I'm wrong cause if there is such a game out there I would love to know about it.

Bethesda could be the first to make a game with epic werewolveness if they really try (and vampires for the vampire fans but I personally don't care about those bloodsvckers).

Please Bethesda, make it happen!

I think the vampires of Skyrim should be brooding aloof teenagers who drive Volvos and fight werewolves that never wear shirts. And then there could be some girl thats all like ehhh and then the vampire's like meehhhhh and the shirtless werewolf would be all like but I loved you too baby... Than I get bored and throw rocks at cats and the girls all like this is stupid and leaves. Then Stone Cold Steve Austin gives me some beer. Wanna Wrestle Stone Cold? Yeeaahhhh... We get on harleys and ride into the sunset.

The combat feeding only happened because of Vampire Embrace. actually most of what you said is only in that mod...

Yes, you are correct, but, wasn't it MW itself that even allowed combat neck feeding, i.e. feeding while vertical in the first place, that allowed that mod to even be possible? Maybe not. I can't remember.

You should try Unholy Darkness mod. It has combat-feeding and many other features similar to Vampire Embrace.

Believe me, I was eagerly awaiting that mod, but, when I found out (very late) that it had been released, I went to the site to get it, and it appeared that I could no longer get the main .esp files w/out getting the voice-acting files.........know what I mean? So................yeah, not going that route--at least not 'til I see the main mod itself and am satisfied. Sorry.

In fact, I just looked, and the files are not offered currently for legal reasons. Too bad. It looked awesome. Oh well, i'll live.

edit:

Also, doesn't UD really just use camera positioning to make it look like your character was biting the npc, as opposed to MW which was already setup to allow that in the first place? I'm not criticizing the mod, I just don't have it, so, not sure.

edit again: spelling.

Why do people assume that vampires burn in the sun in Oblivion? Hell, just feed and walk in the day and you wont get burned. People were too lazy to feed.

I for one want werewolves. I want to actually eat people instad of clawing them like in Bloodmoon, Werewolf packs would be nice as well as waking up nvde in the morning.
