Werewolves & Vampires

I hope Vampires are in Skyrim and if they are I hope they make them look better I hated how the Female Vampires looked like a man.

Yeah, I think werewolves should belong to tribes or packs whereas it becomes a really long guild questline, whereas Vampires can have their own Clan thing. I don't think the two should be at war or anything like that, simply because that's more of a Underworld Movie thing. TES is different entirely...

THIS

Werewolves=Tribes or packs
Vampire=Clans

Haha, yea, I always remember I had to glitch my way out of the ugly apperance.

A vampire / werewolf mix is impossible in lore terms.

Are you sure? It was possible in Morrowind, bugs aside.

In Morrowind, you could become a Werewolf. In Oblivion, you could become a Vampire. Do you think they'll include both in Skyrim? I was very discouraged from being a Vampire in Oblivion simply because if you didn't feed every day you couldn't go out in the sunlight. Although I highly doubt this, do you think they'll make some vampire / werewolf mix?

Time to educate you. The book, http://www.imperial-library.info/content/daggerfall-on-lycanthropy, is the best and only source we have about were-creatures. Also, you could become a vampire in Morrowind, one of three types no less.

As for Skyrim, we know of a type of vampire that moves through ice and snow in Eastern Skyrim (where it is the most cold)
He wanted to know about the vampires of eastern Skyrim. I told him about the most powerful tribe, the Volkihar, paranoid and cruel, whose very breath could freeze their victims' blood in the veins. I explained to him how they lived beneath the ice of remote and haunted lakes, never venturing into the world of men except to feed...

True to his word, the man returned to my chapel shortly after midnight four days later. There was a fresh scar on his cheek, but he was smiling that grim but satisfied smile of his.
"Your advice helped me very much," he said. "But you should know that the Volkihar have an additional ability you didn't mention. They can reach through the ice of their lakes without breaking it. It was quite a nasty surprise, being grabbed from below without any warning."

As for were-creatures, the two known types in Skyrim will be werewolves (as they're supposed to be everywhere) and werebears (native to Skyrim and supposedly the lycan with the largest population).

Also, vampires cannot be out in the sun, that is established. The only reason the Cyrodiil clan could was because of a deal they made with C. Vile. Everyone else is stuck as nighttime dwellers, but they don't need to feed all the time.

Oh and it's impossible to be both a vampire and a were-creature, as both gain disease immunity upon infection (save for mods and glitches, you dirty cheaters).

And no lycans vs. vampire crap. Vampires may be able to continue to think, but lycans are much different. They are the hounds of the hunter, Hircine. The curse was crafted so that the afflicted would be consumed with an all hungry bloodlust, whose only purpose is to hunt. Hell, if lycan saw another one, the two would likely try to kill each other. The only time lycans will come together and work with each other is when the hunter himself makes his presence (like in BM)

but the major selling point for me is playing as a vampire or a werewolf. What other games let you play as a werewolf? What other console game allows you to be a vampire in a fantasy/medieval setting?
I'm the same way. I looked at Morrowind and said it looks cool, but I wasn't sure I wanted it even though I knew I could be a werewolf. Then the guy said you can be a Vampire too. :celebration: I was sold when he said that.

The trick is becoming infected with both in less than three days.
Also, in gameplay terms, in Morrowind you would gain the Werewolf disease by a script during the main quest, and you become infected even if you were a vampire.

Ok, I agree its pretty far fetched. But I like the idea o f an hybrid even if its impractical.

If they are implemented I hope that they are implemented a bit better. The idea was good in the other games.. Werewolf worked the best, forcing you to roll play the part a bit more.. But vampire just didn't feel right in either game. I think It's probably only because of the animations that didn't make it feel right though. I think Bloodlines had come out about the same time and I really wanted my vampire to really reflect what I thought of as a vampire. Jump on somebody and drain their blood animations.

I agree with most said here, except the Werewolves attacking each other. I think Hircine is the ultimate leader of the Lycanthropes(Obviouslky), but when there is no divine leader, they have an alpha leader like real wolf packs. Where do I get this? Dagerfall had a mission where a vampire had to kill a Wereboar PACK LEADER and steal his tusk as proof. So, they do have packs.

"Werewolf worked the best" What are talking about?! Werewolf was the worst. They didn't even behave the way lore said they were suppose to.

I hope they allow a werewolf to master their form through some unique werewolf quest. That would allow them to control their transformation but with some limitations. These might be that the longer you avoid transforming, the worse off your mind becomes until you finally crack. This might mean that say a werewolf wizard with high intelligence/willpower would last longer than a warrior.

Yes but than what would happen if you didnt transform? I mean if you didn't after you masterd it than your statues would go down insanity like for example your states when you changed (in master form or just always as a werewolf) in acrobatics would be high like 90 or something than if you decided not to change for awhile than the state would go down to lets say 20 points from whatever it is in Human form, so like if the acrobatics for u in human form is 40 than it would go down to 20..

I hope Bethesda goes daggerfall again and gives us the option to become either a werewolf or a werebear! Both fit the lore for skyrim..

And vampires are almost definetly going to be included, but it would be good to see the return of the clans and stuff, with a Nordic twist

will vampires/werewolves be in TES:V?

Also, will the Volkihar vampires show up?

edit: this is not a twilight thread, take it to community.

*hopes*

Really hope that theres a tribe of werewolves/vampires, or a city or something of them that would welcome you into their ranks. In oblivion you went vampire, you were a lone wolf. Other vampires wanted you dead, as well as everyone in the factions you had joined.

there should be a romance side-quest that lets you pick which side you want to join... and vampires should sparkle....

ew no. I considered Oblivions vampires to be the "last good vampires" thanks to Myers. If anything the vampires and werewolves should be similiar to the ones in past elder scrolls games, but enriched with Skyrim lore.

... and that was the last time Bethesda Softworks made a game...

Vampires- most likely. They've been featured in practically every Elder Scrolls game. Werewolves... maybe. Not sure on that part.
