Werewolves & Vampires

Post » Tue Aug 25, 2009 8:21 pm

In Morrowind, you could become a Werewolf. In Oblivion, you could become a Vampire. Do you think they'll include both in Skyrim? I was very discouraged from being a Vampire in Oblivion simply because if you didn't feed every day you couldn't go out in the sunlight. Although I highly doubt this, do you think they'll make some vampire / werewolf mix?

I hope we can be either a werewolf or a vampire and in choosing to be one it affects the way people react to you. Hopefully not so much of an "Ahhh there's a Werewolf/Vampire! kill! kill!" sort of thing.

In Morrowind, you could be both. ;)
EDIT // Damn, Kalarn was way faster than me.

But I do hope that in Skyrim the vampire clans and quests are brought back and that they have werecreatures and the possibility to become one.

I hope there are both. I hope it's like Morrowind's vampires, where you could easily play the game without even realizing you could become a vampire, and be completely unaware of all the related quests. Kind of gives being a vampire the dark/underground edge I think it should have.

Being a vampire was boring in Oblivion. The only real quest was the cure.

I really really hope there will be the Werewolf disease and Vampire disease, and a reason for people to be Werewolves or Vampires, in Oblivion you became a Vampire and didn't do much else, It would be really awesome with, Vampire and Werewolf specific Guilds.

I'd love to see both return, maybe even the wereboars from Daggerfall. If we're lucky they'll even have specific quests for them as in Morrowind.

You guys do know that the Vampires would be back to being hated like they were in Morrowind because only Cyrodills Vampires could hide withen society. Werewolves better be back >.<

I hope they clear whether vampire/werebeast hybrids are possible. In Morrowind it was more or less so, but without a certain mod it caused a glitch (werewolf with human vampire head).
Yeah, it sounds like a bit stupid or cliche idea, but such a thing suits a 'complete monster' type of character: during the day he has to hide or he will burn alive, during the night he has to kill or he will starve to death... When playing with an hybrid in Morrowind I also had to use a 'full-moon only' werewolf mod or else it was impossible to advance in the game, only interaction with NPCs would be killing them.

Any idea if beth knows how much we want werewolves? I know they weren't going to say anything about what is in the game during the old podcasts before Skyrim was announced and all but they completely threw the question to the wind and wouldn't give a answer.
So I was wondering if they know how many people want Werewolves to be back specially since it is in Skyrim and all and if they even read these boards or threads like this?

Sorry if these are hard to answer questions just wanted to get some opinions and such on the matter that has bugged me since Morrowind/Oblivion

Werewolves and vampires. Might seem over rated from all the crap in the media (twilight) but morrowind had both and did it well. I'd like to see them again.

I think they know.

M'aiq knows they know.

I would love to see Werewolves again, especially since this is Skyrim (really just the larger version of Bloodmoon probably). Maybe even an additional mystical creature that Bethesda could add to further increase appeal.

The only reasons I bought the Elder Scrolls game was to be a vampire and a werewolf. I hope they have them in SKyrim, it's likely since almost Elder Scrolls game had them. But if there are no werewolves or vampires, I will NO buy this game.

They are very much aware of the fervor of lycanthropy amongst their fan base (Ala Bloodmoon), and vampirism for that matter.

Bloodmoon was of course centered upon Hircine. It would be interesting if this is a Deadric Prince of great influence in Skyrim as Azura was to Morrowind and Mehrunes was to Oblivion.

So a Twilight fan, eh? You might as well leave these forums as I am 100% sure we will not have any new werewolf/vampire races in character creation; you can become either, but there are not going to be werewolf/vampire wars.

And definitely no moody, teenage love scenes.

When did he say anything about twilight> he just wants werewolves AND vampires, I want both as well but I HATE twilight....So just because someone wants vampries and werewolves doesn't mean they like Twilight crap, I mean hell its the only reason why I enjoy BloodMoon is because you can become a werewolf in it O_O

Who???O___O I am just waiting for the day when they say "Oh guess what, because of demand we have werewolves again" or if they will just kinda slip it in thru DLC or something, either way I would love it but would love it more if they announced it sometime before the game comes out....I will buy the game even if it doesn't have them in it but if it doesn't have them in it my RP is ruined* :sadvaultboy:

If the only reason you want to buy a game is because there are werewolves and vampires, there's a pretty logical conclusion that can be drawn. If I was wrong, please refute that.

I hate Twilight as much as anybody else. And when did I mention werewolf/vampire wars? Sounds good in some stories like Underworld, but in the Elder Scrolls, not so much.

I did like the character creation idea though. Would be fun to choose a vampire clan to start off in or a Werewolf(Not werewolf clan).

This is exactly why I hate that woman that wrote Twilight. Look at the thousands of vampire books and many vampire movies out there. And when someone says they like vampires and werewolves, that abomination of a franchise comes into play.

I like the Elder Scrolls cause of free-roaming, lore and character creation, but the major selling point for me is playing as a vampire or a werewolf. What other games let you play as a werewolf? What other console game allows you to be a vampire in a fantasy/medieval setting?

That would be very interesting and sorry if I said he and really you are a she? lol
I don't know how it would work out with being a werewolf in character creation but I also find it to be interesting concept...

Your very welcome :3

There is no way that Bethesda is unaware of how much people want werewolves. They've definitely been one of the most frequently-repeated requests/suggestions/demands the past few years. Plus, if I remember correctly, Skyrim has more of a "lycanthrope problem", so to speak, than the other provinces. People would lose their minds if there weren't any.

They made Bloodmoon purely because they knew people wanted werewolves. I'm fairly certain they wont have forgotten since then.
