That is a good idea...as long as there is no Twlight reference.

the hardest part would be to balance it... how to make it interesting without just making virtually 'godmode'.

I am more hoping for werebears than werewolves. Werebears would be freaking awesome to play as in Skyrim!

Well according to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:On_Lycanthropy werebears are the most common lycanthrope in Skyrim so maybe we can become that or if lucky both since werewolves are everywhere.

believe it or not I'm probably the only person on earth who does not like vampires nor werewolves

its cool to have them in game, I just won't be one even if I can :P, its cool to fight them however, and I hope they have better death animations this time around (vampire turns to dust, werewolf turn back to human)

Werewolves don't turn back into human form when they die in TES. One particular in-game book specifically mentions this ("Werewolves do not revert to their human forms upon death, despite what legends will tell you." - http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:On_Lycanthropy), and both Daggerfall and Bloodmoon had them keep there were form when you killed them in game. I actually like that about TES's werewolf lore.. never particularly liked the whole change-back-on-death thing.

Vampires turning to dust would be kind cool, though.

As long as you don't look like either Yogi bear or Wile E Coyote's cousin then i'm cool with it cuz the werewolves in morrowind looked like the latter.

Yeah, thats a good book and if anyone really wants to contribute something thoughtfully they should read it. Not that my "I want werebears" posts are thoughtful though :P

Anyone ever play Vampire the Masquerade/Vampire the Masquerade bloodlines? They had some preety nice death animations and attributes for vampires, although I have read the canon about Skyrim Vampire clans, but some attributes could be added I suppose, like in combat vampire feeding, rather than feeding on a sleeping victim as in Oblivion. The vanilla vampire feeding in Morrowind was just horrible, although some mods improved it.

I played that game fanatically but their aspect was different than this game I guess. since vampires are werewolves are going to play a small role in the game (unless an expansion comes up) then I don't see them spending a lot of time on extra animations and such stuff. It would be cool but a game can only do so many things

I'd love to see things like the feeding animations from that game.
I especially liked the female ones. :D

There was almost no point in being a vampire in oblivion. It made you hideous, no one would talk to you (If you didn't feed. Which was difficult if you weren't a stealth character.), Sunlight damage was too high..

There's almost no downside to being a werewolf that I can think of other than transformations every full moon.. and a ravenous hunger for flesh. xD

But if they fixed up vampires a bit in skyrim, and added werewolves, that would be amazing! :D

Wasn't that hard most downside was being Ugly and people being revolted of you

They Should fix that up maybe make Vampires look a little better Blue eyes or something they just look so ugly
Werewolfs after couple transformations maybe learning to control when you turn or something that would be cool

Yes for sure, make the vampires look...not old? Idk I don't want my character to look in her 20's than all of a sudden when she becomes a vampire look 120 -__- also it just didn't make much sense to have them look old as [censored] unless it is part of the Lore that I am missing out on saying they look like a paper cut could slice open their paper skin -__-

I like the idea about after x certain transformations we could be able to control it more, something like that would be kool

From the sounds of it, according to lore, the skyrim vampires or volhikar are going to be even more rebucted by society and be even more hideous (in a ferocious kind of way)

from the lore of them living in burrows under lakes I imagine them as pale, blue skinned. With long lanky white hair and totally black eyes with talons on their fingers. very skinny, almost skin and bone appearance with cheekbones distinguishable from cheeks and mouths full of long needle like teeth, adapted to holding onto slippery prey like fish or people who they pull into their lairs through the ice of the lakes.

Also in the lairs to make up for societys shuns have there be little societys with maybe about 10 or so in each lair. A smithy, Mage/enchanter, general goods merchant and then a few quest givers. Also an illusion spell similar in concept to hircines ring that would revert you to human form for X amount of time so you could visit cities, do main and other quests etc. But with consequences of removing ring/spell wearing off you becoming a known volhikar and like a werewolf, immediatly becoming KOS to all npcs.
