It's the Talosdamned Skyrim, if there aren't were-things there, then Bethesda will make the greatest blasphemy in their own lore :P

Vampires! I'm obsessed with Vampires, dunno why but I love every crappy book or film that has something to do with them because I find them interesting but surprising I didn't take the chance to be a Vampire in the last game because to me It didn't feel like it was something amazing or interesting enough.

Way to slip in an anti Oblivion sentiment when the current discussion didn't call for it at all. I'm not saying that Oblivion doesn't have its faults, but aren't your numerous topics on the matter enough of an avenue for you to vent your anger at a four year old game?

wow u got him there :/ Yes this is not a place to talk about anti Oblivion matters and so forth, there are tho many other topics dedicated to that on the main forums.
Happy Hunting.

Everyone, I think this might be the last thread so make it count:) I just don't see a reason for me,myself to make another one *this is the 3rd revival after all* because there doesn't seem to be anything more to talk about that wasn't brought up in the 1st thread.
Hopefuly it will be revived *if this one even gets a post lock like the rest* after the GI is out I am sure most of us are waiting on *please come before classes start on the 19th, please come before classes start on the 19th,please come before classes star......... :turtle: *

Kinda offtopic BUT why isn't there a Beth (Bethesda) one of these? :fallout:

I know this doesn't fit the lore but who's to say a creature can't be added to fit a new area of the game, ay ? so...having said that... I'd like to see some Bigfeet...Bigfoots ? in this area...and yeah why not be able to turn into one ? I would name mine Sully...hehe...

Someone has already made a second thread, and had to be redirected here. This is the kind of topic that will be talked to death and back again until the game is released.

Honestly? I see werecreatures as a barometer of Bethesda's overall quality of games. We've gotten vampires in DF, MW, and OB. We only got werewolves in MW, werewolves and wereboars in DF.

Basically, if Skyrim does not have werewolves and werebears, I will be disappointed. If they do not have werewolves, I may reconsider my stance as a fan of the series.
Melodramatic, I know, but I have my reasons.

1. It represents the removal of previously employed game elements. Bethesda should never, never, never, never NEVER cut content. Whether it's weapons, guilds, spells, werecreatures, unless there is an in-game reason it should not be included (chitin armor, Morag Tong was native to MW, does not need to be in OB) or if it was truly a useless and unfun feature (nothing I can think of has ever fit these criteria)

2. It goes against the lore. Numerous sources have stated throughout the games that werewolves AND werebears exist in Skyrim, and are in fact quite common.

3. It shows they care about the little things. Will being a werewolf effect the main quest? Probably not. But I'm not playing TES for a linear RPG. I'm playing TES because it is (or was) the series that let me do whatever I wanted.

*snip*

Excellent post, and I agree on most points, particularly the third at the end. Having said that, Morrowind didn't get werewolves till its second expansion, so even if they (disappointingly) don't feature in Skyrim initially, detailed werecreature-specific DLC would still be a possibility.

I think a lot of people are excited about what Bethesda might have done with werecreatures and vampires in Skyrim, but given that there's at least a little established lore for both, and that their inclusion seems more likely than not, most of us probably just don't have much more to say about them. Personally I'll be satisfied if art resources for Volkihar and werewolves are in and suitably wicked-looking, but mine's a modder and mod-user's perspective.

I think it's fairly plausible that we'll see both vampires and werewolves, which makes me a happy nerd :)

Me to!!:) Like you all didn't know that tho :obliviongate:

I just hope in the GI issue that it will have SOME info on werewolves or something, I mean it shouldn't take 14 pages to just talk about story and or engine or whatever, add in some nice info like if werewolves/vampires will be in and what they will look like and play like.

Not really possible since being either a Werewolf or Vampire makes you immune to any diseases.

I can still try... and probably die in the process >,<

I really hope they'll have questlines to go with, that it wont change our character appearance (too much、For vamps anyways) and that interaction between Us and NPCs Is more realistic.

Skyrim is the home of Lamae Bal-I hope I spelled her name correctly- the Matriarch of all Vampires. Werewolves and Werebears should also be included and be playable in turn-with quests like in Morrowind.

I really hope we see Hircine in a big way. Then you can almost guarantee werewolves.

If Vampires do make a return ( which is likely ) then I feel they need to be similar to the vamps in MW. First time I met one of those things I almost had an accident. The rolled eyes, and the terrifying speed.

I'd like to see them out in the open too, perhaps even hunting you during the night.

Because getting killed and eaten by a Human monster wolf thing, equals being lucky

I hope Vampires are in Skyrim and I hope they redesign the Female ones as I don't want them looking like a man.

I want both, but I also want faction quests for them similar' to Morrowind's vampire factions, and a way to feed without having to actually kill/bite another NPC. It can be buying vials of blood for outrageous prices for all I care, but having to kill an NPC every night was a huge pain in the ass as a Morrowind werewolf for various reasons. Also, there are some people who like to play, err, passive vampires I think...

Oh, and I will never roll a vampire or WW character if they're super fugly or overly sixed up, balance is a good thing.

I think he was lucky in a "OMG I SAW BIGFOOT, FO REELZ" sense.
