That would be interesting. And it could just be one of the advantages of turning into one. Being a werebear, you might be significantly much stronger than and almost as fast as the werewolves are, but you don't have your own posse to back you up (rather, it might be wise to not approaching your fellow werebears if you don't want to get severely maimed by your all too belligerent solitary brethren).

To be a werebear = going solo, to be the selfish glutton that you are, the lone king of the hill.
To be a werewolf = being awesome with your bros, bullying everyone in your territories while high-fiving everyone in your crew at the same time.

I'm okay with this.

That's exactly what it would be. Werebears are indeed selfish gluts who kill anything they can eat. Werewolves are solitary, but some lore suggest they run in packs sometimes. I personally would love to see a small werewolf tribe. Vampires have their own clans and members. Werewolves should too.

And if you are un-aligned with a pack, as a werewolf, when in werewolf form, other werewolves will either ignore you, or help you fight(both can happen when enemies are near), but if you are injured, they will attack you, hoping for an easy meal.

Cannibalism within werewolves?

Yup. Predator instinct. They see blood, they are hungry, they will go for food.

This topic has vampires. If this game has vampires (I hope its not those fake ones in Twilight!!!) have some quest please for them. In Oblivion I am a vampire now what am I going to do. Stay away from the sun (Twilight!!!), svck blood and get shun by NPC's. I like the cure part. I know its a bit long on the tooth. Then you get this bug . A 25 year maiden ended up as a 65 year old bag of bones.

I sorry for the older posters that I called you old bag of bones.

A bit long on the tooth? "Blade" reference?

Also, the Vampires in Oblivion can walk in sunlight(Without that sparkling nonsense) and they do not get shunned by NPC's unless well fed. It's in lore, two books in-game talks about these Cyrodilic vampires. I personally want them to make a return to Skyrim. I want to do quests, walk among NPC's who still thinks I am human.

I think i would have liked vampires more in http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://wiki.aqstats.com/images/b/bc/WerePyre_Form.png&imgrefurl=http://wiki.aqstats.com/wiki/Werepyre_Armor&usg=__QpbyNEdk3HOSKUlzEAArQaX0pCg=&h=422&w=422&sz=80&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=KU34AFSIhq8CaM:&tbnh=126&tbnw=126&ei=zg1hTaTyF4v2swPO-rDPCA&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbattleon%2Bwerepyre%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D673%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=121&vpy=177&dur=738&hovh=225&hovw=225&tx=120&ty=101&oei=zg1hTaTyF4v2swPO-rDPCA&page=1&ndsp=16&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0 if instead of having to feed every day it was extended to weekly or once evvery three days, it was too much of a hassle for my vampire characters to have to feed every day.

Maybe the were-wolves turned to packs because of territory wars with were-bears? personally, i love the idea of were-bears being big one beast army compared to were-wolves, who in turn are the same thing compared to most vampires. Though im sure a single Volkihar could stand on there own with a were-bear given the conditions were right. sorry if some of this was mentioned before i only read the last page of this thread.

Volkihar live with others in their remote lakes. So far, we know of no other Vampire clan in Skyrim other than the Volkihar, but I'm sure there is more. Because Volkihar was mentioned of being the vampires from Eastern Skyrim. We have no word of the vampires from western Skyrim.

Now, competition between Lycanthropes would be interesting to see. A Lycanthrope strains battle.

Really? I would prefer being able to reach through ice and freeze with my breath... and walk into riverwood and sloughter everyone there... mmmm.... food... but I'd still favor being a werebear...

That sounds cool. I would play as the Volkihar also. But the Oblivion vampires had much lore but lacked gameplay elements like the clan that they are said to be. And by what ive read, they are the top cats in Cyrodiil and the only clan because they destroyed all the other ones. I would play as a werewolf, never liked the idea of being a werebear much, but I would still try it out.

Well didn't todd say they were adding the random encounters from fallout over to TES? it would be awesome to see a pack of (were)wolves fighting a Were-bear.

Some variation would be better than Skyrim being limited to one particular type of vampire or werebeast. I can see a system like Morrowind's vampire clans working well, where each vampire or werebeast clan/tribe would have very distinctive traits.

Werebeasts
  • Werewolf Clan (wolf-y)
  • Werebear Clan (bear-y)
  • Wereshark Clan(!)

Vampires
  • Volkihar Tribe (otherworldly, monstrous, unsubtle)
  • 2nd Vampire Tribe (beautiful, insidious, subtle)
  • 3rd Vampire Tribe (some other theme)

Weresharks in Skyrim?

2nd vampire tribe could be the Order tribe. Manipulative, deceitful, the "Vampires that pull some strings behind politics" type of thing.

I think there should 2 werecreature types in Skyrim. Werewolf and werebear. Werebear are most common in Skyrim, but werewolves are also seen and mentioned to be in Skyrim.

I agree with you; I just put wereshark in there for fun to make up three of each. Werewolves, werebears, Volkihar and the Order tribe you mentioned would be sufficiently awesome. There certainly needs to be a rival, very different (political, masquerading) vampire tribe to the Volkihar, to create a really good player vampire experience.

Yea, in Morrowind we saw three different clans with different powers. The Berne are stealthy vampires who use paralysis to feed on an enemy, the Quarra are warriors and blood-thirsty "barbaric" vampires and the Aundae are dark vampire mages. It would be great to see a new turn in Skyrim with rival clans with different powers and abilities.

If the order vampires are in-game it would make for some cool quests if they have huge political influence and wants Skyrim to stay a part of the empire (so they can walk freely there... and attempt to illiminate the volkihar once and for all)...

Honestly, I'd like to see vampirism in TES get overhauled and expanded to bring in more traditional themes, and more possibilities in general (as "monsters" or characters). I don't know what, or how much of that sort of thing would fit established Elder Scrolls lore, though.

Although intended for a rather different setting, I designed a bunch of vampire stuff on my blog a while back (http://darklythroughglass.blogspot.com/2010/09/tet-lore-vampirism-part-3.html), which is the kind of variation I'd love to see. (Parts http://darklythroughglass.blogspot.com/2010/08/tet-lore-vampirism-part-1.html and http://darklythroughglass.blogspot.com/2010/08/tet-lore-vampirism-part-2.html are less relevant, just in case anyone's interested.)

It does seem that really detailed vampire (and werebeast) stuff is more suited to implementation via mods, but I guess there are a lot of vampire & werewolf fans on consoles too. I just hope Bethesda support them enough to get some really good models in the game.

I'd like the return of the cyrodilic vampires. Maybe they migrated to skyrim because cyrodil was unifying against the vampire threat a little too much in the past 200 years. Maybe they could be the order tribe because they could actually be politicians?
