Werewolves&Vampires 7

Vampire idea.
Vampires should get slow health regeneration if they are well fed.

Doesn't really need further explanation I think...

Definitely. I'd like to see some of the more traditional and extreme vampire traits in Skyrim; the Vvardenfell clans and especially the Cyrodiil vampires seemed kind of watered-down in power. I expect a clan like the Volkihar would have more dramatic (and monstrous) abilities. Climbing on sheer surfaces, water breathing, levitation, incorporeality, regeneration, great resistance to frost damage, increased hand-to-hand damage (claws)...

Some really cool things could be implemented through vampire-specific perks, too.

Is it only me who wants Vampires to have claw like fingernails? Also i want to see them rip the throats out of their vics not just leave to puncture wounds-__-

Well, shouldn't any vampire be able to breath underwater technically? They are dead, it's not like they need to breath...
I'm all for claws, although they should only be seen in hand to hand combat and when you are not wearing any gauntlets. Although admittedly that would not really matter since the Volkihar don't need to hide in society...

True true, I wonder how being a Volkihar is going to work out? I mean are you just NOT going to buy anything or talk to anyone? How would you get your quests? See this imo is when it becomes gamebreaking and why I think they would have a reason to NOT add vampires in the game because unlike werewolves atleast we have a human looking side.......*wow i just said "we" in a werewolf topic XD*

so I wonder how being a Volkihar is going to play out, we just gonna wait till each Quest giver goes to the lake, scare them than force them to give us the quest or walk into town and have everyone try and kill us and end up killing us???O_O

Maby you could enter town and interact with people only if your face is covered with a hood or cloke, and your sharp pointy nails covered with gauntlets

It would be pretty cool if there are several factions for both vampires and werewolves.
Forgive me for not remembering names at the moment. I'm accepting correction.

The vampire assassin clan that is in rivalry with the dark brotherhood
an anti werewolf vampire clan cliche'
a warlock vampire clan. basically like necromancers and use a lot of dark magic. Maybe the leader is in a castle like Dracula?

an anti vampire werewolf gathering cliche'
free roam innocent people that became infected and unintentionally become overwhelmed and out of control werewolves once in a blue moon. (should all werewolves change only on full moons?)
werewolves that hunt in packs, generally coordinate attacks on villages for food.

Vampire slayers
Expert Hunters that are accustomed to fighting werewolves and other beasts

Other werecreatures
The return of the wereboar?
the rumored weresharks?

imo your werewolf hair should be based on the colour of your normal hair. (argonains being white)

also- HUGE BONUSES. not small bonuses and huge negative impacts like in morrowind, or small bonuses for oblivion and small negative impacts. i want HUGE bonuses

both vampires and werewolves should run twice as fast as they were human

super jumping- one and a half stories for both vampires and werewolves.

bonuses to sneak for vampires and werewolves (unchanged werewolves too)

slight bonuses in strength for unchanged werewolves, massive changes for recently fed vampires and werewolves.

vampire-ism/werewolves terrify opponents

hand to hand bonus.

vampires get a lure spell that tells a npc/creature to come to it, aswell as a strong charm spell

but they should also have big negative impacts

vampires in sunlight should have steam come off of them (because the sun is burning it off). they need large robes to hide from the sun in and the world is viewed very bright.

to avoid hate and a bounty vampires need to be covered in either darkness or have their faces and hands covered. at a distance this shouldn't matter though. if the town doesnt know the pc before they were a vampire then a separate bounty should be developed .

additionaly, there should be 3 clans at least. this is my suggested clan list

volkair (the lake guys) - live in villages underneath frozen lakes and can travel through the ice without breaking it.- vampires have a drowned look.

get a constant effect spell of water breathing and ice moving (traveling through ice as if it were water).

bolkair (or whatever you want to call it) - woodland clan that drop down from trees and paralyze their pray.- goblin in apearance

get an agility bonus and a paralyze power

marhia - mountan woodland clan - get a demonic apearance.

get stronger and have an easier time with fire spells.

Considering vampires are so popular now, I think this game would miss out on a great opportunity by not adding vampires into the game. And actually making it fun to play as one instead of annoying and almost outside the game.

It wasn't a vampire clan technically that were against the Brotherhood, it was more of a splinter faction composed of vampires led by Greywyn Blenwyth who signed on just so he could overthrow the Black Hand and turn everyone into vampires. He formed the Crimson Scars, which they got their names from slicing people's neck with jagged blades! They were pretty powerful according to Greywyn that not even the Dark brotherhood knew about them. Until Silarian decided to betray the Crimson Scars because he was pretty whiney about being a vampire, so he tattle-taled on the Crimson Scars and the Dark brotherhood killed the Scars when they were all sleeping. So far we know the survivors were Rowly Eardwulf and Greywyn. Rowly survived and stays at the Wawnet Inn, but Greywyn was killed just before Sithis was going to accept the Scars. Pretty messed up if you ask me, Greywyn had to renouce is vampirism in order for his blood-svcking faction to get accepted, as soon as he was going to pray to Sithis, they stabbed him in the back. Ha.

But I would like to see the Scars come back. Maybe rising after the chaos in the Dark Brotherhood started in the Oblivion events. I mean what's 200 years for a vampire?

A vampire assassin clan would be great to be rivals of the Dark Brotherhood, especially the Crimson Scars.
Some might say the Morag Tong, but frankly they are so boring I hope they died with Morrowind.(I'm pretty sure people only want them back because of nostalgia's sake)

Besides this Vampire clan would get lots of awesome stealthy spells. :D

I predict that when the game is released on 11.11.11 that the two most wanted things (that haven't been confirmed) in the game will not be present in Skyrim, but instead the first downloadable content for the game will be about the Hunt of Hircine and will add both the ability to become a werewolf and spears to the game as they both fit extremely well with it.

Then again perhaps Bethesda won't go down that road again because that's basically what the Bloodmoon expansion for Morrowind was all about but yeah.. why not?

Werewolves make no sense at all whatsoever lore wise unless a hunt of Hircine is in progress(Correct me if I'm wrong on that) so basically werewolves won't be in unless this happens.. of course there would be no room for something like that in the main game, even a very long side questline would not do it justice.. with a spear being Hircine's main weapon they would have to add them of course.

What does the forum community think of my prediction?

Where did you get the information that werewolves are always there?

For other "werecreatures" I have no information, but as I understand it from a lore standpoint(Which Bethesda follows very well) werewolves can only be around during a hunt of Hircine because he is the one that creates them, I also understand that they the curse disappears when Hircines hunt is over.. am I wrong?

If I am, please link me your source

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Lycanthropy tells you all you need to know.
Hircine created the disease, but Werecreatures are always there.
Also, http://www.imperial-library.info/content/daggerfall-on-lycanthropy and http://www.imperial-library.info/content/hircine.

PS: Werewolves & Vampires has not reached over a 1000 pages, not even close.

Thanks man that's all really interesting stuff to read! Thanks :D

Also yeah I know it hasn't reached near 1000 pages, someone said that in one of the topics and I put it into my sig before realizing how silly it was and that it was nowhere near there :P Just haven't been bothered to change it yet

After reading that stuff, it would seem lore-wise Werebears seem just as likely as Werewolves.. I think we should have both to be honest! xD

To be honest, I think there should only be werewolves.
Despite werebears and such being lore-friendly; I don't think they should be in... simply for the reason that I don't think they would fit, and that this whole "were"-thing would be overdone.

Please elaborate on how Skyrim, the province where werebears are MOST COMMON, should find them suddenly "not fitting in?" Of course they would fit! :P

Werepyre please. Werewolf form with giant bat wings bwahahaha.

Seriously though, there will be vampires for sure. From the way Todd talked, there will be both but he doesn't know to what extent so we may not get our frost vampires.

I don't know if the Volkihar will be in the game. Bethesda can pull the "They are extinct" thing on us.

EDITED. My Information is classified. Find it out on your own :D

Oh yea they do. And they were pretty cool assassins. They obviously killed people without the DB finding out.
