Werewolves vs vampires

Post » Mon Oct 11, 2010 1:03 pm

It would be awesome if you could choose between the two and fight for that side. obviously not kill all the other side, but make your side have the more people. then have follow up quests of the other side rising up or having a large concentration in a spot and you and a couple other "friends" eradicate them. kind of like two opposite guilds.
And once your either a werewolf or vampire, you could have the option to turn your victim once every month or week. for example, if your a vampire, either once a month or once a week the box that appears when your gonna feed will say (1) Feed (2) talk/pickpocket (3) turn.
I didn't know no what being a werewolf was in Morrowind was like so i'm gonna guess when you attack someone you don't kill them or eat them
I would want to be able to get rid of the disease, because i got tired of being a vamp in OB. All though if its like i mention above with the sort of "guilds" would cause random enemy encounters like with the Mythic Dawn.
And in OB, i found you can't be turned into vamp more than once so if you get tired of the disease, then want to be one again, you couldn't( without mods). And again, if it's like the "guilds", you'd have to to something to redeem yourself
Or be able to be kicked out of the "guild" or you just don't join them and go on your own killing rampage.

Thoughts?...

There is no evidence in The Elder Scrolls to suggest that Vampires and Werebeast are any more antagonistic toward each other than any other being or creature that crosses the others path.

You've been reading a narrow selection of books and watching a narrow selection of movies, then. Step outside the Underworld/Twilight "comfort zone" and there's a whole world of vampires and werewolves that aren't waging an eternal battle of evil versus...uh...other evil.

Not liking the idea, Underworld and Twilight have their own games and I'm quite happy for the "battle of the nightfreaks" to stay there, thank you very much.

No, not Twilight, what i was talking about was only like Twilight in the fact that there's werewolves and vampires. If you watched it, think kind of like Being Human(SyFy), except werewolves aren't the lower class, they're equal. mixed with Underworld. so kind of a mutual kind of Cold War, but with an occasional fight

First - no it's not. It's only a very recent fad and, as noted, only limited to a narrow range of recent stories. Second - as also already noted, there is NO history of any particular conflict between vampires and werewolves in the TES universe.

This has come up on this forum before. You're not going to like how this thread will almost certainly work out. Sorry.

The Were VS Vamp arc has been overdone and has become cliche. I do like your idea about turning others. That is something that I can't recall being in an Elder Scrolls game and I think it would add a nice depth to playing a creature of the night.

I'd like to see Vampire and Werewolf factions against the living. It'd be nice to have 2 main lairs, plus have their random desn around the world map, to roam around in once youve joined... Maybe have a questline where they join forces to take over a human city... Yep I'd like that.

I'd like to see Vampire and Werewolf factions against the living not cursed....
Both vampires and werewolves are living, just cursed. One due to Molag Bal's and possibly someone else's meddling as a way to give Arkay the middle finger, and the other Hiricine's meddling to give nature the middle finger, along with the whole hunter/prey thing.

Also, you think too small. The vamps in MW had much more diverse quests than what you suggest (even though they have half the quests a guild would offer), more lairs, along with different clans/bloodlines that fought each other. In Daggerfall, there were clans that held alliances and hatreds towards other clans.

I would like a vampire/werewolf war. More warring faction choices the better.

Interesting but not Elder Scrolls, sorry. Werewolves and Vampires in TES don't particularly care about each other, one way or the other. Only known ongoing conflict (other than with people who aren't diseased with vampirism or lycanthropy- that's what they both are in TES, diseases) would be the feuding between the Berne, Aundae, and Quarra vampire clans in Morrowind- and by the time of Skyrim, that's sort of a non-issue what with Vvardenfell being...well...gone.

No "Underworld," no "Twilight," no "Being Human," no "Vampire vs Lycan."

Not to mention, most known werewolves tend to go insane. Kinda hard to hold a grudge against anything in particular when you're a raving lunatic.

Sure beats being able to join every faction, that gets boring. I want to pick sides, I want many warring factions :sadvaultboy:

I dont care, even if its Cats vs Dogs faction war. I want it.

I think, if they have either of the monsters, that both sides should have their own quests. But i wouldn't mind a loop in said quests were the two sides have a battle (not twilight/underworld style).

I want to pick sides when the exclusion makes sense, not for the sake of picking sides. A werewolf-vampire "war" makes no sense in TES, and I hope to never see its inclusion.

That said, I could see becoming a werewolf locking you out of vampire quests, and vice-versa. Lycanthropy and vampirism both make you immune to diseases, so you can't become both at the same time. I wouldn't be sad if the disease immunity continues even after being cured.

It doesn't fit the lore at all. Vampires vs Werewolves is so plain and generic anyways. Feuds between vampire clans is a way better approach (since that's in the lore.)
