Wes Johnson (Imperial voice) hasn't done voiceovers yet.

Post » Tue Mar 01, 2011 2:33 pm

Wes Johnson who does the voices of the imperials talks a little bit about Skyrim in this vid. Nothing new, apparently he hasn't done VO work for Skyrim yet.

He's also Lucien LaChance. I've actually talked to him before, cool guy, hope they give him at least one part in Skyrim, for old time's sake.

Wow, I'd be shocked if he wasn't in. He was clearly the standout actor in Oblivion.

It will be insane if they don't add him in, who doesn't want to hear Wes Johnson?

This might be a good thing. If all the voice actors haven't done their work yet then that means the writing has more flexibility to work itself out for a while. If I'm not mistaken, Oblivion did their voice acting too soon in the development cycle.

Yeah, me too, he really nailed the gruff Imperial soldier. Best non-celeb actor of the lot, for sure.

I just noticed that the voice of the Prophet in Anvil (KOTN DLC) sounds like it could be him as well.

*crosses fingers*

maybe this means that Skyrim will actually have some unvoiced, onscreen dialogue during speech.

He's a fantastic VA, no doubt, but I'm getting tired of hearing the same voices everywhere, as if it isn't bad enough that 2 NPCs in Oblivion talk the same, but making 3 generations of Imperials sound exactly the same would get kinda annoying...

Cyrodiil's the city's proper name, yes.

My guess is that the VA is one of the last things they do since so many things have to be in place.

All the quests have to be done
All the NPCs and their links to quests
All of the possible scenarios thought through that would impact an NPC response
etc. etc.

It's got to be a huge job keeping track of all the dialogue and make it fit together.

No, it's not. Cyrodiil is the province. That's like saying "Good people of the CITY of Canada" The city would be the Imperial City.

I hope he's in the game. I'm guessing the voice work is the 2nd to last thing that they add into the game. Wes did a really good job with Oblivion including doing the voice for Sheogorath.
