Western Brotherhood

After losing it's war with the NCR (I think?), what is the state of the Western Brotherhood. Are they still involved in hostilities with the NCR or is the fighting over? What territory does the Brotherhood control and what are their numbers like?

Unknown, but likely to be deterorating.

Well the Circle of Steel exists so that suggets that the Western BoS isn't completely wiped out (having the CoS suggests that there are a few other chapters besides the Mojave).

But they'e probably losing badly.

Could you maybe elaborate on the Circle of Steel? I don't think I've heard of them.

They're a group of assassins who are among the ranks of the BoS, they're menioned in Old World Blues, an ex-BoS Paladin named Christine was a member (I said was because in Dead Money when she survives she just lives their) and that's the only way we know they exist.

They were supposed to appear in Black Isle's canceled Fallout 3 (they were the original owners of Fallout's sub-company that made the games).

Spoiler
Christine from Dead Money is a member of the CoS

From what we have seen it seems that they just try and keep the Brotherhood in order, and the brotherhoof members probally have no idea about it. I wouldn't be surprised even if the high elder didn't know about it.

Thanks to both of you for explaining. I hope the COS appears in a future game, it seems like there's a lot of potential there.

Yeah, I kinda got the impression they were a brotherhood "inquisition" too given the way Christine's report is worded "Brotherhood of Steel, the circle"; not at all the splinter group that VB seemed to present

Well it is the under-suit for the T-45d.
