I had a bit of fun today with the Male High Elf textures and applied them to
Bethesda's meshes (rather than the modder made head meshes that I have
chosen). It looks OK, so I think, eventually, I will just release a texture and
mesh replacer for the original Elf head meshes (for those that like the look of
those shapes for heads, but just want the textures to be in High-rez with
natural definition and details).

I actually prefer the original-mesh version - it makes them look more strange and 'otherworldly', as Elves should. Lovely work.

Just look at the head replacer comparison thread while looking at screens of Westly's heads.

Elves are said to be delicate and beautiful as well.

Yeah, that's how i picture elves at least, i think most LOTR fans agrees with me ;) Bethesda's heads are quite terrible in my opinion, all of them :/

I personally hate the "delicate and beautiful" stereotype. It's so, so overplayed, and I wouldn't want to see that anywhere near my game. Bethesda's heads, in my opinion, are old, not terrible. They were awesome when the game was first released, and the design of them is sound, the technology just isn't up to par. Just my take on it.

Besides, the original heads version is an option, not the default, so no harm in letting some of us have our fun, eh? ;)

They were terrible even when the game was new. A head replacer was one of the first things people asked for, same with Oblivion. With FO3 there was improvement..

Personally I like when fantasty sticks to its roots, i'm very old school i guess :)

Its only really the Altmer that are delicate and beautiful, the dunmer and bosmer are savage and rough elves

I love it when fantasy branches out from its roots. Having RPG after RPG taken straight out of the D&D Monster Manual gets really old after a while. But I guess we should just agree to disagree :P

When I try to play with the original heads now (which I do every once in a while), what annoys me isn't anything about the model, but just how blurry the textures are. So I probably will be using this. Especially since the original meshes have a lot of details that I've never seen duplicated in a head replacer, like how the beard on a couple of Dunmer heads have a little curl to them.

Here is a look at the Breton vampire heads; to make the
textures, I merged all of the base textures for the normal
individual heads (this will allow for a resemblance of the vamp
head to the head of choice for the player, rather than a complete
makeover from the original non-vampire face chosen ;) ).

I have to finish up the High Elves (fitting their hairs and making
the Vamp heads). Once that is finished, then maybe I will actually
get 'round to releasing these :D .

Scary, but not too monsterous (I hope); I like my vamps as monsters (as
I usually play character's alligned with Meridia), but with these I hoped to find
a happy medium between creature of the night and the normal faces previously
represented. In the future, I will release a Vamp "beauty" pack, but for now, the
theme shown in the Breton vamps (dead white eyes with translucent skin showing the
veins underneath) will preside over the rest of the vamps as well :) .

I like the vamp heads you have in there now, but if you do release a beauty pack, I may end up mixing and matching for different styles of vamps.

I think this is a great idea. I've always wanted basically higher quality versions of the vanilla faces, not entirely different ones. You're doing fantastic work, and I'm picky as hell. I could nitpick, I suppose, but why? Ha! So anyway, I hope you also do an alternately MORE monstrous version of the vamp heads, as I too prefer my vampires as horrible, bloodsvcking monsters, not seductive sparkly things.

Oh, Indeed I could make more sinister faces (ala Buffy-style bumpy
foreheaded vamps); those are the kind that I have in my game at present, so
an option for those will be included as well :) . Heck, I could make a
version mirroring a more eastern interpretation of vamps (but that
might be going too far with the options :) ).

Wait.... what?!? You mean http://images.greencine.com/images/article/mr-vampire-5.jpg?
Well, I guess you can if you want to, just remember to add 'forcemovejump' to the vampire scripts.
