[WIPz] Westly's Head Replacers (still working on a better ti

C'mon now, isn't this face business a little much these days?

Haha... Just kidding of course.

I started playing Morrowind again, and came in to check the forums for old times sake. Just thought I'd drop in the thread and say that your work is amazing as usual! I'm glad to see you are still around, kicking and making some beautiful art.

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for the great work, Westly. I've been waiting for a purist-friendly face mod for a long time. Installed the two parts you have so far over Vvardenfell Visages and it's working great.... really looking forward to the next few parts to finish the masterpiece. :)

Westly,

Is it possible for you to physique and skin the long hairs included in this mod? Or at least remove them, so NPCs won't have them?

I don't think many people want to see long hair clipping\going through bodies while walking and running.

Either than that, great work, I cant wait for the release!

I haven't noticed any clipping. I think he's been pretty careful about such things :P

True, but past head packs from 2005 did include long hair with clipping. Breton female long hair, for example.
It was present in many head packs, such as some of Wrestly's past, better heads, etc.

But I guess this is 2010 :P

If they clip, then I am sure to make a note of it in the README (else, physiquing hair is not something that I do myself; the clipping, if any, is negligible at best unless one is making a point of standing around watching characters all the time in every single animation just to see if and when a hair might clip :D ). I have grown accepting that the "price of beauty" often means that hair/clothes/armor/bodies will sometimes clip or overlap (and thus, grown used to it and do not let it bother me; even many of Beth's items do this from the original game [not an excuse, there, but more of a license/permission to suspend disbelief that every thing will always work exactly the way one wants ;) ] ). If someone wanted to physique all the long hairs that I may cobble, then that is fine (but this could very well end up being far too many to be done as the possibilities are endless on my modder's cobbling bench :D ).

EDIT: Well hello there, Snape!

Fair enough. No one would expect every hair, since it's unessecary.

Just the long ones which completely clip down the back side :P It's maybe, 3 or 4 hairs.

I've been following this for like 5 months, and I never noticed there were download links. I feel really dumb right about now. Time to turn off Better Heads and give these heads a roll...

It should be Altmer/Bretons and Nords/Orcs released thus far, yes?

Yep, at least that's all he has posted in this thread.

I've never been able to find the head replacer download links, where could they possibly be?

Check the first post: he had a "ninja" release and a "pirate" release: links are in the first post.

ugh, finally got this working. I disabled better heads, but some other plugin somewhere was replacing the default heads. I had to make my own plugin to basically tell the game to look for heads with the default mesh names, so that it could find the VV and Westly heads. Sigh. What an annoyance. :P

But good heavens, it is like *night* and *day*.

Impressive and awesome as always :)

Will you make the heads/hairs of Bloodmoon and Tribunal?
If I remember correctly Bloodmoon adds 1 hair and 5 heads for nord females and males alike, all playable, while Tribunal came with 1 head and hair for Helseth and Barenziah, and these aren't playable.

And because I'm a Dunmer freak I just simply can't wait to see those nasty dark elf faces and hairs :D Will you use some original hair meshes too? Or make some uncombed, spiky styles, like in the original? :liplick:

( Sorry for the lots of questions  )

Is it just me or doesn't the dl-links work?

Westly, is it possible to upload (or re-upload) it somewhere else too? Would love to use them :D

Which, exactly, are you unable to download (out of the four
files offered so far), Trancemaster_1988?

I am loathe to upload these to too many sites ATM (as I want to
keep track of the files so I can best update them before they are in
a final state). That said, if you try again and are still unable to DL the
files, then I will upload the files which you are having issue with to
another site and PM the links to you (so as not to get the thread
confused with too many download links).

This mod is exactly what I've been looking for! I love modders like you and Darknut, who simple take what's already there and update it to 2010 standards instead of changing it to something that doesn't really fit with the spirit of the game. Thanks a lot for working on this!

These are really great, they look exactly like you'd expect them to if Morrowind was released today, I especially like how even the facial expressions match the originals. I tend not to use any NPC head replacers since I find seeing real-life celebrities in Morrowind jarring, but if you used any as models here I certainly can't tell, and these will be in fixture in my games from now on.

As Petiboy asked on the last page, do you have any plans to cover the expansions too? The only problem with the new Nord hair is that it clips through some of the stock Bloodmoon heads (Skjoldr Wolf-Runner in Thirsk for one).

Anyway, keep up the good work!

Westly,

Could I use this in combination with better heads to change the heads you have not yet changed?

As long as you make sure to use the separate ESMs for each race that are included in the BH download - using the standard BH ESM for all races would overwrite Westly's heads, since BH uses different filenames.
