Looks great, my only request is could you make it more brownish (more like the original)? If not, it's easily something I can do in my own game :)

That texture is just a placeholder (its the one that I used on the other fro styles :) ).
I will use the tones from the original textures for the end product, so don't worry ;) .

Now I am really off to bed (had to have a bit of midnight nommage first :) ).

Everything's looking nice, funny to see the Poser world and Morrowind world colliding...again. :P

AFAIK, the only meshes that I have used so far that had been a DAZ/Poser
resource originally are the ones that I used for the fade (and the eventual Ceasar cut for
the Imperials) which were converted by Sonya with Mylochka's blessing. The
rest (as far as the hair goes) are from Adele, IDKRR (with her blessings, of course), Ren,
some of Darksharp's from Better Heads (recobbled with alphas and new textures),
and hairs from Throttlekitty's Oblivion Pack (again, with his blessing).
Else, if I were to post something in error, please do let me know (as I am wary to use
something without clear permissions or understanding of its origins).

I just got home from work, and I am too beat to mod tonight. So, no update here,
as I will probably be vegetating most of the evening infront of the TV (SyFy Friday
and what have you).

Later

I gave the original mesh another go; this time, I did something similar as to what I did with the Wood Elf hair above; I duplicated the mesh and rotated it many times and tilted it at different angles. The result is another Fro type style (more natural than combed) that I think matches up with the original while still having a new quality (I hope).

I'll add a few more layers to it and add a "cap" to the main part so that all the random naked bits of flesh that might be exposed will be covered (like on the sides of the face and so on); its a bit "Sideshow Bob" at the moment, so the extra layers will hopefully add some added thickness and fullness that will avoid the comparison).

'Til Later (off to Dreamland for me, I suppose)

Looks good, this must be the first time I've seen an afro in an elder scrolls game. I find replacers that use anime hair or ones that seems to have been relaxed with modern science really irksome. Are you going to round some of the edges though? It looks fine from the front, but from the side some of larger sections are getting a bit boxy as they stick further out

It will still be a bit jagged (as I was using an original/vanilla mesh as the base) but I
have since duplicated and added more layers (so it should still be a bit "natural" as
opposed to the other fro which looked like it had been picked and combed into a nice
rounded shape). I've still got a bit of experimenting to do with the technique, so I may
come up with another style that is even better suited (but I'll keep the "vanilla" fro in
the mix too ;) ).

Thanks for the offer; I might take you up on it in the future. For now, though,
I think the new fro works as is (just a bit more minor tweaking, I think). Here
is a quick look at it in action in the game.

I also finished up the Reguard vamp heads (so won't be long now ;) )...

Great, the Redguards in particular sadly need an update in VV--though not as badly as the Imperials. ;)

You're quite right that looks grand already. I guess the UVW wasn't so bad after all.

I think not, I've never seen a replacement head for that first redguard you meet that I've liked better than Bethesda's. and Jiub for that matter. Good ol' Jiub, wish I could take him along :hugs:

I think one of the head replacers makes that first redguard guard look like Morgan Freeman, which one was that again? :D

I'm saying they need an update from Vvardenfell Visages; I'm not crazy about their Redguards or Dunmer, but their Imperials--*shudders* ;)

Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!

Have you seen these Mandamus's hairs ? => http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h91/Mandamus_TES/nordhair01.jpg and http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h91/Mandamus_TES/nordhair02.jpg
The transition/demarcation between the hair and the skin is well attenuated.

I'm not sure that's the right topic to mention my work, this is a thread to talk about Westly's replacers. ;)

I have downloaded your Redguard and Bosmer replacer to check the faces and hairs, Westly, to see how some of the WE hairstyles are achieved technically. Your texturing skills are, as always, very impressive :) I have to say I am very much impressed by the spikey hair (B_N_Wood Elf_M_Hair_06), the modeler used so many layers of hair. May I ask who did this mesh? I've never seen it before!

That would be a  on my part, Mandamus. That particular hair was released a while back briefly, but I am unsure of the original author. I used it in my own game, but did not intend to include it in this pack (as permissions were unclear). I am very glad you mentioned it; else I would have left it in the pack and not used the other hair that was meant to be included. The file is now updated with the correct hair that is OK to use :) .

EDIT: Oh, and I don't mind that your new hairs were mentioned here; they are, indeed, fantastic :goodjob: !

Thanks for the quick reply Westly, I have redownloaded the archive to get the proper version. Sorry about the trouble!

Good luck with the other replacers! :goodjob:
