[RELz] Westly Presents Aureals

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 6:34 am

UPDATE

See the PES download in the first post for the Updated mod :) (Thank You, APY)

Changes in the Update:

v1.1-
-Applied LizTail's Fixed BB models to the race to minimize the "Clawed"
look that the original BB had when combined with the base Biped animations

-Added 2 new creatures (Golden Saint Captain & Golden Saint Archer). Both
are in new leveled lists so that they can be found in the Sheogorad region and
in the various Shrines devoted to Sheogorath (encountered from player level
10-17). Also, where there was a single Saint placed originally in game, one
will encounter Archers and Captains there as well (at the player levels
stated previously).

-Added various new Aureal weapons to the new Golden Saint creature drops/loot
Most weapons will be dropped by Captains, save for Bows and arrows which will
be dropped by Archers,

-Added a new set of armour, "Aureal Captain Armour"; various pieces will be
dropped by the new Golden Saint Captain creature

Happy Hunting :D

UPDATE

Thank you Westly for the wonderfull mod and update :) Do you plan to create a more magicka based version of the golden saints, maybe a robe that matches the armors and weapons? :embarrass: It would be realy fantastic.

Is there anyone planning to create a companion veriosn of this mod? Something like Gatanas? I have backstory in my mind, but I never tried to create compannions or scripts. <_<

Spell Casters are certainly a possibility (and easy enough to add at this point, as I can
just place them in my new GS creature levelled list :) ). They are something that I wanted
to do in this version, but after doing the Captain and the Archer, I thought I would take a bit
of a break before I started to see gold in my sleep :) .

No, don't die, as I need any who use this to play through and see how the mod works (as the
existence of my new creatires are only theoretical/speculation at this point; such have not been
encountered in Vvardenfell before ;) ).

Yay! thank you Westly

You are very welcome, Cabron; have fun hunting them down :twirl: !

Ok Westly I have some problems
I installed first the creature replacer and then the new race, overwriting all the fold files from the previous version, and forgot testing it for couple of hours. After cleaning up a daedric ruin I found a Golden Saint scroll and decided to get myself a nice soul :) after summoning the saint I found various weird things; first of all she was wearing some weird brown pants (they showed their normal legs before) after attacking her she used the dremora & daedroth sound effects (?) when fighting. She also pulled a daedric swords, staffs & even a big old iron shield instead of a golden sword (or at least a glass one) and after I defeated her I got no soul either. Just to check I tried several times to soul trap her, but its no use.
Also the male has some weird decolorations near the wrist areas.
Dont mean to btch too much but know what kind of perfectionist you are I thought to mention it

Ok Westly I have some problems
I installed first the creature replacer and then the new race, overwriting all
the fold files from the previous version, and forgot testing it for couple of hours.
After cleaning up a daedric ruin I found a Golden Saint scroll and decided to get myself
a nice soul :) after summoning the saint I found various weird things;

I did not touch summoned Saints in the CS (at all) so I do not know what the matter may be

first of all she was wearing some weird brown pants (they showed their normal legs before)

I put the greaves on her to bridge the gap a bit between the old version (which had leather greaves)
and my new versions. The old "greavesless" version is still included in the mod, though, should anyone
want to swap it out with the one wiith greaves (WAR_GLDST_Fg.nif is its name, so rename it to Golden Saint.nif,
and it should replace the other version; if you rename the other version as well, for sure, as I just swap thier names
so that I still have both should I want to go back and forth myself).

after attacking her she used the dremora & daedroth sound effects (?) when fighting.

Again, I did not touch the summoned Saints at all in the CS, so I do not know what the matter might be
EDIT: out of curiosity, I took a look at the summoned Saint creature in the CS with only Morrowind
activated, and sure enough, it has no sounds attached to it (whatsoever). When I creature has no
sounds applied, it will default to the Alit grunts (or in the case of Bipeds, AFAIK, perhaps the Dremora/Daedroth).
So this is an official matter, not the result of any tinkering on my part (*whew).

She also pulled a daedric swords, staffs & even a big old iron shield instead of a golden sword (or at least a glass one) and

Only Captains will use the Aureal/Golden weapons and Captain Armour; regular Saints
drop the "regular" armour; summoned saints drop nothing (I was not going to make it
that easy for someone to just summon a saint to get the loot; where's the fun in that  ).
The summoned Saints still drop the levelled weapons and armour that they always do (as do
"regular" saints that one encounters in the wild places, nooks, and crannies; to these I only
added armour drops, but did not change their weapon or shield drops).

after I defeated her I got no soul either. Just to check I tried several times to soul trap her, but its no use.

See above (what with not touching the summoned saint creature at all, so no ideas what the issue is there)

Also the male has some weird decolorations near the wrist areas.

If you mean in first person, this is usually due to changing your race but not
saving and exiting the game; so, if going from female to male, the first person
hands will be female and the wrists will be male (so they would not blend together)

Dont mean to btch too much but know what kind of perfectionist you are I thought to mention it

If you have questions, it is always OK to ask (can not guarantee that I have answers,
but I will certainly do my best to offer some form of resolution).

Take Care

Switched the Nifs and they got the pantless look again :) The only mod that affects monsters in my setup is the Undead 3.0 & Unique Ghosts from Archimaestro Antares so maybe that would explain the sound effects & the souless thing. Its a bit convinent though, since summoning and killing for souls is kind of cheating. The decoloration I was pointing out its a weird white triangle in 3rd person view between where the thumb finger joins with the wrist...its not that important really. Im now hunting for Golden saints and cant wait to see how the armor looks on my shadowscale assassin :) Thanks for everyhting Westly

Thats strange. I could have sworn that Golden saints had their own sounds :/ Maybe it was added in PL's Creatures?

Yeah I remember them having voices too but maybe that was from oblivion
BTW Have you noticed how your character speaks when you activate daedric lord statues (in my case a Molag Bal statue) I dont know if its a the way the game is set up or the designers actually planned to have your character?s lips move while they talk "through" you...
Way cool (and off topic)

The Golden Saints that you encounter/battle do have their own sounds (like a Nord female with a metalic ring to the tone of voice). However, the summoned saints (which are a different creature than the ones found in the wild) do not have a voice track assigned. Assigning them a voice is easy enough, though. All one has to do is open up the CS, find the golden saint_summon creature, open their ID menu and click on the Sound Gen Creature drop down; find the "golden saint" sound and then save (the summoned creatures would then use the Golden Saint sound files) :) .

Sounds like a mod conflict to me, as up until recently I had this problem (Before I installed Westly's mod). I can safely say that the summoned Golden Saints have the correct voice/sounds with just Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon running. I eventually found the culprit, it seems the mod New Blood by Razorfett was the cause  as this alters the Golden Saints and seemingly had the unintended effect of removing their sounds.

So, today I was in Bal Ur, and I met a saint and an Archer (Both are very beautiful btw :D) but they are still rooted in place, which makes fighting them really awkward.
Anything I can do to resolve this?

If you use Liztail's Morrowind Animation Kit, don't forget to redo Fix Animation Errors. I had the same problem ^_^

Is this the "Replacer Only" version to which you are referring?
I updated the model in the standalone replacer, but I might have forgotten
to add the greaves texture (which can be found in the larger race mod).

I will double check and get back to you (but DL'ing the main mod would
fix the issue for now; just find the texture in the main mod and intall it into
your game's texture folder [no need to install the full mod unless you want to ;) ).

I have to run, but I will be sire to fix this error on my part as soon as I get back :twirl: .

Yes it is the "Replacer Only" version.

I will download the main mod to fix it. Thanks.

Hey, I'm sorry to necro-bump, but whatever became of the Mazken? I really would love to see them made in the same style as your Aureals.
