[RELz] Westly Presents Aureals

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 1:50 pm

Wait... I just realized. I'm using the pluginless replacer, which means that I won't get any of the new weapons... :ahhh:

Awesome mod Westly
Is it possible, that there will be an Aureal companion mod, something like Gatanas?

Funny, since I usually love the new races more then the new weapons but I fell in love with that staff, gorgeous!

Excellent work, as always!

That staff is magnificent! The rest of the weapons also look great - but right now I'm in the mood for staves ;)

(so far)

Does this mean, there are going to be more? :deal:

Mmm Westly you mentioned that the male Aureals would drop these new weapons, but what if I dont want the males, would it be possible to have the females only and have them drop those weapons?

Hi,

I downloaded this plug in on 05/07, the one named Westly_Present_Aureals.7z from planetelderscroll.

Very good looking race, however when I tried to wear the armor pieces I got from dead golden saints I got error message & game crashed. I checked and found there be no meshes for the armor parts in data files/meshes/GS2/a sub-folder.

I want to know if I've missed something here ?

Thank you.

If you post what the error message says, then I can better help you (else I would only be
guessing as to what the matter might be). I assure you that the armour parts are in the archive,
as I just downloaded the mod again to be certain (and everything was there). So, most likely, this
is an installation error (so be sure to check and make sure that you do not have a duplicate "Data Files"
inside of you Data Files folder; as such could happen if one does not follow the practise of manual installation :) ).

Take Care

UPDATE with weapons and additional creatures to come later today (so keep-a-look-out) :twirl: !

Thank you. I downloaded again yesterday. It's OK. Turned out my previously downloading the zip from planetelderscroll somehow corrupted.

You created real pretty race there. Like it so much.

I would/could, but I will/would wait for PL's blessings first (as I did have a few ideas
for my own game concerning their possible appearance; unique enough from the Saints
shown here, yet still readily apparent that they are all "related" :bolt: ). I wouldn't dream
of doing so without his consent in any form (even if I released such a replacer as a separate
mod, I would not feel comfortable unless PL approved :) ).

EDIT: Besides, I still have quite a few other creatures to hand off to Piratelord (must stay focused, must stay focused :P ).

Sure. They are simple retextures of the normal golden saint, and I'm no real expert at it, but I'd like a model replacer that still keeps the full metal look, and the "dark saints" to still be dark. Weapons and Shield could be replaced, they again are retextures of existing models and could look more elegent and weird aka sheograth. Having a chance of dropable armor loot in the creature would be a nice extra for collectors.
I would definately replace all my saints with new models, as long as the golden saint still looks like the MW concept and not the OB style - nothing wrong with them, just a case of maintaining style.

If I ever pick up my daedric realms mod (so much going on atm no time for MW) I'll have to include your work for a bit of consistancy (and the colour scheme will clash and also match nicely with my Ma'Dremora)

Edit:
Just seen those weapons. They are lovely!

As long as we're waiting for the next update, I'm kind of curious: Westly, do you have plans to do BB versions of any other Morrowind creatures? The 6th House (Dagoth Ur in particular) , Dremoras, Hircine (a Hircine makeover based on his statue in Oblivion would make you my favorite person ever :) ) and Corprus Stalkers all come to mind

If not, obviously that's fine too.

Check out the Psychodog Studios Liztail made a fix for the vanilla races that removed the clawlike look to the hands...I cant gve you the link here because that site is the devil and bla bla bla, I was thinking maybe Westly could add it to his mod...
Weird thing is that I dont think many know about the fix arround here, maybe Liztail never made a release here

I always forget to add that in for those that want it (as it is just easier for me, though stream
of process, to leave the hands as they are; force of habit, really). When I update the mod this
weekend, I will be sure to add that feature in ;) .

As for what to expect in the update (which was delayed due to a holiday), there will be weapons
and a new set of armour to obtain (not inspired by anything other than my imagination, though
it will still fit in with the overall style of this mod).

As I understood, it is impossible to get auriel's armour and weapon without installing a race plug-in. But it would be nice to add armour and weapon to the replace-only mod. I'm looking forward to get a gold dagger!

The replacer only version is pluginless (and there were no weapons and armour to replace
pluginlessly [wc], so to get the armour one would have to have a .esp,
regardless (so the race is included in the plugin as well; this saves confusion as to "install this plugin if..."
or "install this version if...."). Having only one version makes the whole process far more simple  .
Besides, having the race in the plugin does not change anything in game (all the changes are made to the
Saint creatures, the race is just there for those that want to have the option to play as an Aureal; it is not like
having the race included in the plugin forces one to use said race "double  " . I guess I am
just curious as to the nature of your dilemma/why you would not want the race (when it is more or less
a benign addition to the overall mod) :) .

You rock Westly!
Im really enjoying my Aureal lady, her stats are rather good (an not unbalanced) and I love the sheen of her skin, in some light conditions it looks almost metalic, is that a feature you planned while doing the skin or is it an adjusted Altmer with a different color tone?
Maybe ryhmer?s problem is the same as mine; I like the Aureal male, but maybe I dont want to have male golden saints running arround to get their magnificent weapons.
BTW this is kind of off topic, but would it be ok if I tweeked the dumer skins for the Droz Denizens? I made a few modifcations to it and they look good ingame, looks good enough fer me but maybe you want to take a look at it too

Hey, I love this mod, but I'm having a problem:
When I get to Staada, I'm bombared by error messages saying something like "unable to find B_01 tail" or something like that. Now, I noiticed that staada is stuck in place. SHe can no longer move, and keeps running in spot. Her legs aren't even animated.
WHats up?

Are you using LizTail's Animation Kit?

Liztail's AK adds tail bones to the standard Morrowind character/biped skeleton (so that upright
beasts can make use of tail animations). However, it causes this glitch when used with custom
creatures that do not have the tail bones applied in their skeletons (which would not be exclusive
to my mod, but to all the possible biped creatures that do not have tails inculded in their skeletons,
AFAIK). Personally, I do not know of a quick fix for this (save for adding the BipTail to the GS creatures
as well, but then the reverse might be true [causing problems for those that do not use the AK]) . I am
hurrying to finish my update ATM, so this will have to bear greater scrutiny on my part at a later time.

So I am still plugging away toward the update (though my modding time
was cut in time due to various unforseen RL variables
[ *shakes fists at RL variables "Where's Emperor Palpatine when ya need 'em?" ]).
Anyway, here is a look at the Aureal Captain's Armour (which will be the
creature version as well that will drop the weapons, but only when the player reaches "X" level):

In answer to CABRON's protest, there will be no male versions (just to make
it easier on myself by having one .esp that needs to be updated/no options).
However, the male creature models will still be included (should one be handy with
the CS and want to swap them out or add some additional baddies to their own games).

*Takes a "sadness break" to mourn the uninclusion[wc] of the Male Aureals :(

Well, guess I will keep chugging along 'til I can reach a stopping point
(but once I get rolling, the momentum is hard to break).
