Post » Tue May 17, 2011 1:01 pm

***************************************************************** The Elder Scrolls III MORROWIND: Westly Presents Aureals(Oblivion Inspired Goldem Saints) *****************************************************************Index:1. Installation2. Playing the Plugin3. Save Games4. Changing the Face of an Existing Character5. Credits & Usage*****************************************************************	INSTALLING THE PLUGIN*****************************************************************Manual Installation:This mod is packaged/archived with 7zip. Should one desire to usethis mod, an archive programme such as 7zip, Winrar, Winace, or Zip Genious should be used to extract/open the information/files herein.(Although, if you are reading this, then you already know how to do extract from archived files, so good for you ).Once extracted/opened, just drag and drop the Data Files Folder onto the Morrowindfolder in your C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks directory and they will go where they are meant to go (except the readme and ExtrasFolder). All the files are placed inside folders as marked (become familiarwith manual installations, your game will thank you for it). You will then be prompted to overwrite. Click yes/ok and the files should now beproperly installed.Files included in this archive:Data Files-Textures Folder-Meshes Folder-Icons Folder-Westly Presents_Aureals.espExtras FolderWestly Presents Aureals README (which you are readingright now)The Extras Folder: Inside the Extras folder there are two subfolders containing the meshfiles for Underwear and nvde options (the mod installs the Underwear meshesas the default, but are included in the extras folder as back up; justin case). To install these, simply open the appropriate subfolder in the archive (nvde or underwear) 'til you see the "Meshes" folder (if the folderis named "GS2", then you have gone too far ). Now select the "Meshes"folder and press Ctrl+C to copy the file. Then open your Morrowind directoryto C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Data Files. Now press Ctrl+V to pastethe previously copied "Meshes" folder into the Data Files folder (you will be prompted to overwrite, so click yes and the race will now use the bodystyle of your choice ).*****************************************************************	PLAYING THE PLUGIN*****************************************************************From the Morrowind Launcher, select Data Files and check the box next to the Westly Presents_Aureals.esp fileThis plugin adds:A new playable race, Aureals (inspired by the Golden Saints that were featured in TESIV ala the Shivering Isles expansion)8 male Golden Saint Head10 female Golden Saint HeadMale and Female Vampire headsA variety of hairs for both sixesRace Description:The Golden Saints are the daedric spawn of Sheogorath and are feared for their abilities in combat. By the hand of Sheogorath they are blessed with strong resistances to weapons, the elements, and magika.Stats (Male and Female)STR-45/50INT-35/30WIL-40AGI-40SPD-30/40END-50/40PER-30LUC-40Skill Bonus-Longblade-10Heavy Armour-5Medium Armour-10Athletics-5Block-5Blunt Weapon-5Destruction-5Abilities-Sheogorath's Hand:Resist Normal Weapons- 5%Resist Frost, Fire, Shock- 45%Fortify Maximum Magika- 2ptsFortify Attack- 2ptsIn addition to the race, there is a mesh replacer for the "standard" Golden Saint. This is located in the "r" subfolder in the "Meshes" folder (and does not make use of this plugin to actually replace the Golden Saint creature model; AKAa "Pluginless" creature replacer). As far as what the plugin does by way of the "Creature Saints"-Adds a new Leveled list to the Golden Saint creatures so that they drop parts of the new armours added by this mod (so no shopping, here; gotta hunt down those Saints if you want the armour)-Adds a specific/unique creature model for the Golden Saint "Staada"; Staada will now also drop specialised Aureal gear (a sword, shield, and "Wig/Crowns" in 4 colours).NOTE: A male Saint creature mesh is also included with this mod, but is not used in-game at this time (will be added to an update a bit later on once I have cobbled the rest of the "Aureal Weapons", which will be exclusive item drops for male Saints alone :) .Enjoy!***************************************************************** Save Games*****************************************************************This plugin will not invalidate your old saved games. If you save your game while this plugin is loaded, you may encounter error messages when you reload the saved game without the plugin. But you will beable to continue on with the original game.***************************************************************** Changing the Face of an Existing Character*****************************************************************To change the face/race of your existing character without starting a new game, open the console and type "enableracemenu". Choose your new face and hair. Changing your race will cause temporary problems that should resolve themselves when you reload. Always save your game first in case of unpredictable errors and save afterwards in a new file.***************************************************************** Notes/Issues/Bugs*****************************************************************-Much of the armour and many of the hairs make use of alpha channelsto define their shape (by use of tranparency). In some instances, when another mesh that makes use of transparencies (say a waterfall mesh)overlaps the meshes that use alphas in this mod, there might be a chance that the hair/armour might temporarily dissappear ( this also applieswhen casting spells such as Chameleon or Invisibility). This is a known issue, and is not specific to this mod (but in all mods that make use ofalpha channeled meshes [also, in any alpha channeled "stock" mesh too]).-Some of the longer hairstyles will clip with the body during certain animations. Without skinning/physiquing/weight-paintingthis is unaviodable, but worth the minor clip here and there for the character of your choice :D .-Not all of the hair meshes will fit exactly with every head mesh. However, the variety is large, so there will certainly be a style included that will work with most of the head meshes (Just Sayin')-To achieve the "shine" effect of the armour, specific detail maps were used (where the lighter parts of the detail map "glow" and the darker parts of the detail map "recede"). This allows the armour to gleam (even slightly in the dark)***************************************************************** Credits & Usage*****************************************************************Original face models by Rhedd, Robert, and Banic (in some instances, altered further by Westly).Original Hair meshes by Ren and IDKRRShort/Fade Hair mesh by Mylochka (converted by Sonya)BB v2.2 mesh by Psychodog StudiosArmor Meshes by Nioliv Armor Boot Mesh by SilariaCrown/Headband Mesh by BanicHelm Mesh by Psymoniser (altered by Westly, added Golden Saint Wings and Face plate)All Textures by WestlyA HUGE thank you to Psymoniser (who adapted these to the GS biped before I finally learned how to do it myself; without his help, it would have never clicked in my head as to the "how" of it all).Thank you NifTools for NifSkopeThank you to the community for the continuing support.Thank you to AlienSlof for initally pointing me down the right paths when I first began making mods.Questions comment? Exorince took the word I was going to use. Ummm, how about wow?!?
So are the extra heads just so you can change them up via the CS in game, or were you considering a playable version?

Ummm... ;)

Consult the information above (there you will find the answer to your question) :twirl:

EDIT: in short, this is a Playable Race and Creature replacer (the heads are for the race)

OOOPS!
You are so right (my bad and sincere apologies, completely, as I copied the wrong REPLACER ONLY README :embarrass: ; Although it does say race in the title ;) )

*scampers off to put the correct README in the top post

EDIT: FIXED :twirl: !

Can I tweak this up a bit? There are a few things that I think could be better, for example, the helmets are too big and look silly, and the colours, well they look like Morrowind Golden Saints, I want them to look like the OB ones.

Yes, "big, silly helmets" is the first thing I think of when I see this, not "Westly is a modding god and I shall create a cult dedicated solely to the worship of him." As for Morrowind Golden Saints, well, this is the Morrowind Mods forums and the mod is for Morrowind, not Oblivion. I'm sure there are playable Oblivion Golden Saints in the Oblivion forums if that's what you want.

Instead of "tweaking" an already existing and absolutely wonderful mod, why don't you make your own playable race to suit your vision?

Because most of the work is already done, all that I want to do is recolor the stuff and resize the helmets.

Good job sir. If I may ask, since I don't have Morrowind installed currently so can't check, .. are those real reflections on the physiqued parts of the mesh? I know I've been gone a while but back then it wasn't possible to ref-map physiqued meshes. Is this an MGE type thing?

What you do on your own computer for your personal gaming is fine, but the
helmet size is completely intentional (though I do not think that they are that big at all).
If the helms were made smaller, most head meshes would clip through the top or sides (as
I have made them smaller myself in order to test it out the sizing limitations). My suggestion
is not to rush to improve what is not even readily available yet ;) .

Take Care

@VA- the shine is achieved through the use of Detail Maps (while not true reflection,
it'll do in a pinch; a simple illusion, that's all ;) ).

OMG! These are amazing. I've been looking forward to these, since you posted screenies on enmeharra's site. The shivering Isles expansion and Mankar Camoran are the only things I liked in TES IV.

Can't wait for them to be approved. Great work! :goodjob:

Edit: Are you also going to make a "Mazken" aka Dark Seducer, anytime in the future.
