[WIP] WH40k Tyranid Impaler Cannon

Heres an overall of the mods contents. Took me all day just to make the symbiote scripts, and the model of the Pyrovore Larva (a.k.a. Ammo Factory).

Well i think i can call this one finished, as i cant find any other thing to do with it right now. im still open to suggestions thou.

Sorry I just said its thingling my imagination (or something similar), for now i think it wil be a Classic Plasma Grenade (I think i promised it to some1 some half a yaer ago), and maybe (really really maybe) a classic power fist. After that i guess i can make a Tau Heavy Railgun, Tyranid weapons take soooo much work i need some serious break from those :)

I was a big fan of warhammer 40k long time ago, now I forgot almost everything but I remember I loved Tau empire.... Like Echonite.
With my first Fallout 3 install I'll play the Tau Compilation and maybe this new Impaler (looks amazing, and the idea of feeding a weapon to make it work looks fun, keep up the good work :))
Now, searching on the nexus I found some resource packs:

And maybe something to expand the Tau Compilation (I know the compilation is not yours, but you made the resources for it, so it's like it would be), such as:
-Tau Burst Cannon, maybe combined with a Stealth Suit
-Tau heavy Railgun (Seconded :)), maybe this could be combined with a drone, or could be placeable on the ground to allow better stability and less sway
-Tau Fusion Blaster (short range, High power)
-Tau Plasma Rifle (It was one of my favourite weapons, it had the advantage of not overheating, like the Imperial version did)
-Tau Saturation Grenade Launcher (One of the Shas'O weapons)
-Kroot Rifle
-Tau Sniper Drones (you missed those toys in your drone companions mod :P)

I hope I gave you some inspiration with these :P (I am SURE the names in English are not the same as I wrote, I just translated from Italian to English with my basic knowledge... I'll do a researchon Games Workshop and I'll see If I can find the real names).

Actually i meant suggestions with the Impaler Cannon, As for the sniper drones i made them just switched the barrels to actual rail rifle ones, because the oridinal looked like pulse rifles, and as far as i knew sniper drones have rail rifles.

Oh... Sorry for that, I forgot that you included sniper drones in the mod :unsure:
As for the Impaler I don't know Tyranids enough to give suggestions, sorry for misunderstanding

That's the only critique i would give the impaler. I'm not totally happy with the texture.

i can texture alright these days... what needs texturing?

Hey im not a pro at texturing, and never claimed to be 1 :)
I think, given my limited skills, this 1 turned out to be quite nice. (given ive never modelled anything living be4)

My only problem is that i couldnt make speculars have a red tint, ive set it in the nif but i guess engine disregards it.

btw if u make a retexture im more than happy to upload if u'd like

no matter what you do, the spec color is quite weak. i'm currently doing tests with it. it appears to have an effect under certain conditions. but if you use a specular map. atm i am guessing that overides the spec color slider completely. an the mesh gets its entire specular value from the map. you could just set it to black i expect
