wha...how....*gasps* BRAVO

I'm only 20-min or so into the campaign, and the story is very promising so far..
The only problem is, I'm missing parts of it because the game looks so insanely amazing, I am in a corner somewhere admiring a trash can while ****'s hitting the fan!

I played the original Crysis and Crysis: Warhead, and in my opinion Crysis 2 is in a league of it's own, and I'm playing on Extreme with an 8800GT.. Don't know how but I'm doing it and looks absolutely amazing. (Yes, I did play Warhead on the best settings)

Absolutely blown away by two things; the graphics.. and the fact that people will complain whatever game you'll release no matter if it's the best or worst game ever released.

The only thing I'm missing is some sort of tech demo where you can just walk around in the city to admire the beauty without any enemies in some sort of special mode.

Thank you CryTek, you're awesome.

Link. do note that some of the collectibles are not saving. (dog tags, souvenirs and car keys)

Keep track of which are not saving for a bug report later. I've enjoyed the campaign, but there are some bugs (like the one I mentioned).

About the graphics, imho, the Cryengine 3 is capable of much more than what Crysis 2 is demonstrating on "extreme" setting. So it still doesn't look as good as some of the early demos we saw last fall. Certainly not as crisp; its all.. i dunno. blurry. Like someone lightly ran a smudge pencil all over it. .. that and the motion blur. ;P

But over all it was a good solo mission.

It's a truly amazing game. Very epic, and very engaging. The new textures and lightings are SOOOO nice :) Defferred lighting ftw haha.

Disable motion blur and fine-tune HDR/Bloom, pretty much did it for me, the game looks beatiful.

That's unfair considering the fps you would get on Warhead. Crysis looks better than Crysis Warhead anyway.

I don't know how I'm doing it, I'm playing on the best settings possible with a quad core 4gb ram 8800GT with around 15-20 FPS.

I played Crysis on the best settings possible too, I just used warhead as a reference. I did not use a 8800GT setup back then tough, the game was way too demanding.

Your doing it cause your running a console game on a PC.

That and your not using gorgeous DX10.
I find it hard to believe Crysis 2 looks this good on consoles, I really really do.

I don't know what is activated, or how to activate it.. I set it to extreme and that's it.
Perhaps that is why my 8800GT can handle everything so well. It's set to DX9 by default?

EDIT: There's a difference between "you're" and "your". You do know that, right? After all, it's your language, not mine :)

Lol this is a joke, this game was a disappointment. The graphics are awful, at least compared to crysis 1. It looks exactly like the console versions.

Thanks for posting this thread link, it's nice to know there are actually other people out there who appreciate this game. :D I love it.

Y'know at the start before you get ammo for your pistol? I speant half an hour swimming around the water and looking at the sun through trees. Love at first sight my man.

That's what me and my mate were doing on the demo lol, we'd jump on an empty server with the Pier 17 map, until someone came online and shot us while swimming around lol. I thought it was a nice touch when you could swim backwards and see your hands and feet in front of you :)

I like how you do the front crawl when your on the surface of the water, that's new. Hoever I miss not being able to be in speed mode under water aim directly at the surface and speed up, upon reaching the surface you leap about 15 feet above the water. That was always fun and made for real nice skill shots. If you could time it your in the air above water for about 4 seconds and you shoot and kill someone you were officially a beast. Haha ;) Then doing the same to relaod your gun for the next kill xD

:D :D

Most people would say that fps is totally unplayable. But if it works for you more power to you.I certainly don't think you should compare games at 15-20fps though (even if they both run at the same speed I would have reservations).
