what about dlc's after the game?

Post » Sun Sep 26, 2010 11:13 pm

So if u save the game and continue to finish all other quests, then when ur all done and do the final mission. the game ends, but what happens
when they make new add-on dlc's (like they already have)? do u have to go back in the game to before the last quest and complete the new
dlc then complete the endgame again? is it just me or does this seem rather stupid?

The DLC happens before the last mission. The last mission is the end of the Couriers story.

Also; it's not just you, a lot of people are moaning and groaning because FNV doesn't have a Broken Steel type add-on that adds After-Endgame-Content and don't realize it's impossible to converge all endings and the changes in the Mojave Wasteland depending on what faction you supported asnd qhat quests you did.

Yah, everyone would want a Broken Steel DLC but then everyone would be disappointed because they didn't change anything depending on factions or there are very few changes. It would basically be Fallout 4 if they tried to actually include all the content it would change.

my main point is, they already came out with 2 add on dlc, so in order to play them, do u have to go and "undo" the final quest to play them?
if so, how many times do u have to undo the last quest because they created a new dlc?

Create a seperate save before you do the last mission. Fixes your problems. Every DLC up to the last, Lonesome Road, will take place before the last mission. There will be no post-game DLC for FNV.

@truehitman2010- These were hilarious at first, now they're just getting old.

There really needs to be a sticky thread, with an all caps title that says: DLC WILL NOT LET YOU CONTINUE AFTER THE END OF THE GAME. Or something like that, these threads never seem to end. Then again even a sticky would go unnoticed and people would still post these threads, because for some reason they can't read first.

Thats the only reason these threads continue to exist. It's amazing how many people are too impatient, or just plain ignorant, to read a couple sentences.

The constant reappearance of these threads has me thinking George Carlin was right when he said "Now think about how stupid the average person is, then realize that half of them are dumber than that", because it's impossible to not see the GIANT pop-up that appears at the point of no return and warns you to think about whether or not you want to finish.

While I admit it would be interesting to see the effects of my actions during a given character's career, I would rather not see it and get a quality ending than get something like Broken Steel where all that work is rendered moot since nothing actually happened.

I agree whole heartidly. I would love for there to be a post-endgame DLC, but not by sacrificing the story's integrity, or the story itself for that matter.

Not me if they said this is what happened and all my other characters died I could care less. I d much rather know who really won nv.

There can only be 1 ending to a story not 4 or 37, but 1.

But it kind of shows what the people really want. Mark my words Fo4 will have a game extender dlc, and a real ending.

Also, if you're playing on a PC, there's a mod that allows you to play on after the final slideshow.

I think the next fallout game should have written on the box art or on the first page of the game on say, Steam: "Fallout THE GAME ENDS AFTER THE MAIN QUEST 4.

Then, when you actually hit the button to add it to your cart and purchase it you get another, THE GAME ENDS AFTER THE MAIN QUEST ARE YOU SURE YOU WISH TO CONTINUE?

Then it should post it at the opening credits. Then after the first battle. Then again about halfway through the game. Then at the very end just before the main quest. In fact it should pop up four or more times at the beginning of the end of the main quest. Then, after all is said and done. The moment you post a thread about not knowing or asking a question about why it had to end the game will automatically format your hard drives and strangle you.

But Bethesda is doing fo4, and they will continue the game. We may even know what really happened like in fo3.

The lead dev from fo3 said that they made Broken Steel because that is what Bethesda fans wanted. He also said not having continued play is a mistake they will not make again.

So your take on what should be on the fo4 box will more than likely be wrong.

LOL!! Wow.

I hope Beth hands it off to Obsidian then. Sure, NV isn't the most open ended game I've played but its far richer than 3 was. IMO

I think that Broken Steel was always the intended ending and it was cut short in a cynical ploy (that favoured xBox players who got it first).

I don't understand why you would feel the need to redo the final quest after doing another DLC, nothing has changed, the only reason to play the last mission with the same character would be to go through the cool battle again. Just don't make a save during the last mission...

I don't understand what the difference is between having a save before the final mission and reloading that for infinite gameplay after seeing the ending or actually being able to continue after the credits roll. They aren't able to incorporate the endings into a DLC so it you wouldn't see the changes anyway, it's exactly the same.
