What about Dwarves!?!

Post » Sat Jul 30, 2011 5:05 am

It looks like another elder scrolls will go without dwarves :( Does anyone know why they are not in the game, or if they will ever be...

They have vanished. They also aren't Tolkein-esque dwarves (they're really known as Dwemer).

Just to let you know, there's already a topic about the dwemer http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1215088-dwemer-ruins-speculation/.

Also, the dwemer (not dwarves) are LONG dead. But their ruins and constructs still remain.

Gone...I believe after Lorkhan's heart was destroyed long ago, the Dwemer lost their power of immortality, thus they rapidly aged and turned to dust, disappearing. Something like that...

Well, then put up with being chased away with pitchforks. If you wanna discuss something, actually read up on it, instead of acting like a complete idiot.

We still don't know for sure if all of the dwarves are extinct...Yagrum Bagarn is supposedly the last of the dwemer, he was in the outer realm when they disappeared...so he escaped the tragedy...who's to say other's weren't off in other realms as well? I'm sure some survived....

The day Bethesda brings back the Dwemer is the day I will quit TES. Also, discussing why the Dwemer aren't in Skyrim is like posting troll science pics on /sci/

But I don't want to put down my pitchfork
The Dwarves are long gone, and not Tolkein-esque at all. They weren't short, not stout, not strong, and elves.

*IF* (and I mean IF) the Dwemer ever do come back, it had best be done in a game dedicated to the purpose of telling that story. No cheesy DLC, no half-baked story tacked on somewhere, do it right and proper.

Also, I like troll science pics, they're funny :)

Hard to come back, when they're dead/gone/higher plane of existence.

... and what's wrong with calling them dwarves, they were around the size of a Bosmer anyway...

Word of God has said the dwemer became their machine god, The Numidium, save for 1. That is all, and this information is older than this forum (the beans were spilled during the previous forum). Azura didn't do it, as she didn't care for them. The only time we'll see the dwemer again, is if the Numidium comes back and starts stepping on things, for the dwemer are the Numidium. Even the clan that left Morrowind to Hammerfell.

Also, the dwemer were roughly as tall as an imperial. Just play Morrowind and stand next to one of the ghosts.

What's wrong with calling them "dwarves" is the fact that calling them that leads to a seemingly endless stream of people who don't understand why Gimli isn't in the game.

They ARE dwarves, from a giant's point of view, how they got the name.

just my opinion, but I find it a little rude if you demand a newbie read the lore, without http://www.imperial-library.info/content/final-report-trebonius

Putting in a corprus-ridden Dwemer who is most likely dead by now is obviously not in anyway close to bringing back the Dwemer hence you are a bad troll.

No, you're just upset because of your poorly thought out comment...is Yagrum Bagarn not a dwemer? Was he not put in Morrowind? And how would he most likely be dead if he survived by contracting Corpus, which stops you from ageing? There's nothing to indicate that he's died, since we dont know who did/did not survive the destruction brought on by the moon crashing. Now go outside and burn off some steam.

Plz, let's not start a lore argument because it will be several million pages long and i actually want to do something other than that for the day. The Dwemer believed that they were naturally immortal but had that "birthright" taken away and that it was their destiny to retake it, using Lorkhan's heart. I can't remember off the top of my head but i believed after the war between the Chimer and the Dwemer, the six councils along with Dagoth Ur(Although named differently before this name, can't remember) used the tools of Lorkhan or something similar to stop the Dwemer from achieving immortality. Just read the Wiki linked before, it's most certainly more accurate

And from our point of view, they are also short, given that they are three-inch-tall triangular piles of dust.

They were all killed to make so many pieces of the armor. it's common knowledge that elven weapons are made of elves and dwarven weapons are made of dwarves.
