What AddOns will YOU be using?

Post » Sun Mar 30, 2014 10:11 pm

Me? I'm really diggin' these two DAoC themed addons..

http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info42-Xpbarwithbubbles.html (XP bar displayed in "bubbles" ala DAoC)

and

www.esoui.com/downloads/info62-Killlog.html (kills announced in log as well as keep captures, ect.)

What about you guys? I want to collaborate and figure out some great last minute addons to make launch all that much better :)

Any AO that allows me to remove the compass and crosshair.

Wykyds Framework and Full Immersion is about all I need.

Oh.......I was avoiding add-ons but that one removes even more stuff so I will check it out.

The only add-ons I am interested in are for managing crafting and storage. I wish they had gone with a grid system instead of that list system.

Indeed. I talked to him about the possible features for it and he seems to be making it as customizable as possible for the player. Not unlike one of my favored must have mods for TES and FO... iHUD form the talented Gopher.

coffee 1.0 - MANDITORY: unit will not function properly without it.

nicotine 3.a - i get bad crashes and buggy behaviour when i try to uninstall this, so i just leave it running.

peripheral enhancer v9b - patched to include: full seasons of Firefly Heroes GoT Dexter AHS Breaking Bad etc

and a few trade secrets to keep everything calm

That Framework AO allows for 48 on screen macros that can be used for one button emotes for those like me that lack any sufficient typing skills to be of any real use on the fly within a chat window.

That actually sounds useful. You could set up your numpad keys 0-9 for commands that could be used in PVP like "I need help" or "Enemy spotted" or Watch out behind your" etc. Assuming they have those emotes. I have only played a handful of MMOs so I never learned emotes beyond the ubiquitous dance, sleep, clap ones.

Compass, okay. Crosshair? Yall dont like to see what youre aiming at or something?

Just wanted to say thank you for making this post. I had actually forgotten to set up folders and junk for addons and it is actually giving me something to do. So again thanks.

As to which i will be using, i am going to wait a bit before i install any, want to see how the game flows and give any mod makers time to make adjustments to their offerings once there is a live game to work with.

Ha... on the contrary, my friend. The crosshair is an obstruction for what is essentially hand-eye coordination. You shoot a bow with the same accuracy mechanic as throwing a ball... or a rock.

It's a [censored] when you first play without it but you actually learn to adjust fairly quickly without it within an hour or so of playtime. I remove the cross hair (or make it a super tiny dot) when I play STALKER and that game doesn't have aim assist. Of course I also aim down the site of the weapon so that makes a difference. In ESO it wouldn't matter as much because there is soft targeting and there is some auto aim involved.

As long as they are working within the framework of what the ZOS devs consider acceptable, nothing wrong with them imo.

And this is from one coming from a game where players would literally report you if they even thought you were thinking about trying a 3rd party program.

None. I'll play the game vanilla then if I feel something is lacking, I'll go looking for a add on. I've used them in most MMOs that's supported them but I'm not sure what I'll need them for yet as I'm just a crafter, gatherer. Would be cool if there's a gatherer type addon?

Actually, Sir Jeffrey, my old friend... the very AO I speak of is almost a necessity for me to play the game the game. Not by adding anything, but by removing most of it.

I just wish there was a toggle for the enemy tells. I can see a power attack is coming by the delay of the incoming strike animation. I don't need a red cone to be broadcast on the ground nor do I need to see shiny sparkles emulating form their head. All of that is unnecessary distraction and training tools, as far as I'm concerned.

I look at it like... "Drop the pads and come at me like a man."

I have never been able to play TES games without it.

Do you play first person? Because that might be it.

I dont. I *hate* first person in TES games.

I dont play first person either. And aiming down the barrel only works for me with actual firearms. And if the guns got rear and front sights. Whichever moron designed my old shotgun with no rear sight....

No, I must come clean about the details we are discussing here. I primarily play in 3rd. I will on occasion play in first for using a bow and even some ranged spells. i switch to first when looking at items up close.

I need the crosshair to pop up when I hover over an item. I want to pick up a single apple and not the entire basket. I do still use the setting for it to fade in and out when drawing a ranged weapon or charging a spell. Otherwise, It is a distraction for me to be there 24/7.
