What to do after completing most quests

Post » Thu Aug 05, 2010 2:28 pm

I know most of you guys just start new characters, but is there anyone who continues as their main character?

I've already played through as another character, but don't see the fun in just leveling up again once I've already mastered 1 character.

Personally I stopped right before choosing who to side with at the end and have fun doing the different endings, collect more loot for my house, explore more stuff, have fights with groups of spawned enemies a LOT and complete odd and end quests I've missed.

What do you guys do other than just start all over?

Try to collect enough ECPs to run a Gatling Laser with Max Charge as a primary weapon. It's not going so well, because for some reason this playthrough, ECPs are bloody rare, so I'm having to convert other ammo.

There was also the game where I threw pre-war hats on dead geckos.

Bah, same here. Just waiting to buy the DLCs, so frustrating!

In the meantime, Choosing a nice new home and then decorating it, picking fights with Deathclaws, and basically scavenging looting [censored] and pillaging!
Also, it's quite a task to try and collect all the skill books, especially if some of them are in locations where you're villified.

Pose & arrange all the teddy bears and dino toys into a giant battlefield scenario that covers all of Freeside? Don't forget to take screenshots. ;)

That battle may be a little biased as I like the Dino Toys more.

I see no point in continuing the character if I've done most quests.
Going around killing things isn't very satisfying and other than that there is little to do.
Easier to just create a new character and take on a new role really.
So once I feel that my character has done most of what it wanted to do then I go for the end quest and start a new one instead.

So, ideas for what to do after completing most main quests?
I got zilch. :(

This actually sounds like a cool idea.

Lord knows there's enough Dinky dinosaurs to create battlefields all over the Mojave.

Create a pile of active land mines, stand on top and then blast it with a rocket launcher- see how far you fly :tops:

1) Get a bunch of poker chips, a few thousand. Then make pac man mazes in the Lucky 38.

2) Fill the lounge in the Lucky 38 with Nuka Cola and other drinks on the tables, teddy bears and dino toys in the seats. Brings that place back to life.

3) Collect a bunch of Nuka Cola trucks and create traffic jams in Freeside.

4) Go to the Kings lair, steal all the king's outfits and jailhouse rockers inside and reverse pickpocket them on various NPCs in the wasteland to see who will wear them.

5) Fill a bathtub with pre war money, then fill another with jet, another with psycho etc etc...

I don't play many video games, so I have to do something while I wait for DLCs

Been there, done that. :P

Okay, I got one idea:
Go east of Nipton up on the cliffs where there are a bunch of Bighorners with no companions, clothing only, no healing items and a low level melee weapon and go to town on them.
That's a bucket of fun right there.
Those goats are [censored] dangerous when gimping oneself.

I knew I wasn't the only one who did that.

Also making fireworks with a pile of Pulse and Plasma Mines and setting it off with a mini nuke.

A few things I did in my most complete playthrough;

- All quests, including those for each companion
- All Challenges
- Explored as much as I could (its possible I missed some things accidently) everything in the map/no unknown locations
- Found all the Stat books
- Found all the unique weapons
- Got kicked out of all the casinos for winning too much.
- Installed some mods to add a few more things to do. For instance, Underground Hideout is cool to stash all the nice loot you've been collecting in one place.
