What age are your characters?

In terms of prestige for age, I guess fifty elven years are equivelant to five human years, starting from twenty.

My humans are always in their 20s, mostly on the reasoning that if you're starting off at level 1 but old enough to be in jail (lol) then 20-30 is a good fit.

They're old enough to know better, but still too young to care.

40-50. 46 to be exact, i made it that way so i could write a decent back story involving the great war.

For humans typically 30-40, old enough to be experienced, young enough to be adventurous.

For me it depends on, of course, the race, but also my characters story.

In Skyrim, I have a Khajiit but he had lived in Elsweyr for 40 years or so before being exiled, and from here he traveled to Skyrim and is in his 40's, settling down after bathing in riches as the leader of the Thieve's Guild & killing the emperor.

I also have a Redguard character who is in his late 20's and travels to Skyrim to help with the fight against the Thalmor as his entire family died in the Great War/Resistance.

so yeah depends on the character haha

Old. Real old. My nords, bretons, imperials and reguards are usually between 50 and 80 and my elves are always 100+...

Considering most Altmer go on to live very long lives, 50 is a very young age for them. I'd assume their still in there adolescence at that point. But that's just my opinion.

This. My characters vary, but usually 35 - 40 if human, 200+ if Mer.

I like to think that the character was skilled before the game, but has gotten out of practice (thus explaining the ridiculous rate of mastery). The events of the game force the character to "get back in shape" and then achieve mastery due to the constant danger and general pressure.

Oh gawd... My dragonborn is a Vampire who remembers the Oblivion Crisis. He is 261 years old Nord, very deadly one.
However I like to "cheat" about their age a bit, for example, the mentioned above Dovahkiin started as very old man, but now ha is looking like in his mid 40s, why ? I RP that the pulse form the Eye of Magnus have altered his body a bit, etc.

I have an Altmer who lived during the events of the Oblivion Crisis. So that makes him at least 200 years old. Other than that, I don't really worry about my character's ages.

Well, merrish aging isn't just Human aging stretched out. They mature at roughly the same rate as humans. Then, for whatever reason, they stop aging a whole lot. Mentally they may be considered adolescent to other Mer but as far as humans go they are equivalent to a 50 year old human. More or less. If Barenziah is any indication, which is our only real indication lol. But based on what we know, what I just described is, imo, the most accurate theory on the matter.

I just thought they'd mature slower. Since they can live such a long time I assumed they'd be in no rush.

Perhaps psychologically, but not physiologically (I think a few sources say elves are fertile at around 17).

This as well, there may be something to the idea but if Ayrenn can be a Queen at 28 and a supposedly strong and competent one...then I just don't know lol. We only really have one source that says anything on the matter so we are in something of a drought of information about the subject for the most part. When there is only one source it is hard to know if it is accurate. Barenziah was around humans for a large portion of her life. it is possibly that Mer mature more rapidly based on their environment(although their aging doesn't seem affected as much seeing as how Barenziah lived to 400+ years old).

It depends. Human characters are usually in 30's (for backstory possibilities) but Elven characters range up to 500. Most of my dark elves are around 200 to 300 years old, allowing for backstory. Yes I write pretty complex and detailed backstories. I know, I need help.

Mine vary. One was an 18 year old elf. Another was 4,350 (she was an unwilling time-traveler).

Much like humans, I'd say circumstances dictate mental maturity, Ayrenn's circumstances demand that she step up to the plate and forego an adolescence of sorts.

Certainly a possibility. I still find s 28 year old Altmer Queen to be a major stretch though. Then again I am likely preaching to the choir here.

I would expect the Dragonborn (as a Nord) to be at least 20-30 years of age. I don't think a main character should be too old or too young.

One of my Oblivion characters ("Echo") is immortal (the way daedra are immortal, not "unkillable.") This character's existence is eternal, and the world begins anew every time she is killed and resurrected. (As happens, incidentally, when the player selects "New" from the game menu. )

Mine age. I normally start off at around 10 years old and gradually grow them via console commands until they reach around 30, at which time they are extremely high leveled and it's time to end the game.

Humans range 30-50, but my main squeeze is a Bosmer male with a long and storied past. He represents me in Daggerfall/Oblivion/skyrim and is probably very old even by Mer standards. (Consorting with Daedra has kept him agile) My #1 Nerevarine was a dunmer, a youngish 60 or so years old.
