what announcement about TES V would you like to see?

Post » Sat Feb 26, 2011 11:23 pm

would you like to see them announce the return of seperated armor. perhaps you want levitation back. fallout 3 style level scaling. what floats your boat?

my personal wish would be for a virus that would transform beast races into some new, original races.

Pretty much everything that was removed from Morrowind, for a start.

That it will be in stores tomorrow. Anyway, seriously, I want them to get rid of the "world levels with you" thing. I want to go into certain places and run out screaming like a little girl, just like in Morrowind.

Also this. I couldn't even get into Morrowind (only because I played Oblivion first; it's still a great game) and I still hated this about Oblivion. This also caused the "Bandits in Daedric armor" issue.

That sounds good to me. Since we don't even have any confirmation that it's actuallly being made, announcing its development will be a good place to start.

But after that, it would also be nice to learn that it will have levitation, spears, proper Khajiit and Argonians (By which I mean ones that couldn't just pass for humans wearing animal masks and fake tails.) lycanthropy, and a unique world that will actually make me feel like I'm exploring a new place instead of the same generic landscape most other fantasy games have.

Of course what I really want is a game that can excel in every way, combine all the strengths of earlier games, and improve upon all aspects which need improving, but I probably need to keep my expectations realistic.

Interestingly, Morrowind had level scaling too, yet the only person you'd find with full (Outside of a helmet.) Daedric armor in the original game was a single old wizard who was quite powerful and you probably wouldn't want to kill even if you could since he is needed for the main quest.

Oddly enough the level-scaling in Oblivion worked the other way around at the same time too. When I reached a certain level, I found that there were suddenly Will-o-the-Wisps everywhere. I do want to have moments where I have to flee a place screaming like a little girl, just not every place. *shudder*

Agreed. With the added benefit that which side you pick drastically changes the world around you. (You can't enter certain towns or regions without getting a price on your head, or your superiors will nearly lobbing your head off for talking to the rival clan/group)

Also it being announced.

Something along the lines of;
"We are working on TES5. Watch this space."

At this point, that would be plenty.

I'm eagerly awaiting the announcement that Bethesda has signed an agreement for the rights to use "Barney" as a playable intelligent "Guar" in the next TES installment. Obviously, an agreement to use the Barney theme song would follow shortly after. The announcement would have a profound effect on the series: Fargoth and The Adoring Fan would no longer be the most hated characters in the TES universe.

"We have been working on it for many years, but after reading all 150ish pages of suggestions by our players, we believe that we are ready to announce our latest and biggest game ever. We will take the next couple of months to distribute beta-versions of the game to our loyal fanbase at the Bethesda Softworks Forums for patiently sticking by us and will make last minute changes with the game based on their feedback. TES V will be in stores in 2011, but the amount of content should keep you busy for years to come."

I'd like to see Ted Peterson and MK write for TES V. I loved levitation in "Morrowind", but I can live without it, since the technology today doesn't permit it the way MW did. What I'd like to see is a game that takes place in several (former) provinces, and that doesn't imitate the main quest of "Oblivion". I would prefer it to be more advlt than Oblivion and even Morrowind, in how the temples are presented for example. I'd like romantic relationships (a la Baldur's Gate II) to be possible. I don't expect much from the game in the end, though, and I'm not even sure anymore if there will be a TES V. Hopefully there will be.

Realistically, I'd just like to know that it's on the way, and for them to reveal a couple of interesting tidbits for us to discuss while they continue development.

What I'd really like is any of the following:

- More detailed relationships with NPCs (inc. better chat system, more advanced emotional feedback, unique memories/opinions of the PC by NPCs, etc.)
- More customization (more spells, customizable clothing, more advanced character creation system, the ability to create buildings/landscapes outside of the CS)
- More in-depth and modernized combat systems for all schools (in particular, a more fluid magic system and an overhauled stealth system)
- The whole world in one cell
- More incentives to explore / fewer incentives to fast travel
- Thousands of unique NPCs, weapons, locations, and quests

"June 18th, 2010 ROCKVILLE, MD-- Bethesda Game Studios a Zenimax Media company announced today that they are working on the follow-up to their Game of the Year winning Elder Scrolls title Oblivion titled, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. In production since 2006, the game is set 200 years after the events of the previous installment, and set in the cold northern province of Tamriel. Rife with the political unrest that has beset the crumbling Empire and besought with provincial warring unlike anything in the history of series, Skyrim seeks to redefine the series by including even more depth and character to an already rich and vibrant world. The continent to the north, Akavir, is now primed to invade the now dissident Tamriel, and the war that will change the face of Nirn is about to begin..."
