What apparel would you never wear

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:53 am

lol! I never tried Brick. I always let her die/kill her for Eugene. You are so much nicer than I am!!! And I don't want what Ashur has so I've never done him either, but Vance, omg, have I've spent so much time trying to pickpocket him. Casdin is nearly impossible as well. I just gave up on him. I've never successfully pickpocketed/RPP'd him although I know it can be done.

Oh, and I would have put Autumn on that list....

I never knew you had a thing for Autumn. It's the accent, isn't it? ;) I forgot to put Mister Burke on my list. I love his voice actor so much that I'm listening to him now. He had better be in Skyrim or I will cry. You hear that devs? I will cry. You don't want that on your consciences do you? *crickets*

I have not been fortunate enough to have Brick die unless I helped her out with a plasma overdose. Once I wanted both Eugene and the armor from her and spent a good 30 minutes reloading to get it. Ashur is the same way. I pickpocketed both of them twice but now I just help myself with the Groovatron :hehe:

Casdin is really tough but in my experience, he's a walk in the park compared to those two. Plus, he's more fun to whack with a stick.

Charon (sorry llama, we'll have to take turns)
Crazy Wolfgang
Vance

Now you done made me want to list my top 5. :hehe:

Butch
Edgar
Eulogy
Argyle
And all the random Male Raiders (I have a thing about dirty muscular guys)

Anyways back on topic, I absolutely refuse to wear any Power Armor. It's so big and bulky, and in the wasteland desert heat I don't see how anyone could move around in that.

Just for the record I'm not talking about the dead Argyle in Rockapolis, I meant his character on The Adventures of Herbert Daring Dashwood. :P

...then again he's still a ghoul, so I guess it says something creepy about me one way or another.

I would never wear Doctor Li's outfit. There's not enough Abraxo and Turpentine in all of the Capital Wasteland to clean her cooties off that.

It would probably be safe to wear if you had a cootie shot beforehand.

Alright, here we go:

The Caravan Guard of Crazy Wolfgang.
Kimba.
Lucy West.
Crow.
Vance.

I understand what you see in Argyle from the radio show. He's hot in there.

Not so sure about Butch - I would love to test him as a follower, but I can't be bothered to do anything for the main quest at the moment, mostly because I'd rather do some of the DLCs, instead. I loathed him during the char gen phase, but I am very curious about how he might be as a follower. He might be potentially quite hot as such.

And on topic: I also wouldn't ever wear any power armor or force any follower to wear these.

Butch is argueably the worst follower, mostly because he has the lowest health and can die easily even when equipped with the best gear. However he's still fun to have around for roleplay purposes. Like I said before he's great for roleplaying a boyfriend for female characters because of his dialog, and thre's also the fact that he and the Lone Wanderer grew up together so he can be a sort of best friend for the main character.

From the ones I have tested so far (all except the paladin and Butch), the worst follower for me personally was Fawkes. Always the sound of a tank behind me. Always that insane shouting of a supermutant. All that kill stealing. And he always broke my "hidden" status when we entered a building. I know that he is indestructible and stats-wise the "best" follower around, but he was just unbearable for me.

I am really not looking for statistically superiour followers; I am looking for interesting and fun ones. Butch might be both, plus, he is indeed sort of pretty (not as pretty as the Caravan Guard of Crazy Wolfgang, but still pretty.) And if he's wearing some crappy outfit from the vault by default, this opens a lot of possibilities for dressing him nicely. :liplick: It all depends on his actual lines as a follower though... the lines and voice acting are the reason why I absolutely detest and loathe Clover, after all. I really should get a move on and finally do some more main quest.

I love Clover's dialogue! It's the one reason she has become my favourite companion. I never get bored of her. I think she has the most colourful dialogue of any follower. For this reason alone she would make my top three as well. :hehe:

In my current game I only recruited her last night, actually. I had to loot the Museum of History and sell the Lincoln memorabilia(including the Repeater) to raise the caps to do it, but it was well worth it.

Well then you should enjoy Butch, he has some pretty funny and interesting dialog. Just be warned that it'll be a chore keeping him alive. ;)

I like Clover too, and she is certainly very provocative, but I think I'd have to argue that Jericho has the most colorful dialouge. lol.

Clover is my companion of choice, but I admit her dialog isn't as interesting as the other companions. However I think she's a good follower because she's loyal no matter what your karma is (though you need to be evil to buy her the first time), you can easily customize her with different outfits, she's actually pretty tough in combat when given the right gear, and she's a hot slavegirl which makes her useful for all sorts of roleplay rather it's because you want to be evil and keep her as an evil minion or roleplay a good character who rescued her from Paradise Falls and she became grateful and decided to join you.

My companions of choice would be (so far):

Jericho (as long as I am evil). He is enjoying himself a lot as the companion of an evil LW, and that is enjoyable to listen to. "Hell yeah!"

Charon. He is pretty bland though. The most amusing line of his was an "I don't like the look of this place" when we just had entered my house in Megaton.

RL-3. "Die, you commie son-of-a-[censored]!"

As for survivability of them... I'm using a mod that sets them all to essential. I don't know how problematic this might be if I do to Paradise Falls what this town would deserve.

Since we're in an armour and outfit thread: The only companion who's outfit I changed was Clover. Jericho and Charon do fine in their default sets, and they look good in these as well. :)

Yes, she is all of those things, and I like her a lot, too. She's my second favorite (I'm devoted to Charon) and I think her dialogue is great, I just wish she had more of it. I do get tired of hearing her talk about Eulogy.

So............could we get back to the topic of the thread?

Another thing I would never wear is the antagonizer suit. I do however with one character wear the mechanist suit, as he IS the mechanist with a 6 robot army following him everywhere. (Robco Certified Mechanist's Edition) I can even make mechanist power armor.

I never wear most of the headgear in the game, since I don't tend to wear things on my head in reality. Wouldn't wear either one of the pseudo-hero suits either, just not my style.

I would never wear these outfits unless I absolutely had to.

Slave outfits
Vaultsuits
Brahmin Skin Outfit
Prewar Baseball Cap
Wasteland Settler
Merc Grunt
Wasteland Doctor
Male Prewar Casual Wear <
Male Prewar Relaxed Wear < Ugh knitwear, shudder.
Badlands Armour

The Bombshell Armour is the stupidest armour I have ever seen.

I always wear some kind of headgear since I always wear one in reality! Interesting differences. I guess some of us do role play how we might in reality, if only a little bit.

I don't really have anything I'd think of as particularly hideous, but there are things I'd rather not wear. I wouldn't wear a motorcycle helmet, that's for damn sure...

I'd wear the Chinese Stealth armor even without the stealth field -minus that shiny helmet that'd be better off with a bullseye emblazoned on it's front. But, first armor priority for me would be some combat armor, which I would repaint black or natural tones.

the stupid raider armors. there so lame. I use the Merc outfits more than anything or the power armors or ranger armors. like, Reillys Ranger armor she gives you the option to have after you complete the Reillys Rangers quest.
