What are my chances if... (roll question)

Post » Fri Jan 02, 2015 10:53 pm

Greetings

I have this idea of a roll I wanna play. I haven't got it all planned but it's starts out as this.

More than likely a mage background race who's parents recognize my magical skills and

want to send me to the college of Winterhold to further my education in magic to help others.

Not a battle character or a killer of anything. Will make my way crafting and selling potions too.

This is what I have so far.

So, what are my chances of survival if my parents drop me off at Winterhold College?

It will be an alternate start.

Interested in what you think or some add on ideas. Thanks! -oldplayer

Any Race can survive starting in the College of Winterhold, but the character will need Gold to purchase Spellbooks to survive Draugr in Saarthal. Flames is actually a decent Spell at lower levels if a character has room to cast, back away, and recast. The Flame Atronach is a useful Summon for indirect support of squishy Mages.

Since this is in the Spoilers Section, the Atronach Forge in the Midden of the College can be used with Gear found in the College to create a Staff of Storm Atronach. the recipe is a Broom, an Oricalcium Ingot, a portion of Void Salts, and a Greater Soul Gem. The Greater Soul Gem may require theft.

I use the Necromancer in a secret lair from Alternate Start - Live Another Life for most of My Mages due to Spellbooks and Ingedients in the starting location. Getting out of the location can be difficult, but the Player is closer to the College of Winterhold, has a small amount of Gold, and can often get a decent Spell from Faralda when entering the College.

Thanks bradleyh. Gives me some ideas. When i said alternate start I meant as soon I'm free of the intro

I would cc to Winterhold and just put a little gold in my pocket from a get me started gift from parents.

So you recommend the actual mod alternate start?
