what are deathclaws

Not questioning the deathclwaw?s intelligence. I?m talking about the people who made them.
I mean, could the screw up be any worse? They let loose hundreds of hostile and extremely dangerous beasts into the world!
Dont the people have enough trouble as it is? :shakehead:

From what I remember (without referencing the wiki), the Deathclaw was the result of pre-war experiments, and so when the bombs dropped they could escape their captivity and start breeding, they aren't sterile. So whilst we see many Deathclaws in the Core Region, there may have only been a few to begin with. Post-war (or at least continued from pre-war) came the commencement of augmenting their intelligence to a higher threshold, so they could understand simple commands and obey leadership in a military scenario. These experiments were endorsed by the Enclave post-war, and were victims of their own success, making the deathclaws too intelligent without realising. Ironically, the deathclaws developed an understanding of their intelligence and purpose, and 'played dumb' so they wouldn't be terminated. These intelligent deathclaws were placed inside Vault 13 after the Enclave killed and enslaved the Vault Dwellers there, to keep people out and to foreshadow Enclave activities in the Vault. However these deathclaws developed an affinity to humans, and were arguably too trusting, but this was a flaw the Enclave didn't spot, and so Frank Horrigan terminated them personally. Goris, possibly the most intelligent deathclaw at Vault 13, and very cultured as a result, is the only known survivor of the Massacre. You can free another one of these intelligent Deathclaws from Navarro, called Xarn, but his fate is unknown, either he was intercepted by Horrigan on his way to the pack at Vault 13, or he was present for the V13 massacre. Either this, or he became a wanderer. But the intelligent race of Deathclaws are assumed to no longer exist, Xarn and Goris died without continuing their bloodline. The Enclave now apply mind control probes present in 2277 D.C to combat this previous error of judgement.

i'm pretty sure i've seen atleast 2 other threads concerning deathclaws, is it a rule on internet forums to just ignore the search function or something?

sorry if people find this offensive but it's just so ridiculous, it actually takes less time to use the search function than it does to create a thread and wait for a response.
oh well i guess it's just a vain hope people will learn.

Maybe you should try that search function. Go on. Type in "Deathclaw" find what you're looking for ^_^

Maybe some people aren't aware of a tighter search parameter feature, maybe some people aren't aware of a forum search feature altogether. Hell, you might aswell get pissed at anyone who DARES to query information readily available in ANY established information resource EVAR!.

We're here to help. I am at least, where I can :P svcks that things like this affect you so adversely, maybe that's something we can work on. Buy a medicine ball, control youre breathing, aaaaaaaand *spaz*

are you seriously implying i should accept stupidity?

now in all honesty my frustation with stuff like this stems from more forums i regularly visit, anyway i did try using the search function and i found the exact threads i was referring to.
it just seems to me atleast like the same topics get recycled every few months, and for the record i have no problems with people asking questions, but only after they have tried looking for the information first, i have no respect for people who just take the easy route and expect everything to be handed to them on a silver platter.

and trust me when i say when i do spaz out you'll know it :nuke:
this just annoyed me, i'm tired of seeing the same threads.

but like i said in my previous post, i will just have to svck it up and accept people are lazy.

I just started a Fallout world FAQ:

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_world_FAQ

for similar recurring questions. :)

Any further suggestions?
