What are some skills you always make sure you tag?

I always pick Guns and Speech no matter what speech is one of the most useful skills to have in this game

I almost always tag melee. The rest just depend on the build I'm going for.

In New Vegas and Fallout 3 I don't care that much, I get so many skill points and tagged skills do nothing beyond +15 increase so I don't have anything I generally tag.
In Fallout 1 and 2 on the other hand I generally tag Speech.

Repair, science, and explosives. Than after I leave Goodsprings I change them to having Speech, lockpicking, and either guns or energy weapons depending on what I want to do.

I don't always tag a certain skill depending on my character but my first and main always has guns, speech, medicine, repair and either lockpick or sneak as what is focused on.

I meant the 15 point boost for the beginning. Repair is a must for me, no matter the level.

I don't think I have a "Must Tag" skill. Maybe my main weapon type. In the new games it doesn't really matter since you have plenty of points to spread around.

Though, I do see the usefulness in tagging Lockpicking. Some of the earlier areas have harder to unlock safes. And let's face it. Once you are out of the starting areas you almost never go back. Like I always seem to miss Lucky because I forget about it by the time I do have enough Lockpicking skill to get it.

9 times out of 10 I'll tag speech - it's just too useful for all sorts of reasons at the beginning to pass up.

Whatever fits the character concept
It wouldn't seem right for a Tribal Hunter to be better at Repair and Speech than they are at Sneak and Survival even if they are more useful

Hi new guy welcome to the forum. Thanks, it's nice to be here.

In NV, before I leave Goodsprings I tag speech, barter, and repair so I can get the extra stims from the doc and pass a couple speech checks plus make a few caps. Once I leave I'll pick something not based on charisma--at least one weapon skill (probably guns, but explosives also works for me) and maybe lockpick and/or science.

If you Tag 4 skills that's 60 points you don't have to spend while levelling up. IJS.

I tag: Repair/Speech/Guns/Lockpick
