"Vanilla" means a completely unmodded game. UNBP and TBBP are different female body replacers.

As far as favorite mods go, what exactly are you looking for? Rebalancing combat, perks, magic, etc.? New quests and new lands to explore? Enhanced graphics, new armors, weapons and such?

There are thousands of mods available for Skyrim, and everyone is going to have their own list of "must haves." A good place to start looking for very popular mods is at the Skyrim Nexus Top Files page.

Before you start moddiing your game, take some time to watch these tutorial videos and get an idea of what you need to know first.

Start slow, thoroughly read readme files and other documentation that comes with mods, add mods a few at a time, play test your setup before adding more, and start getting familiar with some of the modding tools you'll need to use (BOSS, Nexus Mod Manager, Wrye Bash, etc.).

Modding Skyrim is entirely based upon your personal preference. My favorite mods are in my sig.

i would say start slow as well.

i just went through and spent over a week trying to get all my mods compatible, i was using over 200.

but it can easily break your game, like it did mine, even if you take all the necessary precautions.

Once you pick a few mods you like, you need to read up on how to use a mod manager like NMM or Wyre Bash, you may need to create patches for certain mods to work together for that you would use Wyre Bash. You may need to clean some mods that can cause instability in your game, you need TES5Edit for that.

also need to make sure youre load order is correct, you can use BOSS, but also reading all the documentation with the mods you get, especially the compatibility sections. so you know which mod should be before/after another mod in your list.
