Post » Fri Jun 18, 2010 8:05 pm

Im beginning to get quite bored of this game, repeating the same things over and over, but i know theres still plenty i havent done, so what do you think are the best quests in the game, and for what reason?

Honestly, I'd say Still In The Dark and For Auld Lang Syne. Definately my two favorites.

I liked the quest from Camp Forlorn Hope to upgrade the radios quite a bit. Camp Guardian was one of the best areas in the game and it was great fun exploring to find the camps.

Most of the companion quests, because they're longer & more convoluted to achieve.
3 Card Bounty's fun, but more straightforward combat.
Helios One.
I liked Restoring Hope too, even tho it's pretty straightforward.

I dunno...I liked most of them, really.

Ehhhh FO3 was a shorter game for me. Not much shorter, but it definitely had fewer hours of fun. NV is a pretty superior game in every respect.

Can there be one thread that doesn't turn into FO3 vs. FNV?

The main thing I loved about that quest was that you actually had to try and leave the head intact. Being the sniper I am, this presented a small amount of challenge, as most of my engagements these days are from a large distance.

Agree. And if you like companions, you leave them waiting far away. :D
I also liked the option to use 1st Recon with one of them. It has some issues re: the head too, if you let them take shots, but it was just fun working "with" them. I wish there had been more interactive moments like that, even if the AI is crud.

I agree haha, after the first fiends head exploded, I knew better. :D
I liked that part too, though more often than not they take the headshot so. :shrugs: I really do wish FNV had more interactions like that too though... makes things interesting.

Return to Sender has to be my favorite quest of all time, it's a really good insight into the kinds of things that the NCR thinks. Kind of gave me a whole new perspective on them, a reason to their rhyme in a way, though it is absolutely crucial you read/listen to every bit of dialogue to get the full experience. Especially Chief Hanlon's speech which has given me a new respect for the character, and puts him high on my list of interesting Fallout characters.

That one in a vault and that other one in a vault and then there was that one who took place in a vault and Volaré.

Volare was just a meh collection of fetch quests nothing special although seeing the bomber was ok but it didn't get me all tingly in my pants  .

Silkforcade, no offense, but every time someone mentions something FO3 does better than FONV (their opinion of course) you immediately denounce them and say almost everything in FONV is better. I don't understand why you feel it is your duty to inform everyone how superior FONV is when everyone has different views of different games.

On topic: I liked the White Glove Society quest (Beyond the Beef) and (not so much a quest) finding out what happened in Vault 11.

Return To Sender's one of the most tedious quests I've ever played in any game, ever.

Anyway, the vaults are good, as are most of the companion quests. I like Camp Searchlight too. Ummm... if you want something combat-heavy I guess 3-Card Bounty, Crazy, Crazy Crazy and Bleed Me Dry (formulaic as it is) are decent as well.

Oh! And Beyond The Beef, that's pretty cool.

Then there was that mountain and that other mountain and then there was that hill and Come Fly With Me.

And in every thread, someone talks about how much better FO3 is. Why don't you make a response like you just made to those people?

It's quite obvious and really disheartening. It's because you ARE one of those people.

Good day.

The unmarked quest in vault 11, one of the few times I wanted to find out what happened without being rewarded.
The quest series from camp Mc Carren was good.
The quest series from the Atomic Wranger from the bother/sister team was entertaining. "Think of the possabilities" lol

How is a quest that has you travel the world and find out a ton about the setting a tedious quest? Going to each camp was a new adventure. That quest took me several hours and I loved every minute of it.

Exactly.
Return to Sender also, much like the main quest, provides one of the most difficult moral decisions in the game.
