So what are the fallout forums like now?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:33 am

The one thing I hope is that Bethesda does not take most of the people opinions of this forum about the next fallout 4 game because they represent such a small minority who just cannot move on.

Oh look, its someone claiming to speak for the Majority... Just like all those others. It seems that the only thing true about those who claim to speak about the Majoirty is that the Majority of them don't speak for the majoirty at all.

I find your post to be an interesting contraduction. On one hand you claim you left because "it was getting bad in here", yet your post seems to just rehash old talking points to restart those arguments.

*Sigh* I do not see all of this "Fallout 3 hate" so much as people, such as the OP, saying that the original fans need to go away and be forgotten because we like the games that started the series.

Great way to miss interpret what I'm saying and twist it around.

If you can, go to a forum where there are hardly any old school fallout fans and look at the difference of the mood and quality of posts. I think I do speak for the majority. Just look ay user reviews on the right http://uk.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/fallout3/index.html?tag=result%3Btitle%3B1

1. Ok there was plenty of dialouge that was fun and engaging and 2. same with the side quests they usually have some moral dilemma to them. 3. And come fly with me you can randomly just make the rockets crash into each other and killing the aliens thats EVIL to me yeah 4. there was a lot of action and a lot of people liked 5. sorry we aint all pacifists and 6. special and skills are dumbed down in both games. 7. And your being a prime example of a fallout dinosaur meanie  8. And there was alot more then 17 sidequests.

1. Not enough dialogue, some characters existed only to tell me three random sentences of absolutely nothing.
2. The ghoul situation? Other than that, what were those?
3. Crashing the rockets into each other doesn't make much sense to me either, I'll use it as a roleplaying option, that my character is kind hearted and wants to help them but due to her being so god awful at electronics she fumbles the controls and accidentally crashes the rockets into each other, cause her to try to help every single ghoul in her sight.
4. Seeing as Michael Bay movies are popular I'm not surprised people liked the action in FO3, but it's not my cup of tea, especially not when in a Fallout game.
5. So just cause I want less combat I have to be a pacifist?
6. That they were, but FO3's was REALLY dumbed down, at least NV's has some action and consequence to it's SPECIAL and better importance to it's skils.
7.
8. No, in the vanilla game there were 17 sidequests.

Damn, no, no more FO3 vs True Fallout, sorry for the derail.

That makes no sense.

Thats like saying if I go to a Ford forum then I'll discover that noone likes GM cars, therefore GM cars a rubbish.

The fact is places like here, the Vault, and NMA are where the fallout fans truly are. The others I'd argue probably aren't fans - they might like the game, but they're not motivated enough to really be fans.

This is because this is how a new comer to fallout feels about the game, guess what they LIKE it. I just want to put my point across because I feel bethesda did a great job and so did obsidion but damn beth seem to get a lot of flak for it,

I have heard loads of people say that they would of preferd bioware brought the franchise, Really have you played dragon age 2?

only to point out your knocks of NV are lacking ground as to compare to Fallout 3, i try to be balanced, sorta, other than my obvious bias to Fallout 1&2

I'd be very careful about making that second argument.... You can make that argument about anyone, do you really want Bethesda to make the game, they'll make you pay for Brahmin Armour!

I'm sure people do like it, and I think that Fo3 has the look and feel that FO1 would have if it were made today. However the writing was bad for a supposed westen RPG, the entire storyline was as railroaded as the Flying Scotsman. There were no options of Consequence at any point.

1 I can't think of one named npc that had the amount of dialouge u stated
2 Ummm cliche but cesar's legion can be construed as evil
3 HUH?
4 Fo3 had as much action as fonv if not slightly more.
5 It was a joke
6 Nice excuse ohhh strenght requirments with a perk to almost irradicate it yaaay.
7
8 No there was 18 trophy related side quests there was plenty more quests .Like the angela staley and diego fiasco help mend the water pipes for the guy in megaton (walter i think ).Bring back tech for paladin casidan for the outcasts.

The same can be said for FO:NV.

Look all I'm saying is that when someone say's something good about FO3 is there really any need to chime in and say how bad the story is?

Which is exactly my point - don't make the "YOu don't want X becuase they did Y badly" argument because you can do that for anyone or anything.

This is a discussion board, not a "one sided opinion board". If you don't want people to debate/discuss your points then I suggest writing on a static website with no interactive features.

Pretty aggressive reply. You're right a discussion board and if people have to stoop so low as to insulting someones intelligence, well then there is not much I can say.

Hmm maybe but you have to understand that getting insulted because you like a game is madness.

Yes, it is.

"The one thing I hope is that Bethesda does not take most of the people opinions of this forum about the next fallout 4 game because they represent such a small minority who just cannot move on."
"Please when fallout 4 comes out do not buy it if you're a fallout 1,2 fan as you will just bring the board down with all your complaining."
"If you can, go to a forum where there are hardly any old school fallout fans and look at the difference of the mood and quality of posts. I think I do speak for the majority."
"The fallout 1,2 fan boys were getting pretty nasty."

EDIT:
Please don't think that I'm picking a side here. I'm just attempting to show the hypocrisy in your argument. You are the exact same as you perceive the FO1/2 fans to be.

WOW  thats what we mean.

So you are angry because they withdrew their argument and apologized for starting a derailing argument? That's kinda rude.

@hidden_away, i havent seen any insults like you say for a while, most of us are rather cordial. more often lately it is us being insulted, like you saying how we should leave the series we love and be forgotten so we dont slow down bethesdas wave of the future...

Sorry but I'm not a walkover, if someone is going to insult me then I am going to give it back. Do you truly think I would say that without being baited?

How bout you just browse through some of the current threads and tell me I am wrong?

Plus everything you quoted me saying is damn well true!

And you have just nit picked at everything I have said and spin it to make me look bad,

I'm sorry if you feel that's aggressive, or insulting your intelligence. I can assure you its neither and there's no attack in that response except that which you chose to make for yourself.

I agree sometimes we can get a bit agressive or unwelcoming here, but to suggest that people shouldn't counter another's points on a discussion forum just seems silly.

All i have ever seen is people calling Fallout 3s story [censored] and the game too reliant on explosions and dungeon crawling, and i can symathize, i try not to do this because i kinda like exlosions and dungeon crawling , just not in my fallout :fallout:

It is the response that gets things going, instead of counteraction, it leads to a big argument over who's opinion is better, and sales figures, because sales figures, sales figures never change.

I dont rightly agree with this hostile wording, because it causes arguments.
