What are the specs you play fallout 4 on

Post » Sat Feb 20, 2016 9:03 pm

i7-4790 4.00GHz

32GB Ram

GeForce GTX 770

I play with mostly a mix of High and Ultra Settings. Max view distances & I tweaked ini's for higher settings & increased uGrid.

Runs smooth, only time it gave me a bit of lag was with Godrays on Ultra in a big fight (I think it's set to medium or high now).

I went to 10 while I was still playing ESO and it was impressive how much smother it ran than 7, although frame rates did not change much. I have had no problems with F4 and I'm pretty sure 10 has less crap running than 7.

Geforce GTX 760
Intel Core i5-4590 @ 3.30GHz
8 GBs Ram
1920 x 1080 60HZ, I think 27 INCH
Win 10

For cooling I have four fans including the one on my GPU, I want to eventually upgrade to a 970, more gigs of ram and a water cooler but I don't have enough money. Either for now I get to play on a good enough graphics and the game doesn't look complete ass or run like complete ass so I'm fine.

See my sig for my rig's specs.

For a "monitor", I use my new Samsung 55" 9000 Series Curved UHD 4k TV connected via an Audioquest "Cinnamon" HDMI cable (for video only).

For "audio", I run off my PC with an Audioquest "Cinnamon" optical cable into a Mobile Fidelity "V90-DAC" digital/anolog converter, then via a pair of DH Labs "Silversonic" interconnects (silver conductors) into a Music Hall "Ph 25.2" dedicated tube headphone amplifier. I listen with Sennheiser "HD 650" headphones.

I play with my ass parked in a comfy futon using a wireless 360 Controller, and with a wireless keyboard and mouse as an option.

I'm currently running several texture replacers @1920x1080 capped @ 60FPS with zero stutter/framerate loss. Plan on playing around w/ pushing my resolution much higher.

Also happy to report after several hundred hours of Fallout 4, I've not experienced a single CTD=) *knocks-on-wood*

Probably more info than you asked for OP, but, wth...

The specs built into the PS4. :P

In all honesty, I do have a laptop but it wouldn't be anywhere near as powerful as any of the computers listed here. Hence why I go with consoles for most video games, and keep my laptop to MMORPGs.

You beat me in CPU speed, has to look into overclocking again only 4GGz, else very similar speck.

Old system dating back to 2003, no none of the parts are still in it ;) not even the case.

4.3 GHz i5-3570k, GTX 680 4 GB, 8 GB 1600 RAM, SSD. I built it 3.5 years ago.

Most settings on high; some on medium to low and even off (can't remember all the specifics). I'm using Subtle ENB, weather mod, landscape textures mods, and season mod.

I'm getting 54-60fps @1080p with occasional stutter that seems to coincide moving across cell boundary. Occasional framerate drop when there are multiple vertibirds about (I also use a vertibird mod) but overall it's quite rare. The game looks gorgeous with the ENB and mods.

The performance is good enough that I can't justify upgrading yet. I'm waiting for Nividia's Pascal to arrive (probably wait for the ti version) before building a new gaming rig with new CPU and GPU.

Intel i7 2600k oc'd to 4.4 GHz

2 SSD (1 for games, other for OS) + 1 hdd for downloads and other crap

Those are pretty much the essentials, I believe. There's other stuff in my pc I haven't mentioned, but they aren't really relevant to the discussion at hand.

AMD A6-3620 2.2 GHz

8 GB RAM

It would barely run the game, so I threw an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 graphics card at it. Now it seems to run fine on "Ultra". Apparently the graphics card is more critical than the CPU.

GPU is more important for games than CPU, only exception I know about is Kerbal space program.

Yes cpu matters too but its far less critical.

No DAW here just sound straight from the motherboard. My GTX 970 is as silent as a slab of stone in the middle of a mountain with no whine at all. Not sure if the whine was due to the earlier model version that others have experienced.

Woah godly sweet audio setup. Must be one euphoric high your feeling as you get up after a gaming session :D

Two can play that game.

Muse Audio DAC from the mobo. Sonic Frontiers factory tweaked SFL-1 Signiture Preamp, Kimber Cable to the Sonic Frontiers SFM 75 Monoblocks, running about 85 watts a side through Svetlayna 6650s. Then Tara Time and Space Speaker Cables biwired to B&W Matrix 1s. Completely rebuild crossovers, MIT Multicaps etc.

My GTX 780 hooks up to a 30" 2560x1600 display.

I fell cheap now, oh well.

I5 6600

GTX 970

8GB Ram

My framerate is delicious on Ultra. I built my PC especially for the release of Fallout 4 - I've never really had an 'up to date' PC before. It was very satisfying booting up for the first time and seeing 'Settings selected for Ultra High Quality', I can tell you.

I had that same feeling when I booted up my current pc for Skyrim. Of course when I did, I fully expected those settings, anything less than ultra would've annoyed me to no end.

And for the most part, I am still running Fallout on ultra, but am no longer getting that buttery smooth 60 fps everywhere I go. It's okay though, I don't really need that sort of thing to enjoy my game. Nowadays if I'm going to spend over a grand on something, it's going to look something http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductDetails/1911-extreme.aspx

Naturally, I'll need to upgrade my pc eventually, but hopefully I'll be able to hold off until closer to TES VI, however, I doubt this pc will make it quite that long, we'll see.

I agree. As long as you have a second generation i5 or i7 or better your probably OK. Software hasn't caught up yet, and the gains on latter generations haven't improved all that much. TThere's only so much you can do with silicon

Well, my laptop can run NV at least.

Luckily my lovely PS4 can run Fallout as smooth as a baby.

Try getting the EVGA ACX 2.0 version of the GTX 970. Better quality cooling components on the card.
