Very very stupid rule imho, why make the boards PS-13 rating when this game will more than likly be M rated and even than most of the stuff in TES games seems to be T rated games but has sixual and violence in the games so why do Modds care? On Topic: I think he/she is in jail for walking into a house and seeing the guard/priest/chief/head person (whatever ) commit advltery!

If it is anything like Oblivion you won't know why you are in prison nor will it be explained.

However it would be cool if you could choose a detailed background story to explain why you are in prison. The storys could just be text based and have minor affects on your starting stats, kinda like how it was done in Arcanum.

In that case I'd choose escaped mental health patient who had been arrested by the guards for streaking in the city center.

Once, in the city of Falkreath, there was an argonian/dark elf (depends on the race I choose) who was a Dragonborn. A dragon attacked the town, and in the middle of the battle, he accidentally hit a fleeing citizen. Suddenly, one of the guards fighting off the dragon dropped everything to run after him and say "STOP! You violated the law! Pay the court a fine or serve your sentance! Your stolen goods are now forfeit!" And he was arrested for assault and stolen goods, even though he'd never stolen anything but it's in the guard's dialogue so it doesn't matter if you did or not. He got hauled off to jail, and so it began. It made no sense because the town was being attacked by a dragon at the time so an accidental dismemberment of an arm is probably the least of their worries since some random npc was gonna die anyway. I just find it funny how a guard was busy casually hauling somebody off to jail while a dragon is blowing everything up behind him.

No but really, he was framed for a killing spree to cover up a battle that took place in a city.

Because they knew they couldn't ruin the game with them. If they make them invincible, everyone hates kids. If they make them killable, parents and the news will bash the game, countries will to ban it (Germany/Australia usually). Then they added them to Fallout just to make us angry.
