As a little sidestory, when I first played Falllout back in 98 or 99, I did not know that I could name my character, and since my English was not very good back , when I was eleven years old, I thought None was the name of the Vault Dweller. Once I realised that I could rename hin and that none only means no name, I found it funny and kept the name for Fallout 2. Although I name my character after myself usually I have always made a playthrough in many games where I named myself None in reference to my mistake 16 years ago.
Male would be my first name and wife would be Courtenay
Lol, cool story. And I don't mean that in the sarcastic, rude, meme way. Any name with a meaning or a story behind its conception is always more meaningful than just some made up name that sounds cool.
Using the names Jack and Nora for my dual-playthrough that I have planned, so that they will refer to each other in-game using the correct names. These are my predictions for the default names as detailed in http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1527024-jack-and-nora thread.
Hats off to you for the extensive detective work. People like you make the wait and speculations all the more fun, connecting the unseen dots while referencing historical facts many of us are unaware of.
My character will likely be a male character named Enoch (pronounced ee-nick), I've been using it in TES and Fallout and similar games since at least 2008 since I really like it.
I just slam words together until something interesting comes out.

Ok.. nothing really great came out of that but it's a process. It can take some time.
Naming has never been my strong suit when it comes to RPG's to the point that I can't remember even the names of my characters with in depth back stories and who are fully fleshed out. Given that some characters will be able to vocalise your name in Fallout 4 I guess this is the time to make the name count. I've never been a fan of using my own name because I rarely play as myself. I plan of playing a black guy for my first and primary character I have a good idea of how I want my character to look but I'll probably decide on the name as I make my character.
Francis, which is incidentally my middle name and no doubt among Codsworth's bank of words.
For the female protagonist, methinks Caecilly. Just a nice name, IMO, although the spelling is an obscure reference to the Chimera of Desolation.
Beth (Elizabeth) for the female Sole Survivor, who is charismatic & can talk her way out of situations.
Ryan for the male Sole Survivor.
