I will go to the first settlement and talk to different npcs. I'm dead curious how the dialogue works.

Exploring the world! I'll be excited about everything, so I won't know what to do first and probably wander aimlessly on the map, doing a little bit of everything (fight, talk, steal, check the physics, the animations, the water, what's underwater, etc...)

Probably go to the city closest to Morrowind (walking there, of course). Then spend some time there. Then keep wandering east to the Morrowind border.

I'm going to set out and test the world to see how it interacts with me.

I'll walk down the nearest path to see whether something comes to attack me. If there are people on the road, I will find out where they are going and why and whether they're chatty folks. If the road is empty and nothing attacks me, I will wander off it looking for waterfalls and vistas. If I come across a dungeon, I will roll in and see whether it lives up to the hype of dungeons being unique and fascinating places, filled with traps and environmental puzzles.

After a taste of the environment I will go looking for people. When I first come to a small town, I will wander about seeing who is in the streets, what they are doing, whether they need help and whether their problems are large or small ones. I will find out what the gathering places are. Do guilds have outposts, or even representatives, here? What about the Imperial Legion, or other political factions? How do people spend their day and what are the industries of the town? Is the local tavern lively? Does a lot of traffic pass though here? Are the people taciturn or talkative? Do they have unique things to say? Do they approach me on their own or otherwise react to my presence?

By that point, I am certain that I will have accumulated more than one quest, and probably I will have been steered towards a larger city. Many things will have happened, and from there... I will go where the game takes me.

I enjoyed this post. ^_^

I'm probably gonna go to the nearest town and... wait for it... drop my sword in the street!

To be honest, I'll just go to the nearest dungeon and explore a bit first.

I'm going to locate and determine what level all the accessible dungeons are, but only if I'm outfitted as good as I was in OB at the start - Otherwise i'll look for other low level caves. This means if I encounter heavy resistance finding a dungeon, or resistance entering said dungeons, they'll be marked for later use.

Go hunting for Bandits. Or deer. Or other animals.

I earn gold and also get to explore the landscape.

Think I'll head for all the shops and checkout the equipment prices and see if there's any decent items available. More importantly, to see what items fetch the best prices! Then I'll probably go sit in the local Taverns for an hour and listen in on all the pvssyr. I guess the priority will be getting my first job, maybe swinging a pick or a sword..... an axe?

Who knows what the future holds, I may even become the City Executioner.

I expect I'll either do what I usually start my Morrowind and Oblivion playthroughs with once I can go anywhere I want, which is to explore either whichever town or city the game puts me in, or go to the nearest one if the game puts me somewhere out of the city. I'll likely talk to people, see if I can pick up some quests, try to get some starting equipment, that sort of thing. After that, I'm not really sure, maybe I'll go out and explore, maybe I'll do some of the side quests I got, or just go on with the main quest.

Gonna find the Synode and the College of Whispers, and join whichever comes across as the least arrogant and up themselves.

I will probably travel from city to city and join a few factions. Maybe start the main-quest. In other words: I have no idea ;)

The opening half hour or so of Morrowind was spent exploring around Seyda Neen (thinking it was a pretty good sized town for a game and expecting nothing that much bigger). I had a rubbish weapon so I ran from Mud Crabs and nearly got eaten alive by a slaughterfish in my panicked escape. I then went back to the big city and told everyone I'd help them out with their problems before making my way to Balmora. I did come back and help them out eventually.

The opening half hour of Oblivion was spent circling around the Imperial city in awe. I think I went for a swim before getting set upon by a timorous beastie. I don't think I actually went to the city. I went up a dirt track to the mountains to get a better view. I can't really remember after that.

Probably more like the Oblivion one.

Go to the nearest minor town, sell any possible loot I may have and get whatever cheap trashy gear I can afford. Then I'll head to the nearest dungeon and hopefully get my [censored] kicked

Go around killing bandits to get gold. They've always been a good way to start.

I plan to run naked through the wilderness, butchering native wildlife. I'd like to see how long it takes me to freeze to death. :toughninja:

I'll go where the main quest tells me, then get distracted by sidequests for hours untill the presence of dragons slips my mind completely, then a day or two later I'll think "Oh yeah, [censored] that's right, dragons...guess I should get on that."

Directly go into a town and see how dynamic it is, then initiate a lot of dialogue and see how it works in Skyrim, then do a couple of quests to see if they are linear like in Oblivion or at least have a black and white morality outcome.
After I've checked through those things I'll likely just go out and explore for a while and train my skills.
Enter a dungeon or two, be cocky against a dragon, die, reload, try to sneak kill the dragon, fail, die, explore some more, and hunt giants.

When i played OB for the first time i was astounded at how free the world and player was.. The first time i played it i didnt know there was a journal where there is a map and quests.. it was my first TES game.. so the minute i got out of the dungeon i was astounded by the beauty of the world and confused about where i should go so i headed towards what i thought was a bit white tower..(imperial city) and joined the arena. from there i figured out the quest book and headed to weynon proiry and then to chorrol to join the guilds.. How are you guys going to start off in Skyrim once you are out of the tutorial dungeon. are you gonna look for guilds. or quests or explore the world ect..

I couldn't find this topic in the search but that thing is garbage so if this is already up im sorry

To Bethesda.. these are literally the best games i have played and i have never seen an RPG with as much freedom as you guys have put it. its truly incredible

This is exacly what i did (My first TES game 2) well i go and see whats in the closest city (walk there to see some predators and landscape) get some gold somehow and buy a better weapon and then i walk around trying to make gold and at the end i will begin with the main quest (like 3 hours of looking around)
