What are you looking forward to in survival?

Post » Sat Feb 27, 2016 5:11 am

Title.

My self: I just want ammo weight and to actually have to Role play the character. The standard modes feel to much like a shooter with level ups then an RPG.

That said: I really hope when survival mode is added, they add things like sleeping bags and backpacks, cause those are a must for survival games. either that or some one will have to mod them in day one.

Here's just a few:

1. Eating in order to avoid hunger that can result in eventual death, and the elimination of food consumption that heals injuries.

2. Drinking in order to avoid thirst that can result in death, and the elimination of drinking that heals injuries.

3. Every last item in the game has a weight- even caps.

4. Reduction of item availability for purchase so as to force the player to use a cooking stove, an ammunition bench, a workbench, and a chemistry station to make up the difference.

5. Companions who can be killed, so that the player doesn't just use them as a bullet sponge or a meat shield. Eliminate Dogmeat's ability to carry anything other dog armor, and increase his perception. They stop talking when not in town, they maintain a greater distance from the player out of the player's way, and they` stop pointing their armament at the player.

6. Lowered weaponry when the player isn't aiming.

7. Dark nights mean dark nights.

8. Revamping power armor availability so as to give meaning to the various sub-types and make them worth upgrading to.

9. The ability to lock any piece of clothing or (power) armor onto a NPC

10. Introduction of a settlement leader and the ability to delegate authority (issue commands) to him or her. Ability of settlers to abstractly strip down resources, plant crops, and build objects via orders from either the player or the settlement leader.

EDIT:

11. The option to click on or off any aspect of survival mode so as to allow any player to acclimate- by degrees- to the new mode.

LOL. You can just do nearly all these things. I'm not sure having them imposed is any better than RP.

If they are gonna increase ammo weight they should start thinking about being able to "lock / mark" your house or containers.. or both.. Else your settlers going to be stealing all your Fusion Cores and hopping in your PA every single time a bloatfly flies by. And they be tossin all your grenads, missiles & mini nukes at that aswell.

Infact it already started to piss me off greatly that I've been building a freaking luxurious-fortified-settlement for all these settlers I got and they still decide to wander into my villa randomly during dawn..

Anyway to answer you OP;

- the diseases look interesting, what is funny is that they already had "mild" diseases as debuffing status effects on older Bethesda games but they somehow managed to forget about how awesome that was.

- also looking forward to possible changes in food buffs, there is a lot of "base" food in the game but I think there should be made use of it by adding more food recipes. In general food needs to be super important in buffing you up, just like in real life. And the lenghts should be buffed aswell also they need to remove the purging from effects after you sleep. Food is still gonna in your stomach if you powernap 1 hour bro..

Also fresh food might expire in your inventory, that would be next level tho :o

If they introduce refrigeration and salt /kreygasm :D :D

- possibly: fast travel ability removed from most places in the commonwealth except for keyplaces OR just removed entirely aaah yea ;D

- do something about that radiance storm when in settlements.. it is glitchy as hell atm

1,2,3?? Is F4 your first Bethesda game or what?

4? What? Like I legit don't even get what you mean.

5? Yeah you def not played any Bethesda games before in your life lmfao.

6 No idea what you are talking about.

7 LOL the nights are actually pretty well-done/dark. Check your monitor/tv settings. Have you walked outside under a starry sky before IRL? It is not that dark.. What is super dark.. even "pitch black" is when you have good sunblinds at night. That is a difference.

8 Types of PA or the Mk's of said types? Explain more.

9 Huh? You can do that already.. Only thing that is possible is that a settler randomly exits their PA booting the game again & fast traveling to set settler or something.

10 the point is that you are the leader, resources already gather automatically but the way it works is sometimes buggy

11 then it's not really a mode anymore is it? it is just an "option" then

+1

In Skyrim you could just say F it I'm making my own limitations. Like at the start not fast-traveling at all but hire the carriage. Later on when you buy a horse you can open up doing that when on horse and only traveling to visited cities/inns/your estate.

Food + Drinking + Sleep is the same.

However it is really nice if they would limit everything within certain "realistic rp boundaries" through a surival mode. This way noobs can still play Fallout Duty & nerds can RP to their hearts contend in F4 Survival Modus. 2 player bases happy. Everybody happy. Less old school gamers complaining about Bethesda being to mainstream.

Just like someone said before, the caps need to have weight, and not only have weight but also have volume. Where do you store so many caps? there should be a limit on how many caps you can carry, so they need to add backpacks for caps if you want to be rich. And being fair you cannot carry all those weapons at once and still be able to fight, you need to drop them somewhere when you are fighting, and you cannot have 2 big guns at the same time, you need to have holdsters for your guns, if you cant find a holdster you have to drop it when you are not using it. You also get tired for walking, if you are walking too much, and you need to spend more time catching your breathe, your stamina runs out quickly, and radiation can develop diseases like cancer that you cannot cure. If someone severs your limbs you wont be able to use them anymore, you will have to find a wheelchair. There must be a limit of how much you can eat, if you eat too much you will vomit and become sick, and there's no way you can possibly know much radiation anything you eat has. You cannot cook until someone teaches you how to cook. If nobody teaches you, all your food will be basic with no benefits. For roleplaying reasons your character needs to be terrified whenever a deathclaw or a similar monster appears, and he becomes paralized in terror. All your weapons have to fail. You only have 1 life to be more realistic, if you die the game uninstall and it also gets deleted, so you have to download it all over again. But each time you reinstall it the game puts a malware into your pc that tracks down your IP and sends that information to PRISM so they hire real gunsmen to kill you irl if you die a second time. Console users don't have this problem, but they have to pay each time they die if they want to keep playing. There are no paid mods, but instead survival mode blocks any mod that was not created by yourself. Settlers can betray you and kill you while you sleep, your companions will act realistic and cheat on you.

I want all of this please, also mininukes can accidentally explode sometimes when you are running.
