Dead Space is an exceptional game, it does an extremely good job of immersion and the sound is particularly creepy.

I did watch every video pre-release, and have read the comic books/seen the film as well. A horror game that didn't have "Resident Evil" in the title, I was hooked. Like when I find a good sci-fi film, I feel like I've struck gold.

I can't count all the times I jumped during my first playthrough. There's a lot of "boo" moments. And I agree with you. The dark, sinister atmosphere was infinitely times better then the whole "You're in Africa, you're in a desert shantytown, you're in a swamp, you're in a military base" of Resident Evil 5. That entire game made me a sad panda.

if you like really immersive horror games, I would suggest S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Played it at a friend's house once; loved it. I just don't know if my laptop could handle it.

I've got a Dell Inspiron and the graphics card is welded in. I fail.

Odd. I didn't find much of either in that game. Not too immersive, not too horror-ish. Although it had some good, but rare situations in which one of them would crawl up.

For the good horror, I'd recommend http://store.steampowered.com/app/57300/. You can start off [censored]ting your pants with the demo. ;)

Funny Story! I bought it for twenty bucks a while back and my computer can't run it.

Until I get a new computer, Amnesia will just sit there on my Steam client, unplayed.

Don't get any hopes for APB. The guys who bought it are K2/Gamersfirst, which are the worst possible destination for a game. Ever.

Just throwing two words at ya: Weapon leasing.

I hate weapon leasing, you have to either play 2 hours to get a gun for a day; or if you pay for a gun for a week, you have to play at least an hour every single day to get your money's worth. I have yet to see the concept used without insane charging insane amounts, in order to make you want to pay real money for guns.

Combat arms uses a system like that, and they are willing to give you a permanent OP gun if you pay them like $100.

Combat arms is terrible. Weapon leasing is epitome of greedy bastard game developers. Even if you want a permanent weak gun, just so you know you'll always have a gun to fall back upon, you have to pay upwards of ten dollars. It's a broken system.

I'm MMO-ed out. I far prefer this idea of MICRO multiiplayer online games; a co-op rn thru the entire game campaign with 3 or 4 friends is far preferable to monotonous grinding with 10,000 arguing wingnuts on a crowded server, calling each other noobs and rauaging each other at the auction house. So, without turning back to an existing MMO, I'm pretty much playing Borderlands until portal 2 comes out. That until SWTOR comes out and then...Brink -the instant it arrives.
I really, really wish sandbox RPGs like Falllout 3/4 and Oblivion were co-op. Add an easy to use level editor to it and Id never need another game lol

You mean the original sprite based games? because sprites are so easy to manage compared to 3D calculations, using editors you can create situations in those games that are hard for modern games to reproduce even with today's computers. Such as putting 100 monsters and 100 explosive barrels in a room and seeing what happens.
