Totally forgot about that. But I'll wait for it to become cheaper anyway.

I've started playing Fallout Vegas today rented from Blockbuster, think I'll buy it within a few weeks. I also purchased Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare yesterday after totally completing MW2 some months ago, doing it backwards I guess. I think this Brink looks really good. I recently had a conversation with my son about wanting to have the option of playing an online game but with an on going campaign, you know a never ending story generated online game. I think Brink is the closest I'm going to get. My son also got Assasins Creed 2 yesterday so I'll give that a go I guess. We have other games but all done and lots have been traded in.

Well that was silly! Forgot to mention MOH with bonus content, how could I forget? Blown away with the Brink videos I guess!

Assassins creed has parkour, but it doesn't have SMART, which is a big difference. In Brink, all you need to do parkour is one button. The reason SD did that is because they want the player to be able to move around the maps without thinking about it, allowing them to focus on the main point of the game - objective based FPS. In assassins creed, moving around is part of the focus of the gameplay, so you use multiple buttons to do parkour, making it able to hold your attention and be more fun to play..

You hold two buttons in AC to activate free running -_-.
Get your facts right.

And yes, even though moving around is part of the gameplay, so is pretty much all games that exist. There is always that "movement" element that is unique in every game. zzzz.

I felt like getting a little in the spirit, so I played through Mirror's Edge to quench my thirst for parkour and shooting people and I've been playing a lot of Reach as it's getting me used to the craziness that will probably be Brink single player/coop /multiplayer. Also, I've been playing a TON of RDR...The Undead Nightmare pack comes out on tuesday, and who can resist the allure of shooting zombie cowboys with a Winchester? Not me. :P

Oh, I had thought that AC was similar to Mirrors Edge in that respect, my bad. Getting my games mixed up lol

Uh Oh!

For all you GA players and PC players...here is something to look at and see.

SHAZBOT

Here is a brief update on what’s been happening at HiRez Studios.

Those of you that have been playing Global Agenda know that over the last year we have been consistently adding new features/content and releasing it at no charge to the Global Agenda community. We plan to continue doing this on an on-going basis as much as possible and over the next couple of months everyone will see new maps, raids, flair, and weapons (starting with the Halloween event next week).

As most of you know, Global Agenda is an ambitious project that incorporates many different gameplay modes (PvP, PvE, AvA, Raids, Open Zone, DA). Over time we had many requests for additional game play modes, especially larger spaces and fights. Earlier this year we released the Sonoran Desert quest zone as an area that would help players ease into the game while testing our technology limits for having large areas and many players in the same zone. Our plan for a first paid expansion was to continue on that path with Warzones which were designed as large open areas where players can PvP.

As we worked on Warzones we found too many design and programming issues to make it practical. Global Agenda was designed around 10v10 team play and there was no practical path found to scale it up in a significant way (to large scale numbers like 100 players in a single area). As a result we plan to continue releasing more Global Agenda content but only in the formats players are already familiar with. (Special Ops, Raids, Merc Missions, etc)

While we know that some players will be disappointed in the lack of warzones, we also have some good news.

We can’t transform Global Agenda to a large scale battle format but since we liked this concept a lot, we decided to create a new game based on large scale fighting. In order to develop the new game many significant steps had to be taken, including: A significant rewrite to the unreal engine servers to allow for 100+ players to be fighting in the same map, a new UI system that is more efficient, a different implementation of character visuals, a new terrain system, etc. In addition the combat gameplay required many significant changes as well.

While working through the design we kept coming back to one old and loved game that represented many of the concepts we where incorporating into the new game (Jetpacks, vehicles, large open space, three armor types, futuristic weapons, etc). Many of you will know this game as Tribes, the original on-line multiplayer shooter. As of now, HiRez Studios is the proud new owner of the Tribes franchise.

We now have two groups in the studio, one working on continuing to build Global Agenda and a new group working on the Tribes Universe project. We are also moving to a new larger office space in another month that will help us accommodate our growth.

I’m sure many of you have questions, so here are a few quick highlights for Tribes Universe:

* Three Tribes (factions)
* Full clan (agency) support
* First person view (third person for some vehicles)
* Full vehicle support (ground and air)
* Full persistent world with territory control (no instances)
* PvP focused
* Huge outdoor maps (about 10x the area of sonoran desert)
* Large scale fights (100+ players)
* Jetpacks, skiing, lots of weapons, etc

Alpha testing will begin at the start of the year (about 3 months from now) and Global Agenda players with level 50 characters will have priority in entering Alpha and Beta testing

Thanks for you support

Erez.

P.S. More information on Tribes Universe will be coming in the near future along with an Alpha/Beta registration web site.

I have a new game to test!

I'll be playing new vegas despite the problems (and i think it got patched anyway) and assassins creed 2 because i haven't played it yet. And if i have time and some money i might pick up a used game. Is dragon age any good for the 360 because i've been wanting to play it.

L4D2,
SC2,
bits of other randoms;
and bits of Global Agenda.

Been playing Global Agenda. It's dying tho. Shame, it hasn't been out long. It's a lot of fun and has some interesting mechanics, but i get the feeling that it's going to go the way of APB.

It was bad from the start. I seen its major flaw and I preached it since beta. Patch 1.3 made everything worse. Hi-Rez, the developer, never took me seriously though I may have been responsible for encouraging the Sonoran Desert open world to happen lol.

To be a liiiiittle more precise: AC requires two buttons to activate Parkour. :P But indeed, AC's and BRINK's Parkour systems are very similar.

Because Free Running is that fancy artistic relative of Parkour.

I think TF2 is all I need to tide me over until BRINK and with the amount of TF2 I play I guess that BRINK will just be a natural Progression because of how similiar the gameplay seems.
I hope that BRINK will be as fast paced as I think it is without mandatory rest breaks before your guy can run again (curse you CoD) and as little dependance on Iron sights as possible(though they're a nice feature, just nothing to base a game around) and the ability to retaliate before you get killed by a guy at least a 100 miles away who you never saw before he planted a bullet in your forehead.

I've got several games I *could* be playing, but mostly it's been trophy grinding in Fallout 3 while I wait for New Vegas to get here... In a week or so I should have a bunch of Warhammer 40,000 stuff to fiddle with and that will no doubt eat up a bunch of time until spring next year. :P

I just got FO:NV and its really good, if you liked FO3.

To me, the gameplay just seems like they made as many improvements on FO3 as they could, and put the game in a different area. I have heard reports of glitches, but haven't run into any yet.

Should keep me amused for a month or two at the very least, at which point I may start modding.

Personally, I've tried playing a few games, but am pretty lacking in things to waste my time atm. I played through Borderlands single-player player once, and have no interest in returning to it

Tried playing F1 2010, but without a racing wheel, there's no point in me getting it, as they don't let you steer with the mouse.

So, I've returned to modding oblivion in my boredom, the game is looking really good, but i think I'd rather shoot at things till brink comes out.

Hopefully FO:New Vegas will give me some enjoyment once I go pick it up, I have high hopes.

oh yea i just bought new vegas. its pretty great and gambling is amazing! Play hardcoe mode though it makes the game 100 times better.

I'm playing FONV at the moment and then I'll go back to Crysis to finish up my playthrough before installing Warhead. I got Warhead in May as a birthday gift but I wasn't able to play all summer and I figured I should give Crysis another playthough first since it's been a while.

BFBC2 e'ry day

Also playing Crysis 2 beta right now.... it's pretty sweet. They have sliding, supre jumping, and climbing, so it's almost like a beta to SMART haha.

Actually, the Crysis 2 beta has me more hyped over Brink then ever before.... precisely cause of the increased movement options.

1. Gran Turismo 5 (IF it's ever bloody released!)
2. Battlefield Bad Company 2 & Vietnam expansion pack.
3. Medal of Honor (actually, maybe not, such a disappointing game)
4. Pokemon HeartGold (time to get some serious EV training done!)
5. Killzone 3 (gotta get some "proper" gaming done with my Move! :hubbahubba:)
6. LittleBigPlanet 2

Quite a few to keep me held over until Brink comes along.
