What are your absolute favorite things about New Vegas?

I would say exploration with a purpose (doing quests) & not like F3, where the game makes it up to you if you want to head to many places, you wouldn't even know without free venturing & by only following the MQ.
In NV most locations have a reason being there (or at least feel like).
I agree yes, but exploration with the purpose of survival. I felt like I was thrown out in a wasteland and instead of feeling like I was forced to do these quests, I sort of headed in the right direction, found myself becoming lost. I don't bring up the map that much, and until I really felt lost I got back on track and was safe again. I just now have reached Primm, I was circling around it. It was pretty dangerous but very fun.

Yeah, I had that feeling in my first playthrough too. FNV balances it right for me. You're slightly forced to go south in the beginning & there's enough stuff around on your way there.
I remember. I turned off the POI (point of interest) markers right from the beginning. Was great to stumble above locations unexpectetely. ->plus: I'm not sure if I missed something out, which is nice for replayability.

Oh...I need to restart soon I guess.

1. companions with full backstories (cass+boone are my favorites)
2. the fact that you cannot run straight to vegas without etting deathclaw'd
3. deathclaws are a hell of a lot more dangeros than in FO3
4. more variations of enemies
5. cooler sentry bot voices
6. the fact that new vegas is not just the strip, the whole area outside the walls is populated (mostly by junkies and fiends though :P )
7. choice between 4 factions

The fact that I'm playing this game for n-th time says well enough. It has the greates replayabilty value than almost any other I've played, except Baldur's gate trilogy. But now to the facts:

1)it allows shaping a uniqe character on every playthrough via appearance, special, dialogues, ...
2)multiple quest outcomes
3)that each time I play the game, I discover sth new.
4)factions...

I would have to say my favorite thing about FNV is the amount options available to the player on how to deal with people and complete quests. That is what makes this game so good. Also like writing. Its very good.
